  1. I agree re: Kiss, his version is superb! He sang Green Grass, What's New Pussycat, It's Not Unusual and Delilah from the old catalog but not Help Yourself
  2. P.S. Has anyone watched the Nicky Hopkins doco yet? Paddy covered piano duties on that, I think it's only screened at film festivals so far, really keen to see it
  3. .... and was just wowed. At 83 he's definitely slowed down, and I'm sure the keys of the songs have been dropped a little, but geez what a force of nature! Covered his whole catalog and did a brilliant version of Cohen's Tower of Song amongst many other things. Had the pleasure of spending time before and after the show with his keys player, Paddy Milner. Such a lovely guy and he certainly gets a diverse set of songs to play with Here's a brief montage of some of his work. I once again want to start playing the accordion
  4. Yep sad to see - I had friends at the third Sydney show who said it was much better, not sure what the issue was at Bluesfest and first Sydney show.
  5. Absolutely agree - but some still hold it together really nicely in a more conservative way. I watched 83 year old Tom Jones kick arse last night for nearly two hours, his voice 100% live. Was so great to see.
  6. Agreed - not a bad run at all and no way they won't be putting out something similar with the hard-to-get parts substituted by something else.
  7. Audio link So great to catch up with fellow forumite David Ryshpan for this episode. Lots of fascinating ground covered, thanks David!
  8. Bloody amazing! Geez you'd be obsessed with venue temperature though in that get-up
  9. Hi - first, welcome! Just a small partial response: user friendly is in the eye of the beholder. I currently own a MODX and a Fantom 07 and I'm currently selling the Fantom because, to me, the Fantom was a pain to integrate in my Mainstage rig and the interface just didn't gel. Others will rightly say the opposite
  10. Apologies sir but just on a tangent - what are the specific portable monitors you got? And what do you display on them (Gig Performer / Mainstage etc) - looking at going down that route...
  11. Audio link Some great nuggets in here and one hell of a train wreck story
  12. This - I'm taking delivery of a new vehicle in April that is plug-in hybrid. 8-hour charge overnight off a normal power socket, 70km EV range then ICE beyond that. I'll be lucky to use petrol more than 5 or 6 times year
  13. Couldn't agree more - I don't struggle with the MODX at all, can find my way around most things no problems at all. Agree on the Super Knob though - I essentially don't use it....
  14. That's my understanding yes I just took delivery of a 7+ over the weekend and did some asking around: firmware is still at 1.0
  15. Audio link Mark was such a great guy to speak with, I've been a fan of N. Rateliff & The Night Sweats since I saw one of their original videos. Hope you enjoy it.
  16. Vegemite and Marmite are similar for sure, but only in the way that A Nord and a Korg is similar That isn't a punishment - that's lunch!
  17. 18. Also some good info here:
  19. I may have missed it, but only saw one very polite comment from the OP saying he wants to avoid using a digital app for control. Haven't seen any dissing at all but again may have missed it.
  20. If more people asked themselves that question on a regular basis, the internet would be a much better place. I approach everything I do knowing I probably don't know S&%t about it, and then sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised.
  21. Greenfield is on my all time greatest list, what a force of nature, so sad he passed during the pandemic.
