  1. @EscapeRocks I guess I could have read the comments on the video too. It seems that a lot of other people noticed exactly what you did, namely that he assembled the stand incorrectly. I think after being notified by a bunch of people that his video was incorrect...he just decided to leave it up with no edits? So now I gotta fight off more Keyboard Stand GAS. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the reply OK, so this review: the dude has all 3 tiers and doesn't ever put a keyboard on the bottom tier. But does your 2d tier have that rattle to it?
  3. Man, I saw some you tube reviews where the guy said that it had a back to front wobble issue when he had the 2d tier keyboard on it. You don't see any of that? That's what kept me away from this stand (and the cost).
  4. Some of them just sound great and it's a whole lot easier programming on a computer screen than menu-diving on a keyboard. You gain a lot more flexibility with VSTs than any keyboard with give you. When it comes to layers, splits, etc, VSTs are unbeatable. There is definitely a bit of learning pain, but it's totally worth it. I almost never gig without the computer. I usually run a hybrid rig where most of my pianos/EPs/Organs are Nord Stage, but most synths are Mainstage/Arturia. VST organs and EPs are also great, but I just can't find a VST piano that I bond with so the Nord stays.
  5. No, it's the guy in this video playing the Strat type Suhr guitar. Last name escaping me but his first name is Duff.
  6. Weird Irony. I was gigging just last night and on break started talking to a dude and it turned out he's the touring guitar player for John Lodge right now.
  7. If you have an ever changing keyboard rig and stands it can be a challenge. These aren't perfect but they sure look better than spaghetti. They're cheap and super flexible to different setup configurations gig per gig. They fold up very small and light. Not a perfect solution, but a very flexible and workable solution. There's a lot of different similar products in varying lengths. And if you don't like them, you're only out a few bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Management-Sleeve-JOTO-Computer-Entertainment/dp/B015HWXG4M/ref=sr_1_3?crid=JRTO17EM9TY1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xJTvFr_LeEc3495rJ-IOJrpx7C6s5fQXB30QwiMLBrz9T8zJM4rcyeQ8fzYzP_nHeVDEdqEx4rUUcD6pvHTjwaTmNNC7V0wsqMrNmB5Fn6Vgw9SNjCxjR6oLz9sSb0qPJxWADnmDRTf1YGwtPMAg4JQN0MCD-mQ3JJ7UbCX0VapdcdKCAhA0XoZcOro3PzQNxIsQpo3NaP2Rut5HgE6a8vRyb1Lw631iTgMAmGvZLV4.IzS9ODNlrd1_w8GgYmFFrsrxJUF_yHqLnCk6315IRwY&dib_tag=se&keywords=zip%2Bup%2Bcable%2Borganizer&qid=1726872077&sprefix=zip%2Bup%2Bcable%2Caps%2C783&sr=8-3&th=1
  8. It wouldn't be that hard to come up with something similar: Boom Box Kings Boom Box Stars Boom Box Legends Boom Box Dogs (dawgs doggz...) Boom Box Cats (Insert favorite animal name here) Boom Box Boomers Boom Box Gangsters/mafia/killas Just spitballing here. Also...if they want to sue, let'em. Good F'ing luck. We can't get murderers prosecuted in this country. Trying to pry money out of a losing proposition to fund another losing proposition. Who's the lawyer gonna take that on? I got a letter from Kansas management complaining about my tribute bands use of some of their imagery on videos and kick drums etc. We did nothing and they never came back at us. I even talked to them about it backstage at a concert meet and greet and they knew nothing about it and really didn't seem to care.
  9. So in Spinal Tap Fasion, you should change your name to "The New Boom Box Hero's" You're welcome.
  10. Supertrampy all day long. I'd definitely start with a Wurli. That being said, sometimes there are some EP's that are kind of tweeners that can work either way. Get the right amount of bark on the attack and put some chorus on it, you might be in the same territory. But for this one I'd bet real American money it's a wurli in the studio recording.
  11. Great documentary with some very early versions of many of the songs that ended up on FLAE:
  12. Supposedly the main guitar riff for Jungle Love is kinda like FLAE. A dude not actually in Steve Millers band did the riff and was never in the band. Due to it being in an open tuning, Steve's band actually couldn't figure out how to play it. Starts with some storyteller studio info. The actual tutorial doesn't start until about 10:00. Song is super hard to play. I had no idea it was a hybrid slide thing and had messed around with it in a standard tuning and just couldn't figure it out.
  13. Yes? Sorry but I think people always notice the cool things. The musicians you play with certainly notice. Plus, program it once and I have it on a single keystroke forever. It's not like the rest of the song is overtaxing me with it's one handed triads.
  14. OK, but that's only one modulation. I hear what I think is filter cutoff being modulated by a square wave but then is LFO being sidechained to an envelope (or expression pedal?). Something like that?
