  1. I quite like Billy Eilish's songwriting and delivery, more so that than Taylor Swift's, some of which is interesting to me but IMHO a lot of which is manufactured industrial pop. My favorite among the current crop of young lady musicians / songwriters is Molly Tuttle who IMHO is on another level in terms of sheer musical talent and songwriting skill. I apologize if my comment agitates any KC Swifties. 😟 https://youtu.be/aX3dPxXk-W4 https://youtu.be/awFeDMNiKX4
  2. I went a little crazy during the last couple of months and bought a Nord Stage 4 Compact and a Yamaha CK88, neither of which I really needed but I wanted. I worry that I'm losing self-control with my gear addiction and may need an intervention.
  3. I bought a CK88. It's a lot of bang-for-the-buck, especially for the sound set and gig-friendly interface, although its GHS action is kind of clunky. I wish Yamaha would make a 73 or 76 key semi-weighted version coming in at about 15 lbs. with the same action as the CK-61. I'd be all over it.
  4. Sorry for resurrecting this Zombie thread, but I've not been able to try out a SK Pro. From reading the above as well as reviews/ discussions on other sites, I already know that the SK Pro's AP sounds are generally not considered to be very good and certainly not as good as the recent offerings by Nord, Yamaha, etc., but can they work in a loud blues or rock band mix for both comping and soling? For those in the know, how do the SK Pro's AP sounds compare to Kurz's old Triple Strike AP's which I confess that I still find acceptable in loud band mixes? For the record, I play in mono. FWIW, I already have a SK1 and, given the choice, I wouldn't want to use its AP sounds for solo piano or at a gig no matter how loud the band is. They sound clanky and thin. Hopefully the SK Pro's AP's are improved enough over the old SK's that I could use 'em for loud band gigs.
  5. Sorry for resurrecting this thread and going OT, but I've not been able to get my hands on a YC73 to try out. How easy and/or difficult is it to do organ chops on the YC73? I know it's a lightly weighted balanced hammer action. FWIW I've found that it's easier for me to play piano on a good semi-weighed action (e.g. Kurz SP76, PC4-7) than it is for me to play organ on any weighted hammer action board I've ever played.
  6. I agree. I have a CK88 I purchased a few weeks ago and, no matter how much I EQ and mess with it, the ride cymbal is barely audible on the A. Bass +cymbal patch. Like you, I have a P121 and the ride cymbal is much more prominent on the equivalent patch. Perhaps it can be corrected in a future update (?). Another item of possible interest is that I currently have three Yamaha boards with GHS action, a P121, MX88 and now a CK88. For me, the action on all three is very different with the P121 being best for piano and the MX88 being best for synth /organ. Unless it breaks in over time, IMO the CK88's action lags the other two in both categories.
  7. This curmudgeon's radio DJ career is over: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13583931/Greatest-Hits-Radio-presenter-Ken-Bruce-refuses-play-Taylor-Swift-songs-writes-isnt-ex-boyfriends.html
  8. Assuming you are Bulgarian, you should be careful when publicly expressing negative opinions about a major industrial American pop icon like Taylor Swift or we Americans might sanction your country. /s. 🙃
  9. The age demographics of Taylor Swift's fanbase in the poll data is consistent with my Generation Z 18 year old son and his friends thinking that her pop songs are corny and for old folks. This is how my friends and I felt about Elvis during the 70's when we were into Jethro Tull, Yes, ELP, Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc.
  10. Grab a bag of popcorn. It's on. My money is on Taylor to send her social media shock troops of angry bored Millennial soccer moms to end Dave Grohl's career. Dave had better publicly grovel and snivel to Queen Taylor before it's too late. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/taylor-swift-seems-responded-dave-152151174.html
  11. A yuuuge catfight is brewing! Taylor Swift vs. Billy Eilish and Kim Kardashian. If they do end up tussling naked on pay-per-view, this dirty old man just might spill some coin and watch. It'd probably be the biggest pay-per-view event in the history of the multiverse! https://www.lifeandstylemag.com/posts/kim-kardashian-thrilled-about-taylor-swift-billie-eilish-feud/
  12. Dave Grohl took a jab at Taylor Swift in a recent concert. He may regret his words when psycho millennial soccer mom Swifties come after him on Social media. Dave will probably be forced to kneel and kiss Queen Taylor's ring if he wants to continue making serious coin in the business. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dave-grohl-trolls-taylor-swift-185431012.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
  13. Taylor Swift's fans are mainly bored millennial soccer moms and beta males looking to get in their sweat pants Sorry for trolling y'all but I'm bored.
  14. Yawn... FWIW My 18 year-old son and his friends think Taylor Swift's music is corny and for "old" folks. HIs 17 year-old girlfriend said her 39 year-old mom took her to a Taylor Swift concert, and she hated it. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-02-18/why-are-so-many-taylor-swift-fans-middle-aged/103457252 https://www.statista.com/statistics/1372971/taylor-swift-fans-by-generation/
