  1. If you have a real Leslie then it's the tone of the clone that matters.
  2. I understand that. This is place is a lot tamer than it has been in the last 15 years. The transpose button thread in 2015 was the last thread that was really bad
  3. I don't see anything negative in this thread really?
  4. I didn't see where this thread got out of hand
  5. Howard's Restore. Grey are you on the Hammond Technicians forum on Facebook? It's a tough crowd but good information.
  6. Well, I was told at 16 I wasn't conservatory material and not good enough.
  7. For the record I wasn't suggesting sewing machine oil. I just meant the viscosity is similar. Hammond oil is the best to get.
  8. Well it's almost like a sewing machine viscosity oil. A lot of arguments for when you are supposed to oil I try at least once a year. I don't play the B3 in our back room a lot honestly. It's an electro-mechanical instrument. A lot of seized up generators happen if it's not oiled. Sometimes guys will find old Hammond consoles and the generators require a lot of oil and time to sit for the oil to work it's way in to the tonewheels. I don't know too many people taking them apart unless there is an issue or for a restoration. Leslie's on the other hand need their motors oiled. They are easy to remove and sometimes need new oiling, tires, bearings are to be calibrated.
  9. Rick graduated with some friends of mine. My buddy taught him guitar and knew when Rick was 15 that he'd be a great musician, I know Rick's brother who is also a great guitar player.
  10. Saw him last year at our jazz festival. A lot of the crowd wasn't interested in him, but he is an amazing talent. Lots of musicians were there though. He changed a lot of his songs off the Way it Is from 1986 when i saw him last summer. I remember being amazed the first time I heard him freshman year of college. Over the years I kind of lost touch with his music.
  11. Roy Bittan, Bill Payne, Chuck Levell. Neal Dighty (spelling). There are a ton of guys.
  12. Rick hasn't mentioned that the league is about 65% black. That matters also. My daughter's boyfriend plays football and was just trying to get onto the Commanders practice squad and is from ATL.
  13. Ain't Gwine Whistle Dixie (Anymo') (Live) (youtube.com)
  14. It's interesting when he recorded on like a Like a Rolling Stone with Dylan there was a C-3 under a tarp. He actually got the parts backward or something and they ended up keeping the recording.
  15. Not sure he wasn't bad at all. I just didn't like some of the chord substitutions.
  16. Saw this the other day. It was interesting.
  17. Reverb is number one, EBAY number two. Once in awhile FB Marketplace and craigslist. Hammond and Leslie's are hard to flip though in general.
  18. You said it better than me.
  19. What if she wanted to do it on her own?
  20. You know she had a brain aneurysm?
  21. Actually, it had better moments than the last couple years.
  22. You need a TREK part. I can't remember the part number. The Facebook Hammond Technicians page is a good place to start.
  23. Well around here people don't seem that interested. Bills hired a a new DC. I don't know if that means McDermott will make the calls or will he?
  24. Donny Hataway always reminds me of how good the 200A is.
