I liked the Invisible stands too. They should re-release them, there seems to be a demand. I don't know of anything else like them.

I remember that the aftertouch on the JD-800 was terrible too. I had to really force the keys down to get any aftertouch response at all. The Wavestation was my favorite, I had one for over ten years, which was a record for me. 😄

Were 1970’s keyboardists sponsored? (Wakeman, Emerson, etc.)

I had a Minimoog, Memorymoog and an ARP 2600 with ARP sequencer back in the day, but I know what you mean, It seems like most synth players took sides. -

I recently bought Ableton Live 12 Suite pretty cheap that I use more than Logic Pro now. I still use MainStage for things though.

If it's any consolation, its new keybed feels similar to the best Fatar actions I've played, even though it's Arturia's own design.

I had an NI Kontrol S61 mk3 with polyAT that cost me $849. I found that I never used polyAT at all. I just ordered the new Arturia KeyLab 61 mk3 and it’s $300 cheaper than the NI (likely because it doesn’t have polyAT) , has drum pads, faders/draw bars, better Arturia software integration, and it’s much more streamlined and not a big imposing slab like the NI.

The funny thing is that back in the eighties into the nineties, the only synths that gave me that rush of excitement were digital synths. Ever since the Yamaha DX-7, Roland D50, Korg WS, M1, Z1, Waldorf and PPG wavetable stuff, Ensoniq ESQ-1, Prophet VS, Kurzweil K2000, Kawai K5000 all hit, I never bought another analog synth ever since. But the Arturia PolyBrute 12 is tempting me. 😀

I think Wendy Carlos was at her best when she wasn’t doing synthesized classical music, maybe with the exception of the Clockwork Orange soundtrack. I liked her original compositions like Sonic Seasonings, Tron, Digital Moonscapes, Beauty In The Beast, and The Shining soundtrack more than I liked SOB. But I guess that might have been the better choice to expose the public to electronic music than something like Silver Apples Of The Moon by Morton Subotnick.
