I'm playing Rhodes and Bass, my brother Tom is on drums.

Steve, I can listen to wail all night on your Rhodes. I've been a little neglectful in posting comments about people's music. I also listened to the Duet, & thought it was terrific. Your brother is no slouch either. Man, you are gifted!

Anyone ready to listen to some music?

This tune is REALLY happy...finished it Friday.

\"Find Your Way Back Home\"

Alan Scobie,

I listened to the sample of So Inspired...Great mix...not my style of music really but I can appreciate it.

istyle,

Wow...that's fast man...pretty cool..far more interesting than most of the electronic stuff I come across. I especially liked the leads and the video game like sound effects. Really cool.

Sugarfried,

Cool a real band http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif...good solid RocknRoll with a punk tinge...keep jammin.

Steve: I think the snare part you referred to with the wierd phase effect is the part at the end, actually it is a cymbal from the Triton's cymbal kit, modified slightly, and run through an MXR Flanger/Doubler, flange set to comb filter than manually swept across the length of the cymbal sound and panned from left to right.

Thanks, PAULIII

thnx Steve i also listened to your findyour waybackhome.mp3

your band is cooking

but i like to hear more of compression on bass and maybe

group other chord instrument together and lower its volume down a bit

to give more space for lead thing

just my 2cents http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok, I have to be honest here. This song is not good. It would suit an episode with "The Simpsons", when they are being ironic about the American dream/superiority and such, but else...

Thanks for your reply, d-kay: I realize you are not from the USA. It's probably hard for you to understand what we just went through over here. Many innocent civilians being mass murdered by people that have no regard for human life. You must understand that it was very wrong. I care about the people of my country just like You care about the people of yours. This song wasn't meant to be part of a simpsons cartoon, but instead I felt it had potential to be made into a video using covered wagons and the calvery riding along side them in the old western days; afterward, scenes of people helping each other to build the America as we know it...things that America is really about. Final scenes showing the WTC disaster and a present day crowd of thousands together singing "The United State of America. Just an idea but if it sold to people that do like this kind of music, and helped to keep America united, especially in this time of mixed feelings, the proceeds could go to help the WTC's victims' families. Thought it might be beneficial in it's own little way to the times we're living in.

I have to post this here because my brother Tom has been doing some major work on my '77 Rhodes (fixing the Tremolo, Cleaning all the contacts, adjustments to the action).

We recorded this experimental craziness Friday Night...Tom's playing the Rhodes, I'm on Drums, my friend Chris Taylor is playing Bass.

"Friday Night"

This is a live board recording so the mix isn't great.

We recorded this last Friday 10-05-01...it was for my brother Tom's birthday party.

Sample from Tommy's B-day Jam (3.5mb)

It's just a short sample...I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Steve! You have to understand I was a bass in choir - when I say my vox ain't cut out for that range I mean it! The original actually has a different melody - I modified it to notes that work within the scale but that I could hit.

And the drums are OK I guess. It's sloppy, considering that a decade ago I was a professional drummer LOL The synth is a JP-8000 which, with some tweaks, can sound quite Minimoogish http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif The lead gtr sound ain't great but I liked the feel of that practice take so I left it there.

I'm really impressed by your multi-instrument skills...the drums are especially suprisingly good. What kind of synth was that in the beginning?

I have a new one, which is now up at mp3.com - would love your thoughts - it is called "Radio Babble" - is an electronic song with voice samples from my recent trip to NY.
