After spending a few hours playing with a Fantom EX from a friend I feel the soundquality and audio outputs are the same comparing to a JupiterX/Xm, but I found that many synths, pads, and combos are much better programed in the EX… Anyone knows about eventual availability for patches from EX to Jupiter? Maybe someone tried to recreate from the Fantom. Thanks!

wheels in this "Up" position for the 61 key version is unacceptable for me....

Welcome to the forum Onemaxlight! I couldn’t register every step, but is not a difficult task. You’ll have to dismantle the plastic case (opening from the bottom and sides), disconnect the keybed, the pitch bender (easy because each have a dedicated connection). Next step is trickier…, I had to cut the plastic bottom, aligned with the top, using a mini rotary saw (please use safety glasses!). Then sanding and done. Therefore there is an open side that I didn't had to close, as it's covered by the wood in the lower part. The wood panel were made with pine wood, using a mini blowtorch to gently burn it, sand and wax. Hope this is helpful, please DM me if you need assistance. Thanks! -
How come IK Multimedia can't be better?

no... not a hardware problem, setup was kept the same... surely something about windows and/or how IK manager was trying to do.. -

exactly..., I'm sure I wont purchase new IK software for a looong time... for the B3 VST... I found that UAD emulation sounds good..., will try it. -
For the 3rd time in my life I’m super frustrated with IK Multimedia’s process to install VSTs…, I’ve gave up in the past when was trying to install syntronik and thought that after some years the Product Manger App got fixed… now (once again) I cant install my previous owned products or recently purchased (multiple errors installing, stuck setup, etc). I’ll have to find another solution for a B3 VST and forget about the $99 spent…. What a day!

Roland A-50 and A-70 seems very similar. I'm using a Juno Stage as a controller, it's not heavy and I like the action...

I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and this is exclusive related to synths used for the “traditional” music composition (electronic, prog, jazz,… all genres). Therefore the use and ideas more related as experimental doesn’t apply… really interested in knowing your thoughts… Synthesizers have transformed music production, composition and created new genres. Over the last years, specially evaluating latest new products from major manufactures (Oberheim, Korg, Yamaha, Kurzweil, Arturia, Novaiton, Roland and Nord) I cannot ignore the fact we have increased relabels and relaunches from vintage gear with same waveforms, architectures and at last, the same delivery of sound palette. Making a comparison with electric guitars (e.g. Stratocaster)…: Its design has remained largely unchanged over the years, despite technological advancements in pickups, electronics, and manufacturing techniques. The delivey is the same sound over the last 60 years. Both instruments (synths and guitars) have undergone periods of rapid innovation followed by refinement and consolidation around established designs and technologies. Evaluating synths in most genres I can see the patches used in “real life” remains the same, with sparks of innovation here and there… After all, I don’t see it as a limitation but as a door to be free of GAS and a break from the endless journey for more gear.

TC Electronic Impulse IR with stomp boxes... (double post...)
dalpozlead replied to dalpozlead's topic in The Keyboard Corner
sure, I think the same thing... an IR is an IR..., but I'm still learning (also creating IRs in reaper as tests). I found the TC Elect Forum and posted there..., let's see if anyone have tried. Thanks! -
TC Electronic Impulse IR with stomp boxes... (double post...)
dalpozlead replied to dalpozlead's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I follow your train of thought, my doubt is if the pedal can handle distortion-like Impulse Responses as they only advertise (and focus) on the cabinet IRs... Other gear (e.g quadcortex) asks for which type of gear the IR is derived of..., hence my hesitation before buying one... -
Hi, I've posted this on GuitarForum but without response.... maybe our keyboardists here have some experience with this gear... here's the post: I’m trying to “save” some old stomp boxes and Impulse Response seems to be the best way to have those in a single pedal… Investigating I haven’t found if the TC electronic IMPULSE IR can also load IRs from stomp/distortion boxes…, or just cabs. Anyone tried? Thanks!
