  1. the MiniVent is backup for the leslie. Im using a Booker Labs interface for the leslie.
  2. This is the current rig for my Pink Freud gigs. Although after that gig I decided to build a shelf for the moog, with the stompboxes to the left of the moog, and the RC505 to the right.
  3. I had quit going to the gym a few weeks before the lockdowns started. It just seemed a stupid place given what was happening. So June of 2020, the 25 pushup challenge was making the rounds of fbook, and it was a slap in the face that I had to tap out after 2. (like WHat!) So that started me on a quest to fix THAT crap. Started out slow, a few times a day, trying to work up to 5....10....15....20.....adding exercises as I go. So for the last year, i have a 5 or 6x a week routine of 6 sets a day, each set consisting of 40 pushups, 40 standing toe touches, bicep curls using 2 gallon containers of Tide (this is a new addition, so I'm only at 15 reps a set), 40 crunches, 40 overhead tricep curls (using a gallon of tide), 40 oblique twists (with a gallon of Tide), 40 sitting touch touches, 40 squats (alternating sets with 2 gallons of tide), 40 overhead oblique stretches, and 40 "bitch pushups" to end each routine. (For a total of 250 each per day) And I was getting 60-80 minute walks with the dogs every day, but that has become very spotty due to circumstances.
  4. I have an original Vent, an original Mini Vent, and a Mini Vent 2. I use an SK1 into the vent, and I use a Nord Stage 3 that if I use the organ on, I will "Vent" as well. I dont hear any real difference between any of them. I prefer the smaller footprint of the MiniVents, and I can import my settings from the original with the dip switches inside. As for the Korg Shrillness.....I found that same sound present in the CX3s, which is why I didn't stay on that organ very long; Just couldn't get rid of it. The Nord organ can suffer this as well at certain frequencies, and I compensate with drawbars. It's like graphic EQ: you can go for the "shape" you are used to, but organ to organ (tonewheel), the results will vary; same with Clonewheels. The Ventilator 2 does have recessed controls (Original not as much) that will prevent adjustment during transport. The only thing I'll add is if you stand and play, the STOP switch on the miniVent can become a hazard. And DONT do the remote switch modification: there's really not enough room in there, and the modification starts to come apart. After 2 repairs, I just had him pull the mod out and pull out the STOP switch. My other 2 Vents are stock.
  5. Got a high school or a college nearby with an arts program? Maybe you can do a paid internship?
  6. Yeah the JD was announced at the same time as the JX. I was actually more into the Crystal Rhodes (I hated the DX7, so this was a nice alternative to those EP sounds), Mr. Brass found its way into a lot of things I did. The other night, I was listening to a remix of Return of the Mack, and I think every keyboard sound ON that was Jd800 including either the "Millenium" patch or the "2 way Slide". It'll have to do until I come across a decently priced JD990. (NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER should have sold it.)
  7. Yeah, the JD08 has my name on it....whenever they do it.
  8. Anyone ever run across a transcription for Stratus (Billy Cobham)? If so....wanna share?
  9. I"ve been playing with the "Jerry" since I moved to NM in a JGB band, and I have complete freedom. And when we folded the JGB and I joined this, same deal. It's about the jams anyway, although some of this songwriting is really outstanding on many fronts. But for this song, you need to do a little commiserating to do it right. (No SlipnFallKnot thank you.) Once I saw this guy's video (above) and his tab, and reconciled what I was reading and hearing, it made a lot more sense. I had been struggling with Youtubes at 75 and 50% speed, but I would just get distracted by the crazy bass stuff going on that I just ......my ADHD really was struggling. In terms of gear, cuz we all like that stuff, for now, and likely a while, the rig is simple: SK1-88 into Booker Labs interface into 122 and midied to Roland Integra7 into a 40yr old ROland M120 mixer and DXr10. Covers it all, aside from a couple later songs requiring splits, I limit myself to 10 "favorites" for instant access, 2 of which are organ, one clav (through leslie, it's the shit), and the rest cycling through presets on a Studio Set. KILLER. Less time choosing more time playing. Less IS more.
  10. I'm sure by this time tomorrow, its price will be more in line with vintage gear pricing, but right now, at $4500, it's a steal (your face)! :D hahahha https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2021/from-the-vault-property-from-the-grateful-dead-and-friends/brent-mydland-stage-used-prophet-10?fbclid=IwAR1pAPj4o__crt0h_kea__Bz4CvJEEA5fJ3iwPJcSJdanvGzDl1yG6NTbtE
  11. Hey folks. I joined a Dead band recently, and I'm racking my brain over Slipknot. Has anyone ever played this, or seen a transcript of it? I'm burning out trying to transcribe it.
  12. Saw that Sting Tour, and the Soul Cages Tour (others as well, but those 2 had DS). Excellent. Saw David with Clapton, same rig (Peavey C8 controller with Yamaha breath controller, and Yamaha module), BIlly Preston on organ. KILLER. Saw David many tours with Gabriel, and even interviewed him on the SO 25th anniversary tour. That interview was very much a dentist visit.
  13. 4space rack, top to bottom: 1space patchbay by Redco, with 7x 1/4" inputs, 2x Midi in/out, 2x XLR outputs, 1x 1/4 output, 1 space, Roland M120 line mixer (patched via Redco) 2 space Roland Integra7. The rack, for gigging sits on the floor on its back, the back never comes off (thus the patch bay). In the back of the rack is a 1space tripplight surge protector, and the power cable feeds out the top. T
