  1. Newest toy is a Yamaha MODX8. Now I have to dust up the convoluted ways Yamaha does things. I totally lost my basic programming touch using Nords for so many years!
  2. RIP Robby!! Kansas was one of the first bands I fell in love with and Robby played an oversized role in that band!! He is surely a legend! aL
  3. Model 15 seems to work OK in standalone mode. However, I'm getting some serious clicks and pops (and other unpleasant noises) running it as a VI in Logic Pro and Big Sur!! I'll try rebooting and see if that fixes it. aL
  4. Chick's elektric band was the last show I saw before the pandemic. Amazing show and talent on display. Mind blowing. RIP Chick. You'll be missed. aL
  5. I tried attaching the pictures showing the settings but, they don't show up. If you're a facebook user here's the link to the post: Hope this helps! aL PS: He has two slightly different settings for two different organs a B3 and a C3.
  6. That was my solution. I left the CCM scene behind and attend a liturgical church and I couldn't be happier. The lyrics are deeper, richer, and orthodox... No wonder, they've withstood the test of time.... aL
  7. I also thought the EP sounded very good. aL
  8. Took the words out of my mouth. Same situation here. I'm out. aL
  9. My rig is a NS3HP on the bottom and a NS2 73 on top. This gives me all I need at the push of a button or two. Whatever works for you. aL
  10. David, I listened to the podcast. I enjoyed it a lot. Keep up the good work. aL
  11. I can report the Nord Stage 2 definitely does not transmit midi from the high trigger. aL
  12. Dittos here. Scott has been an officer and a gentleman here and on other fora. aL
  13. One of my favorite bands! What a bunch of musicians and composers. Love Ferrante. Sorry about your pain 16251... aL
  14. It's been my goal for some time, with varying degrees of failure. You're right, it is quite humbling but a worthy goal and quite the exercise in learning to play good music. aL
  15. The Bodhisattva intro threw me for a loop until our drummer showed me how to count it!!! Whew!! [video:youtube] aL
  16. Love that patch for Have a Cigar!! Great rig and excellent presentation! Thank you. aL
  17. Thanks for all the feedback, advice and encouragement. I really appreciate it. Although there is no formal BL per se, but, there's someone I can talk to and maybe that's the way to go. Because I've known these guys and played with them for such a long time, I want to do what is right by them. It is hard to say goodbye and I have no hard feelings at all. I just cannot take the ear issues anymore. Thanks again, and you all have a nice weekend!! aL
  18. I've never quit a band. The bands I've been in have usually either faded away, or morphed into something else. That's one of the bands I'm in now. That said, while I generally enjoy the band, I have tinnitus and the band is notoriously loud (at least for me). I have no desire to use ear plugs as everything I've tried makes the experience not pleasant at all. I tried to resolve some of the aforementioned issues while keeping things low key, but, my efforts have fallen on deaf ears!!! So, I am contemplating giving notice. I've known most of these band members for at least a decade or more. I want to give them time to find a replacement player. What have been your experiences in quitting bands? Is there a protocol for doing so? I am thinking 60 days should be sufficient. I can commit to playing all the gigs on the books until then (or until they find a replacement, whichever is earlier). Finally, I don't want to burn bridges but, again, I may never play music with any of these guys again. Who knows!? Any thoughts and advice are appreciated. . . aL
