Legatoboy
Good 4 U man!. I've seen them once live a Jones Beach about 10 years ago. They are a great band to 'hear' and see live! Donald Fagan is the stepfather of some one I used to work with, Amy Helm, Levon Helm's daughter. She is in Olabelle now. Also Cornelious Bumpus's children used to study with my teacher (coach) up in the Bronx till he passed away some years ago! God rest him! They are a great show to see. . . .! ENJOY! ENJOY! sorry to be such a name dropping, brown-nosing assw%pe! (sorry god!) But I actually miss Amy, she's a sweet person! Cornelius who played sax with SD and was in the Doobies was actually a very sad passing because he would not go to the hospital because of his religious beliefs! lb CP-50, YC 73, FP-80, PX5-S, NE-5d61, Kurzweil SP6, XK-3, CX-3, Hammond XK-3, Yamaha YUX Upright, '66 B3/Leslie 145/

Bobadohshe
Awesome! Have a great time. Is Michael McDonald opening up? If so, I think he'll come out for backgrounds on PEG, etc. Let us know how it is. BluesKeys
It will be a great show I am sure... Tell us what Donald is playing ... bet it's the new Rhodes. I saw them at the local shed about 5 years ago ... great show. ENJOY Jimmy Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others. Ed A.
I saw them a few months ago at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. Maybe they were having a bad night, but even though I was a Steely Dan fan from way back, I wasn't impressed. The only thing I really liked was when they did the extended title cut from Aja. For the most part, I got the feeling like they couldn't wait to get off the stage and that they were just going through the motions. They're not a band I'd ever want to see again, probably one of the least memorable concerts I've seen yet.
Roland Genske
Hey, that was a huge party! We were very lucky weather-wise so we had a smooth summer night. This was an open air show, the place was filled with hardcore Dan fans, great! The opener was the Sam Yahel trio, I really dig that guy, great player and very nice person, I met him in the crowd after the show. Unfortunately, no way to get near to Walter Becker or Donald Fagen for a group photo or even an autograph... I must say that I am very impressed of Mr. Keith Carlock. What a drummer! Roland Genske
It will be a great show I am sure... Tell us what Donald is playing ... bet it's the new Rhodes. No, it was an older Suitcase, a 73 Mark I or early Mark II as far as I could see (didn't have the flat top). It didn't have the nameplate on the back anymore, probably was re-tolexed some time ago. It sounded distorted and phasey as usual, as far as I remember he uses the orange MXR phaser (read that somewhere). Actually, the sound was very distorted, not close to the Rhodes sound I hear on the recent records.
Roland Genske
Roland, is there gas in the car? Tom, is that you? Did you change your forum nickname? Yes, they played Kid Charlemagne. In fact, you crossed my mind when he sang that line

Such a great player! I love his work on Joshua Redman's "Elastic" and "Momentum". I must say that I am very impressed of Mr. Keith Carlock. What a drummer! Scary, isn't he? BluesKeys
Orange MXR was the Phaser 100... I used it on my Mark 1 also. I remember a sweet sound out of his Rhodes years back. It might need a rebuild by now. Jimmy Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others. I remembered it being an 88 though i could be mistaken. As for the flat top or not, i wouldn't read too much into that. The tops are completely interchangeable. Roland Genske
who was the warm up band ? if any did they have a horn section too ? Sam Yahel trio, see above The original trio doesn't have a horn section, but here Michael Leonhart and Walt Weiskopf of the Dan Orchestra joined them. Sorry, missed that in my post above. Should be easy to tell the difference. On an 88 suitcase, the keyboard hangs off the ends of the speaker, on a 76 they are the same width. Bobadohshe
He said himself in Keyboard a couple months ago that he used 2 MXRs for stereo phasing. He might not use those anymore though.
