  1. yess. haha. Actually I met Sven in Toronto too. He's a good man.
  2. Awww haha thanks dB. Still got that cheeky popcorn kid for a front man I see. Love it. So I used the Minirigs tonight with accordion, vocals and a bassoon plugged in, plus drums and a sax. It was a bit of a mess! Not sure the best sound system in the world would've helped either.
  3. Hi Dr Mike! I was reading your computer forum yesterday. That's terrific, I'll be gleaning lots of info from you, thanks. yeah, if I can remember how to link here... The Volbox Mini I bought the mini and the big brother model.
  4. Gosh I must sound like baby's first Christmas. I'm in a strange land for sure. I no longer have any idea what's up and coming. But I'll catch up!!
  5. Hey! Great to see some familiar faces.
  6. Hi guys! (is geekgurl still here??) Hi Linwood, ITGITC! Oh man I won"t stop and name everybody, even though I probably could, but I hope everyone"s well. Good to see the forum as active as ever. I"ve been off the radar for a few reasons but felt like stopping by and starting a thread. Like I have every right to do that. Oh well. I searched till I got tired of looking with no hits, so here goes nothing. MINIRIG 3 SPEAKERS. They"re awesome. Seriously I haven"t been this excited about a piece of gear in ages. They"re powerful, clear, and play nice coming straight out of the aux outs on my Yamaha p-125. This confused me actually, having had balanced outs in the past. I tried them on the promega and it"s crap. No dynamics, all mud. And from the headphone jack, they"re overdriven. I"ll take them over the Spacestation or Bose L1 any day, and they fit in the palm of my hand. Kinda funny. OH. And when I have to use MainStage, they sound great simply plugged into the headphone jack on the laptop. I set them by my feet in stereo mode, maybe half volume, and I'm heard throughout the hall. That reminds me of another good find. Two actually. First, the Yamaha doesn"t have midi volume control which is a real pain in the butt, but I discovered the Volbox Mini. A tiny inline volume control knob about the size of an eraser, that does not add amplification so it"s perfect. I"m speaking ahead of myself since I just ordered it and haven"t actually received it yet. I also discovered how to create a 'multi-output device' in audio preferences. What the heck I had no idea. So I can use the Radial USB pro to send FOH on the rare occasions that I need to, and still have my own sound coming from the headphone jack?! Wow. Huge problem solved. Ok, hope that wasn"t too much enthusiasm too late. Cheers. gangsu. edited to add: I was asked if I could run a mic into them and my first thought was no, but I was wrong. The Yamaha MG06X mixer has those 1/4' stereo outs, I really don"t get dBu numbers at all, but whatever is going on there, a Y-cable into the minirig is another sweet spot.

Dave, you just made my day. A hard reset seems to have solved all issues!! Touch wood. Even the LCD's working again. I still have all the links to OS upgrades and your instructions, so I"m covered. Unfortunate that there are no Battery Plus stores in Canada but maybe they'll ship. Not bad for a sunday afternoon. Thanks.

Hi Dave McMahan!! Nice to see you! I have a question: could I get my hands on a replacement battery pac for the Promega3? I've checked local electricians, online, blahhhhhh...... it's (as you know) an "AA Ni-MH 3.6V 1300mAh". It's been a while since I took lifted the hood, but it would be a simple matter to swap it out. I've been having a problem with blinking display lights, lost LCD display, and whacked midi volume control. ie. sudden increases or decreases in midi volume. Any thoughts? I figure it's gotta be the battery. Boot-up's also gone from seconds to a near-minute, although that happened years ago. No rush... but talk soon. Sue
  9. Hey Dave. That's me playing a garageband piano, then Steve took it up a notch or 3 by plugging in an East West piano in Logic. Haha, there are limits to what he'll agree to actually play. Yeah, the lyrics would have been lost on me too if it weren't for the printed page. "..staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer.."
  10. At Christmas I like recording my students playing/singing whatever they've got to mark the year end. For fun I asked SK to lay down a Trilian bass track and this is now my favourite tune [with godawful lyrics]. DivShare File - Skinny.mp3
  11. You say it's random but every note seems aligned within the next. Your hands are some kind of magnetic field. You're the Mandelbrot of Music. Nice.
  12. That's very kind of you, thanks Allan. Of course, my motive in recording her is that she'll recognize she needs to develop a more critical ear. Instead I may have created a monster. Sorry to read that you're temporarily displaced! Hope that situation is resolved soon.
  13. haha, in the spirit of being stupid, I submit a recording done a couple weeks ago by one of my 11 year olds. I suppose you could call this a reharm. She's keen on the concept of "learn a couple chords and you can play anything". So here's Paitra. She sings, she plays. What can I say. Keep at it.
  14. I don't understand the question. You looking for a reharm or a resale? Anyway, nice piece Allan and good dynamic control of the Privia. Always a pleasure to hear you play. Dave F, I've got your tune in my library already, twice. Three times you're out. JUssst kidding. Nice work.
  15. Haha, kind of like bottled music. Make it a double. Sorry for wrongfully branding your piece, SK. Luckily I can't speak for the masses.
