Dave Bryce
So, if you have Carlo Mezzanotte in your part of the world and a day off, what would you do if you were me? Record, right? To make a long story short, we're planning on having a tracking session at my studio today with Carlo, Steve LeBlanc, Zephonic, myself and possibly steadyb. I have a feeling there may be some pics/sound files available in a day or so. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network

alfonso
That will be a great session for sure! Tell Carlo to bring back some high quality file, it could be worth for him to have it...he knows that he has free access to my studio for whatever he needs to work on! Guess the Amp .... now it's finished... Here it is!

Dave Bryce
Can't wait to hear the results! Well, we're going in with no plan at all, which is unusual for me...but given the eclectic assortment of gear and the chops of the visiting playas, I'm inclined to think it's not unlikely we'll get something useable out of this... dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network

Dave Bryce
Dave, how are you recording the session? Digital Performer. In all seriousness...Carlo and Zephonic wrote the tune, then Carlo laid down a scratch piano track so we could set up markers. Z laid down a bass track. I put down a rhythm loop. Steve played some rhythm guitar, then the boys agreed on a main melody and Carlo laid it down...after that, Carlo replaced the scratch piano track with an EP, then Z did a nice pad, Steve did a small harmony part for the melody in the second chorus... ...and then the soloing began. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network

Dave Bryce
If the pictures are anything to go by, it looks a productive session. We had fun for sure... We were a bit under the gun time-wise - getting four musicians in a room with no plan other than that we had a few hours to come up with something and then record it was definitely challenging, but I think everyone was pleased with the results.... dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
