Maybe... ...the foam that you put on top of the keybed contained some kind of slow releasing agent (e.g. a solvent used in the production) that eventually causes plastic damage? If you kept the instrument always in the bag, then it could be a long time exposure. ...the force of playing on the keys could induce a tiny flexing on that region that causes micro-fractures on the surface (so you see the cumulative effect). If so, I would expect that to be a common observation, though. Has this been reported elsewhere? ...the batch of plastic used was of a lower quality than expected? ...all or some combination of the above?

How is that different from what the Mellotron did years ago?

... the key position. I suppose the balance of the mix of L and R is per key. Key in the most to the left is only L output, that in the most to the right only R and the rest a mixture depending where they are nearest to. The ones in the middle should be a 50% mix of L & R. I have no idea if that is true and if so how they achieve this, but the claim was that it made the pianos sound better in mono as there is less phase cancellation. Caveat emptor!

Clavia appears to have mentioned in an interview that the "mono" button in their instrument does a weighted sum of L & R, rather than L+R, so it might depend on the instrument.

Just a comment, not exactly sure what you meant by "a part of a sound" here, but the effects settings have been always been saved as part of a "program" (e.g. in the NS2 it can consist of several engines: 2 organs, 2 pianos, 2 synths) and you could assign effects to those, although some of those exclusively to one engine or another in each of the two slots available per program) . What it is new in the NS4 is that different sound engines can have their individual effects.

Have a look at the Stubberget bracket for monitors from Ikea. There is a version for 1 and another for 2 monitors. Maybe you can adapt it to your setup?

A user in the Yamahamusicians forum noted that if you transposed the MODX, then when pressing the Shift button, the transpose buttons illuminate, which can be used for quick-checking the transpose status. Not ideal but better than nothing. It would be much more useful if the transpose buttons blinked or were half-dimmed, or some area of the touch screen changed in color somewhere.

I installed the Med sample (actually it is the smallest of them all) and I feel this is the most dynamic of all Rhodes samples for the Nords. I always felt that the EP samples lacked dynamics (i.e. brilliance, volume and barking the high velocity levels). This one is way different/better.

Did you try moving the cable around when it does not work? Maybe there is an intermittent contact/broken cable.

Don't try that in the Osmose synth!

I added a latch switch button to a simple sustain pedal and wired it in parallel to the original switch, so I can play a chord and leave is sustained without keeping the foot on the pedal. Could that be a timing issue? If you are running the sample player through the Jack audio server (most probably you already know this, but just in case) have you edited the 'audio group'? (actually it is the /etc/security/limits.conf file that requires some change of settings from the standard linux configuration).
