  1. Those values (350W) are "peak", the RMS (average) value should be about half of that (according to their specs).
  2. Alto makes other models that accept both XLR and jack input (TS408, TS410). I have a pair of TS210 (now discontinued) that have both inputs. Otherwise use a DI box (they are not expensive). I do not think the adaptor above is what you need, but I have been wrong before.
  3. How could I forget Focus' Birth! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI5ARFrBqAA&t=726s
  4. Golden brown - The Stranglers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-GUjA67mdc By the way I have no idea how to insert the video, hopefully somebody can clarify that?
  5. Ha ha! I saw a Polish band video that did the same thing. And I remember somebody modifying the 'Nord' logo in to 'Nerd'.
  6. The full backup ns3b file (not to confuse with the "bundle" files) should have all piano, samples, programs and synths patches. It will be a *large* file and it will take some considerably long time to upload, when compared to what we are used to do with computers and usb drives.
  7. Talking about springs... "plastic spring binders" are really useful too. Not only keep the bending to a minimum but they also keep the rest of the cable away from the pedal.
  8. In practice with amplified signals that might not be so drastic as to "disappear". For example (using Audacity) generate a sine (or other shape) wave, copy it to another track and run the "Invert" command. Panning the two tracks in opposite directions should generate a perfect out-of-phase stereo signal. Yet, if the stereo audio is sent out to stereo speakers it can still be heard. The issue becomes critical when mixing to mono and in that case indeed the sound completely disappears, but when using speakers the sound bounces around on walls/furniture and the phase cancellation is not as noticeable (add to this that we have 2 ears!). If you invert one of the channels back and forth (in and out of phase) there is a change in the sound spatial image, but it is still there. Here is a link to a nsmp sample (Nord instruments format) that shows exactly that. If playing stereo you can hear it, if you press the "Mono" button (which mixes the sound internally) the sound vanishes: https://www.norduserforum.com/nord-piano-grand-forum-f10/extremely-important-info-for-the-sound-of-piano-samples-t4823-10.html#p31734
  9. It is the same switch principle found in TV remote controls. Cleaning gently both the rubber and the board contact part with isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip should be fine.
  10. Ah, yes, you are right, the plug follows the BS standard and has the fuse, thanks for clarifying it!
  11. In some countries like the UK, the IECs also have a fuse (typically 3 or 13 amps, depending on the appliance rating and conductor sizes), but this is to mainly protect the ring circuit of the main installation (that is, prevent overloading, meltdown/fire in case of a short circuit). It is the fuse of the appliance itself, with a way lower value specified by the manufacturer, the one that will (hopefully) prevent circuitry damage.
  12. About the "Slo-Blo" spec of the fuse... in theory if you use a "fast-blo" (standard fuse) it will be more likely to blow when the instrument is first switched on, but I have no idea if that would be the case in the Nords. Slo-blo fuses are typically used for situations where there is a temporary surge (like an electrical motor). As you found out, it is a good idea to *always* carry fuses for all things (instruments, amped speakers, mixers, extension leads).
  13. Can you post a photo/view from the side? It looks like the 2nd tier is already "outside" the end of the leg.
  14. I think the MODX patch transfer site SoundMondo uses it (when the site works!).
  15. I have a NS2 and the MODX8 and to me, the NS2 keybed is noticeably better than the MODX.
  16. Thanks for the follow up, Dave. I was not asking to remove the feature for everybody, but to switch it off for me if that was possible. I guess that the size of the popup might be browser dependent. Not to worry, I can live with that.
  17. When I position the mouse pointer over a thread title, there appears a pop-up window showing part of the OP in that thread. In my browser that seems unnecessarily oversized, which obliterates the following two thread titles and seems to take a bit too long to disappear (e.g. after the mouse pointer is elsewhere). If I scroll up or down with the mouse wheel that pop-up remains open for some time... Is there a setting to avoid having that pop up? Or reducing the time it takes to disappear? Thanks.
  18. Very interesting. I hope you had your invention protected by a patent before you contacted the manufacturers! My humble opinion is that it might be more practical to have a device produced separately rather than hoping that it will be included in every keyboard as default. Something like a thin plate with the mechanism attached to the sides so one can put a kbd on top (as suggested by bjosko) and connect via MIDI to the instrument (actually a MIDI merge box might be more useful for those setups with MIDI in already in use).
  19. Hm... I would consider Alan Parsons Project to be borderline progressive. I would also include as progressive Van Der Graaf Generator and The Enid. By the way, are there any progressive bands that do not have a keyboard player? 🤔
  20. What about a strip of LEDs to illuminate the bottom keyboard panel?
