  1. The show was awesome, and the writing suffered around the 7th season but they brough it back. My dad and I loved this show.
  2. I think the superbowl might be boring? Who knows?
  3. Well I am rooting for the 49s but really wanted to see Detroit there. Reminded me of the Bills game last weekend.

    NAMM 2024

Because instruments aren't really made for performing musicians Dave. I totally get it.
  5. Clav, Marley Stir it Up Coming in From the Cold Get Up Stand Up Later on when the Wailers were in the expanded band without Tosh and Livingston it wasn't used quite as much as it was early on with Lindo and Downie.
  6. JR was never really relevant and will never be thought off in the same light as other heavy weight players because the soul isn't there. Most of the keyboard players I know don't really talk about him or know who he is for that matter.
  7. Happens so rarely anymore you see free gear. The internet has ruined everything in the market.
  8. 1965 Leslie 145 in rare mahogany finish. It was actually sold two years ago to a guy in Ohio. I saw it on Ebay and text him and he said he would sell it back to me. He actually delivered it back to me which was amazing as he was 6 hours away but happened to be traveling to the east coast anyway. I have to watch buying gear for awhile.
  9. Reverb and eBay are fine, I do a fair amount of business with each. Reverb is more specific for musicians and a lot of people still aren’t aware it’s around. I only use on music store near me to sell things locally I don’t think I can move online. I have a Leslie 610 which was made for an H100. Multi-channel organ Leslie speakers don’t sell well generally. The thing is to convince someone to buy it as it’s worth a lot in parts but I have it on consignment at a small music store near my house because it’s easier. With organs and really sought after Leslie’s I use Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. I will put it on Reverb but the fees are nasty with high ticket items. If I can do a private sale I will. I was lucky between 2021-2023 I sold 12 Leslies but lately It’s been tougher.
  10. Selling Hammond's and Leslie gear is probably the hardest thing to do. It's a major pain in the ass.
  11. Korg M1/T3 Kurzwiel PC88 Yamaha S-80/S90 Hammond XK3c Yamaha PC99 They are all special due to the fact they served what I was doing in certain parts of my life. I can't even say a single one really stood out. They are all vehicles to help me put my best foot forward.
  12. YC88 I use the CFX, The CF3, and Nashville Grand also.
  13. Now if Yamaha would do a YC update.
  14. And part of it is realizing your limitations and also what you can bring to the table. Being self-aware is key for musicians and what you want to accomplish.
  15. Well with that I am a huge Roy Bittan fan, 85% of keyboard players I know aren't. He is monster player though. I have 7 different ways Roy might play the outro to Backstreets from 7 different shows from 1975 till about the mid-80s. And he never really plays a song the same way. Again, you have to live in that world to grab those parts unless you are trying to just cover the song. I can't emphasize enough that you have to kind of deep dive into music you love. Use them also as a model to influence your own experiences.
  16. I just think that you are born with certain abilities. Also playing other styles requires you live in that world. I tell guys all the time as far as playing Reggae is concerned it isn't all about the music but the history, food, and culture of Jamaica. If you understand that it helps to get perspective. I will never be a straight ahead jazz player because that isn't the instinct I was born with. I can grasp some of it for my own playing but it would be forcing a fit at this age.
  17. We need a thread on how to get over a dysfunctional band.
  18. Dave those are nice. One of the bands I am in supplies me with one at practice when I go over there.
  19. I Saw them last summer and though they have a big following they kind of are an offshoot of the dead for me.
  20. Eric I know the drummer in that band. They are big around here.
