marino
My first rock concert was Elton John (yeah, he actually played rock in the early 70s!), and he spent most of his playing time standing and jumping, rather than sitting at the piano. That same year I went to an ELP concert, and that was it.

hurricane hugo
In person, as opposed to TV or movies? Greg Hawkes of The Cars, late 1978. 5th or 6th concert I ever attended. ...did Seth Justman of the J. Geils Band play standing up? If he did, then June 1977, 1st show I ever attended. http://blip.fm/invite/WorkRelease
stillearning
Keith Emerson. My first real rock concert in the early '70s. ELP's first tour. And back then, I so wanted Laurie Partridge. I would like to apologize to anyone I have not yet offended. Please be patient and I will get to you shortly.

HSS
Yeah... I remember seeing Kansas a couple times in the late 70's and Steve Walsh was indeed the acrobatic wildman. He probably got laid more than most post WW2 keyboard / piano players with the exceptions of Jerry Lee, Jimmy Smith, Jon Lord, Keith Emerson, and possibly Billy Joel. AnotherScott
Paul Revere? Dave Clark? Yup, those were the two that popped into my head. It seems like that's what the rockers did. Or at least the ones I noticed. When I started playing with people, it didn't occur to me to sit, maybe that's why. Here's another... Krakit
I haven't the slightest idea. It's not the sort of thing I could have hoped to commit to memory, but I think that the Laurie Partridge guess might be just spot on. Carl
steadyb
Since I probably stood up for the first time at around 6 to 9 months old, it could've been anyone. I really don't remember the first person I saw play once I was standing up. Most likely my uncle or one of my cousins who played. Unless you count seeing someone on TV, in which case it could've been Liberace.

Polychrest
Mike Smith of the Dave Clark Five. Smith was also the lead singer. I was very young and couldn't understand why the band wasn't called the Mike Smith Five. It was my first lesson in the relative status of keyboard players and drummers in rock bands. “For 50 years, it was like being chained to a lunatic.” -- Kingsley Amis on the eventual loss of his libido
