  1. Yeah I had the same thought before watching it - to this day I love the Band Aid song 'Do They Know It's Christmas' - Phil Collins' drumming alone makes it worth it. We Are The World has always been the 'lesser' of the songs to me, but damn what a song still and I liked their intent of it being about the voices.
  2. .. and I'm enough of a sentimentalist to have loved every minute. I was really pleased to see both the recognition given to Bob Geldof and Band Aid which came a few months before, and the huge bow given to Harry Belafonte. There's a bunch of footage of the recording I'd never seen and some of the anecdotes are fascinating. They even put in some negative stuff like Sheila E being 'used' to get Prince to turn up, even though Lionel Richie is one of the EPs and central characters in the doco, so kudos to him. Anyway, it's on Netflix and 90 minutes well spent IMO.
  3. I understand how you feel Jose - the first couple of musicals I played were quite the learning curve. My only suggestion would be to get into a musical where you're not the only keyboard player. For example, I was in orchestra for Jesus Christ Superstar once, and there was a specified synth role alongside the MD and the piano player
  4. That was a heap of fun - Entwhistle looked actually more interested than he usually did at a Who gig
  5. Very excited about this - can't wait to see more.....

    NAMM 2024

I too am holding out and actively planning for 2025, looking forward to it
  8. This. Wow.I did have a brief listen but the host's mangling of sentences was enough to make me give up. And don't start me on the merit of a PhD from a seminary unless the subject matter is theology.....
  9. Seriously this is amazing and I too would buy one in a heartbeat. Great work!
  10. I use MainStage as essentially a MIDI switcher i.e. I have the night's set list organised in Mainstage and I hit one key (down arrow) on the laptop to move to the next song and both keyboards switch to what's needed.
  11. I have a 4RU case but it only has a KL-8 and a 1RU power conditioner in it. That said I sit that case on a rack stand/shelf at gigs, with my laptop on top with Mainstage etc. I have said many times I'd jump at a new rack release from the big four that equated to the Montage / Kronos / Fantom. Totally get the laptop covers that to a large extent, but I'm just old fashioned.
  12. My suggestion is somewhat obvious and a lot of people watch him: Rick Beato
  13. I had the pleasure of interviewing William and the rest of Cyndi's band circa 2004-5 - there's a reason William has been with Cyndi from the get-go, great guy
  14. Yes absolutely, it's a daily habit both as a consumer and creator. Your list has some people I sub to as well
  15. One of the best uses of bagpipes: The latter section was the entrance music at my wedding, starting at 2:10
  16. I've also not experienced this but like Tim said, Radial are very responsive
  17. Just a scheduled reminder that on both Spotify and Apple Music there is a playlist of songs composed, recorded and performed by your fellow forumites. Links to both in my sig - if you have stuff released on those platforms and aren't on the playlists yet, drop me a direct message
