I'd be able to play like Gene Harris. However, his advice was to sound like nobody else. Easy for him to say.

Folks are influenced by many. In this case, name the ONE KB player you really dig above all others. No lists. :D:cool:

An awesome, cool and really nice guy - danish Nikolaj Bentzon. Excellent pianist and does a killer Rhodes. I know of players more skilled, but this one I admire in every single way of life, and him not being an unattainable superstar makes it easier to relate to him - to me, at least.
When in doubt, superimpose pentatonics.

I think I'll have to go with a guy that could rock with the best, classical chops and all. I've lost track how many of his licks I've stolen.

Jon Lord. Just listen to the unison part he does with Richie Blackmore on "Gypsy's Kiss".

Here's one of his recent set lists

Setlist:

Ride Like The Wind (Christopher Cross)

Riders On The Storm (The Doors)

Mumintroll at Midnight (world premiere, written by Benjamin Köthe)

Papa was a Rollin Stone (The Temptations)

Fieber

Schwimm nicht zu weit

Nur bei dir

(Three songs written and performed by Johanna Zeul)

Concerto for Group and Orchestra, 1st Movement (Jon Lord)

Wait a While (Jon Lord)

Dont Let Go (En Vogue)

Längere Tage

Ich habs versucht

Dein ist mein ganzes Herz

(Three songs written and performed by Heinz Rudolf Kunze)

The Telemann Experiment (Jon Lord)

Deep Purple medley (Jon Lord and everyone else)

Encore: Blinded By The Light

"In the beginning, Adam had the blues, 'cause he was lonesome.

So God helped him and created woman.

Now everybody's got the blues."

Kanker, your skill is already set. :)

You definitely don't want to be that cat babbling on KC. Making it rain full-time is not easy.:cool:
