  1. ???? Maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t get this.
  2. Thanks again. To recap, it’s only 3 songs, & I only need to cover piano on all three. Sounds like any of the available boards will get me through.
  3. Long time KCers know I’ve gotten some fierce sh*t here for occasionally expressing my dislike for some seemingly revered Jazz musicians. So I smiled when a friend told me that Chet Atkins once referred to a musician as “he plays like he’s double parked” 😆 👍
  4. I enjoyed their video of “Overtime”, especially because it included Rai. I can only listen to this style of playing in small bites though.
  5. It’s a very popular piano in studios. Maybe Brent Arledge would be interested in helping sell it here. pianotuner1@comcast.net
  6. DL-ed, but I haven’t played with it yet. It’s been a fav so I expect to still love it.
  7. I’ve always felt that 10” speakers were best for fitting in frequency wise between the bass & the EG. I’ve put a lot of Wurly through 10s on records for several decades, but only once or twice live, so your mileage may vary.
  8. You posited that X people use Y to do something you can’t do. X people came forth & said no. It doesn’t work like that. 3pages later you’re still sticking with your “Y” opinion. To me, this says you’re more interested in reassurance of your opinion than learning the truth.
  9. Well as likely the only forumite who has actually “jammed” with Mike Huckabee, I can say that calling him a bass player is a HUGE stretch of kindness 😆
  10. Took a screenshot of a partial list I compiled a couple years ago, of the drummers I’ve played with. Clearly I’ve led a charmed life
  11. I’ve played with so many great drummers, it’s hard to relate to your post. In my experience, I find what you describe common among drummers, guitar players, bass & keyboard players in the “Weekend Warriors “ scene of part time musicians, especially amateur Jazz musicians.
  12. A friend of mine is the producer for (what will be) Jimmy’s last record. He was also a player on the new George Strait record we tracked last week. On Tuesday he was telling us how cool it was to “produce “ Paul McCartney’s bass track, then Wednesday he missed the sessions, flying to NY to say goodbye to his friend. Sad.
  13. Don't get me wrong, prominent fiddle parts are fun to play on keys; Many years ago I did a live showcase for an artist who asked me to cover Mark O’Connor’s fiddle part from the record. I had only a DX7 to do it with. Not good! Weeks later I ran into Mark & told him I had the unenviable chore of trying to cover him on stage, looking for a little sympathy. He looked coldly at me & said “I know. I was there”, shook his head & walked away!
  14. At that age, what matters most (imho) is to find a teacher who will nurture her love of music and not focus on fingering, posture, etc. I say this as someone who began weekly lessons w/a teacher at age 3.
  15. I think my point & others was that your experience is not our experience. I had no trouble installing & no intolerable latency. That suggests that your issues are yours, & perhaps do not deserve the all caps slam. I would recommend Pianoteq to you though. It’s is excellent sound quality, very small tax of resources & (in my experience) easy to install.
  16. Expected but still sad. I loved his records, especially the interplay between him & Ralph Sharon.
  17. All I can say is I never had any of the problems you’ve described when I was using Ravenscroft. Quite the opposite really. Perhaps the blame belongs elsewhere.
  18. I ran through a Roland 480 for years, & loved it. Admittedly, I wouldn’t have used all those inputs if I hadn’t had Cartage to carry my gear 😆
