  1. I think that a full Wave 2 (4 slot synth) + 1 slot piano + 1 slot organ is what they should be offering.
  2. The link from the image to this forum is missing again. 🙃
  3. Yes, I suppose so. I believe the sustain pedal has 2 sets of double sensor exactly for the half-pedaling function. The pedal noise is velocity sensitive as far as I know (but I do not own a triple pedal, so I cannot confirm it).
  4. Hi, it is 6 switches. Here is a diagram: https://www.norduserforum.com/accessories-and-amplification-f8/inside-triple-pedal-modification-t1883-20.html#p41617 The mechanism is the same as the keys: the velocity data is generated by the time difference between the two contacts closing.
  5. I think it is made by Fatar (with a Nord logo) but it is not potentiometer based. The right pedal has 2 double contact sensors, the other two pedals have one double contact each. See it dismantled in all its glory here: https://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage-forum-f3/inside-triple-pedal-modification-t1883.html
  6. About the new forum image in the main page: when clicking on it rather than going directly to the forum, it just shows the image in a new screen.
  7. Hi dazzjazz, what happens when installing the KIWI-8P in relation to the patches of the original (not upgraded) model? I suppose that new patches now have more parameters to store. Can you still load old/original patches? Thanks.
  8. Maybe also ask in the norduserforum.com perhaps somebody has the same setup as yours and they have it already resolved. I am not sure the splitter pedal (is this a Y cable?) is the best idea as the switching is made thought a small current (3V) and that might have 'unintended' consequences. That being said, I remember seeing (perhaps here?) a switch pedal with 2 cables (and 2 independent switches) some time ago. That would certainly work.
  9. I see... Are those vertical tubes made of metal? If so you could cut a hole to insert the horizontal section of the mic bar through it, so it does not move in any direction (and then use the clamp as shown on the vertical tube in the middle image).
  10. In your middle photo, could you use a jubilee clip to prevent the bar slipping down?
  11. Despite it usefulness, I find it most distracting, and looks like a cheap toy, constantly calling your attention. The illuminated part is too big. But as mentioned before, it can be dimmed down or switched off. They could have done it more classy, and discreet, like a thin illuminated ring or a single LED.
  12. Yes, that is a good point, but it would probably be easier and cheaper (therefore more rewarding in the short term?) to sell more MODX and Montage models than having to design and produce a completely new instrument? There is no reason why they couldn't produce later other instruments with AN-X (whatever that might be) and full of knobs.
  13. Thanks Tim. Two questions, if I may... Does the 2nd tier *lock* in a fixed position (other than just by friction) to prevent any chance of the instrument ending on the floor? This is a main concern with tubular stands. Is there any reason why you used a curved tube at the back? I suppose one could use a straight tube.
  14. I never had one of those, but I agree that the logic in the design of round tiers without some kind of better locking mechanism (other than friction) is difficult to follow.
  15. Well, since you asked... Aftertouch (of the polyphonic kind, or do we have to wait another 40yrs?) Double polyphony VA engine Better Organ emulation AND! led indicator for transposition. Perhaps only the latter one will happen.
  16. The fine emery cloth/paper idea is a good one and it is reversible. Making the surface rougher with an abrasive might not end up looking too good...
  17. The panel seems exactly the same as the original. Could it be just a memory increase, similar to the Nord Stage "EX" models? And about that "/E" in the product name, I wonder if that would be a forthcoming expansion for existing owners of the original model.
  18. Below the Juno is a DX7-II (and below it another DX7-II). Below the JX-8P is (I think) a D-50.
  19. X stands can be easily made non-collapsible by adding a strap (or a chain) between the two top tubes/bars that prevents it opening beyond certain angle.
  20. Could they be saving chips for a rack version?
  21. The MODX works fine both with USB MIDI and USB Audio in my linux install (using jack).
  22. Hi, no I haven't, but isn't MIDI a protocol standard? What is so different from any other MIDI instruments?
  23. Hi, linux USB MIDI support (via ALSA) has been there for as long as I remember.
  24. In the MODX, some LED should indicate that transpose is ON to prevent catastrophic events in the next song. There seems to be a discrepancy between the sounds of the patterns you hear in "patch Audition" mode and what one can do with the keyboard using the same patch. I imagine that the keybed cannot generate the range of velocities that the Audition mode outputs.
