  1. Don't get me wrong, prominent fiddle parts are fun to play on keys; Many years ago I did a live showcase for an artist who asked me to cover Mark O’Connor’s fiddle part from the record. I had only a DX7 to do it with. Not good! Weeks later I ran into Mark & told him I had the unenviable chore of trying to cover him on stage, looking for a little sympathy. He looked coldly at me & said “I know. I was there”, shook his head & walked away!
  2. At that age, what matters most (imho) is to find a teacher who will nurture her love of music and not focus on fingering, posture, etc. I say this as someone who began weekly lessons w/a teacher at age 3.
  3. I think my point & others was that your experience is not our experience. I had no trouble installing & no intolerable latency. That suggests that your issues are yours, & perhaps do not deserve the all caps slam. I would recommend Pianoteq to you though. It’s is excellent sound quality, very small tax of resources & (in my experience) easy to install.
  4. Expected but still sad. I loved his records, especially the interplay between him & Ralph Sharon.
  5. All I can say is I never had any of the problems you’ve described when I was using Ravenscroft. Quite the opposite really. Perhaps the blame belongs elsewhere.
  6. I ran through a Roland 480 for years, & loved it. Admittedly, I wouldn’t have used all those inputs if I hadn’t had Cartage to carry my gear 😆
  7. Sounds like just about any bright analog synth pad will do the trick.
  8. Hard not to play great with JR driving the bus. 😎
  9. We’ll I’m not looking for a single board for all things. I have other controllers. This would be for piano mostly & EPs.
  10. The muted trumpet from wavesfactory is nice, & maybe still 1/2 price.
  11. I used Peaveys for years & loved the action at the time, but I didn’t have to lift them. I also had an Elka MKII that was awesome. Now I keep a CME UF80 in one space & use my Casio in the other. All except the Casio are hard to come by, but I’d recommend you get the best action you can & if you need more controllers, add a small second unit. I still keep a cheap M-Audio something or other above the CME, ‘cause sometimes it’s just easier to grab a knob or slider on it.
  12. Did I miss “modern” or did you edit the thread title? 😃
