Maybe there were different versions but the two XP30 keyboards that I have owned both had internals. There is a modern XPS30 which has a wallwart. It’s a completely different board though.
-
This period has also heralded the finest stage pianos Korg has ever produced. Grandstage X SV2 SV2s Grandstage 88 Also, the very reasonably priced XE20 and Liano. But yeh, the Accordion was unexpected.

Internal PSU. C7 type connector figure of 8 type The XP10 had a wallwart though!

We used to have lots of options for solid pro 61 key keyboards with decent keyboard actions, internal power supply and metal construction without the thing being too heavy and too big. I’m thinking Roland XP30, Yamaha S30, Korg M1, Kawai K5000 and Kurz K2000 etc etc. I like the look of this K2061. There isn’t another board like it and I’ll be very tempted to pick one up.

Roland would call this “EX”, add a sticker on the same keyboard and jack the price up by a few hundred dollars
-
By this logic, the Kross 88 should have a better quality piano-like action than the Casio PX5s and the RD88…
-
Perhaps it may be reasonable to expect that Korg will put a new slimmer model in for the Kross and Krome 88 replacements then, or at least use the B2/XE20 chassis which is less bulky than the Kross/Krome 88 one. Perhaps said replacements will begin with the letter N too.

What is it with plastic 88 key boards? So many are incredibly bulky… Kross 88 Krome 88 MX88 MOXF8 Kurz SP7, PC4 etc In contrast, RD88, RD08, PX5s etc seem to achieve a strong feature set in a sleeker case. I far prefer the shape of these models. So, any thoughts? What is Roland and Casio doing that others are not managing? Yamaha has sleek cases for P145/225 etc but seem unable to get a bigger feature set in such a case, in the way Roland have managed with the RD88/08 Ultimately, I prefer a pro board with a metal case and internal power supply but for a 2nd board, a compact lightweight 88 is cool.

Casio CT-S1-76 vs Korg Liano vs... YC61?

Does anyone know of a UK equivalent? I’m struggling to find a Liano soft case? Would also like a decent soft case for the Grandstage. -
Casio CT-S1-76 vs Korg Liano vs... YC61?
The Piano Man replied to Chummy's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Yes, I think the Numa is the only semi weighted piano style keyboard with a minimum of 76 keys, speakers and dedicated quarter inch line outs. The recent Alesis model has RCA outs. Regardless, I wouldn’t rank the Alesis or the Numa as competitive with the Korg Liano in terms of the quality of the piano samples and, I think, I might even prefer the old Roland EP760 to the Alesis/Numa offerings. -
Casio CT-S1-76 vs Korg Liano vs... YC61?

The speakers/vibration effect is the sole reason I still own a Roland EP760 I wish the modern semi weighted 76/88 key boards had the facility to keep the speakers on when hooking up to amps/FOH etc. I do have an NP32 and a Liano, and the samples are clearly better than the old EP760 but the speakers are much better on the 760 and it has the proper audio outs. I seem to remember Kawai, I think on the ES100 (or it may have been the original Roland FP30), enabling speakers to stay ON when plugging into the headphone/line out. If companies really want to cut proper audio outs, I wish they would include this feature. -
Casio CT-S1-76 vs Korg Liano vs... YC61?
The Piano Man replied to Chummy's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I own a Liano. I’ve tried the Alesis and thought it was poor in comparison. I actually even prefer the sounds on my old Nanopiano, so nothing against Alesis per se. The Liano is a great bit of kit. If they could add quarter inch line outs, that would be even better but it’s not a disaster and just requires a bit of planning with cabling and/or DI boxes. Of course, if you are using softsynths, you would just use an interface of some kind. I am hoping Korg also update the D1 with sounds comparable to Liano/XE20 and perhaps add an internal power supply while they are at it. Would sell well in my opinion! -
Wonderful Ensho, thank you!

Bumping here purely to ask for some help setting sliders to control LOW, MID and HIGH eq in a piano program? Any help greatly appreciated! I know, a simpleton like me should’ve just bought an Artis 88 instead, right?

Roland XV3080 - pedal assignments
The Piano Man replied to The Piano Man's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Actually found the answer to my own question by sorting settings within the original patch, rather than within the performance.
