  1. Nov 01 almost gone in europe,- Leeds/UK included ... So where´s the site ? I registered weeks ago,- and all I see is still the registration site. clonk A.C. I'm pre-registered too and haven't received any info today about accessing the site to place an order.
  2. FYI - Costco appears to be selling the rebranded FP10 again:https://www.costco.com/roland-frp-1-digital-piano-bundle.product.100519453.html Slightly OT but I recall you were very involved in a related thread last year
  3. It is the Simmons DA2110 Advanced Drum Amp. Here is product page at Guitar Center: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Simmons/DA2110-Advanced-Drum-Amp.gc
  4. I'm still cutting them some slack in this regard but did have a visceral reaction against the USB input "for future firmware updates." In my mind, a "real" Rhodes does not have firmware.
  5. Saw on Twitter that Rhodes is planning to make 500 pianos in 2022. I'm not in manufacturing -- that's "boutique" volume, correct? My rapidly fading dreams of buying one of these are premised on economy of scale pricing.
  6. First time I've noticed this feature -- built in tablet stand!
  7. plus 25% fee to the auction house plus NY sales tax.
  8. And this confirms my speculation about the large front panel. Top right corner of the photo shows additional controls not visible in the head-on photo a few posts above. Must be a modular system for adding on board effects.
  9. Agreed -- rukind and J Darks are generally best resources for Dead songs. Slipknot is a special case, however. The tabs/chords on both sites weren't ideal for a keyboard player to learn the tune. The Weeping Willow resources I posted above were a better starting point for me. I think the J Darks pdf was a useful supplement.
  10. Remarkable! Thanks for posting. But why did the YouTuber use a photo of Oscar Peterson playing a Roland PianoPlus 70?!?!
  11. I had this task to learn slipknot on keys several years ago. I'm not affiliated with this guy but I'll recommend him as a the best source of assistance I found. You can subscribe to his e-mail list to get the full transcription (as a PDF?). IIRC, the transcription is essentially what scrolls along the bottom of the associated youtube video, copied below. I realize these resources are targeted to guitar players but this guy wrote out the chords and the melody traditional music notation (not tablature) -- that is about as good as it is going to get. Not much market for materials like this for the keys player in Dead bands. https://weepingwillowguitar.com/play-slipknot-grateful-dead-video-lesson/ [video:youtube]
  12. This auction has a lot of fun Dead memorabilia but it is not the "creme de la creme" of Dead gear. E.g., Jerry's most famous guitars were auctioned off about 20 years ago: https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Garcia-s-guitars-fetch-record-Wolf-Tiger-2839686.php
  13. That is the primary tradeoff between the P3 (speakers, no midi or pitch/mod wheels) and the S3 (midi and pitch/mod wheels but no speakers)
  14. Cool find! Here is a good write up on the Wurlitzer 700: https://www.tropicalfishvintage.com/blog/2017/6/22/the-wurlitzer-700-explained
  15. The CP70 caught my eye. The auction price is much more reasonable than some other items. Then I realized why. It is just HALF of the CP70 (no harp!). https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2021/from-the-vault-property-from-the-grateful-dead-and-friends/keith-godchaux-cp70b-used-on-tour-with-the-dead
  16. Vulfpeck is forever my hero for the $20,000 "prank" they pulled on Spotify -- having their fans stream silent tracks all day long. https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2014/07/28/how-a-band-made-20000-on-spotify-from-5-minutes-of-silence/?sh=3083145818ed
  17. Here is first photo I've seen of the full keyboard. That's a lot of chrome/silver! I assume the large front panel is designed as such to accommodate the several optional onboard effects -- some sort of modular system.
  18. What is your signal chain into the speakers? Some of my lower gain keyboards sound wimpy through my Alto 8 but adding a mixer or whatever to increase the gain into the speaker fixes the problem.
  19. I researched this awhile back - the Alto TS series, the Headrush and the Alesis Strike e-Drum amps are almost 100% identical. I recall there was just one non-cosmetic difference -- I think the Altos have a mic preamp or different gain structure for microphone input. Nearly identical products -- Alto, Headrush, Alesis Strike -- rebranded and marketed for different purposes! Fortunately prices of all are about the same, so doesn't seem the company is trying to exploit one type of musician as having deeper pockets than others.
  20. Thank you for cross-posting. I hadn't noticed your post in that thread, and I value your opinions in it. One thing you wrote: " it made me realize that an alternate way to look at the P3 is as a 1.5 GB soundfont player". Are there specific sources you recommend for soundfont2 .sf2 files? I'm not very familiar with the format. I've done some web searching but many of the sites have older or simpler looking web interfaces which makes me nervous about potential security risks downloading files from them.
  21. I'm not a marketing expert but I'm growing weary of the slow roll out. I get the benefits of building excitement by leaking details and teaser videos but this is becoming too slow a burn for me.
  22. I remember my first awareness of Harry as (only) a crooner. "The next Frank Sinatra" or whatever they were calling him. Didn't know he played piano. Then, tucked in the middle of the When Harry Met Sally soundtrack is this ditty, which made me sit up and investigate further. He's a real cat! [video:youtube]
  23. The Dexibell VIVO line comes close -- light, compact, metal... but have an external power supply.
  24. I'm in the camp that's willing to sacrifice sonic bliss to avoid hauling extra gear, so I've only ever gigged my SSv3 on its own. I'm generally happy with how it sounds on its own. Like others, if I'm worried it won't be enough, I use a different amplification strategy (e.g., powered PA speakers). I remember following the subwoofer discussion in the giant SSv3 as it unfolded. I was tempted to pick up that Behringer several times but ultimately didn't and haven't regretted it. However, this thread is prompting me to plan some home experimentation with blending the SSv3 with a powered PA speaker.
