  1. Google earth does not find that corner, but there is more than one "Emerson lake" (actually lakes)! Of course there is (was 😢) only one ELP.
  2. Very minor comment: I noted is that when we are in the main page, and click on the logo for a particular forum while I was expecting it to take me to that forum, but the browser shows me that image instead!. I wonder if rather than that if would be useful to link to the sub-forum *page*. Maybe it is only me...
  3. What are the key sizes on this? It looks that they are a bit short that I was expecting.
  4. Does the 🦴pedal🦴 still work?
  5. I wonder if it wasn't as stable as it was supposed to be... the centre of mass seem to be too close to where the main stand ends. I think the model with 3 legs would be more stable.
  6. Thanks. I wonder if it is the cheap usb adaptor that is not doing what it should. I can see the USB-MIDI of a Nord Stage 2 and both USB-MIDI and USB-audio of a MODX under linux.
  7. Do you mean the MPCX was not MIDI- or USB-audio visible?
  8. Beautiful song... the epiano effect reminds me of the "vibe" implemented in the Nord stage.
  9. John Cage might disagree 😉
  10. 🤔 Hm... wouldn't a song with no keys solo (i.e. length = 0) be the winner? (there are tons of those).
  11. There is! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/17_equal_temperament
  12. I would prefer encoders with led rings, there are less moving parts to break and can be seen it the dark. Is there an obvious difference in price is there between motorised pots and encoders+leds?
  13. Caveat emptor. The wheels in ElmerJFudd's photo look exactly the same as the ones in my computer chair: they break very easily. They have a metal pivot that attaches to the chair and the rest is non-solid plastic. They are rated at 50 or 60kg each, but as soon as you lean the metal deforms the plastic and start getting loose. Eventually they crack. I've been through 2 sets of 5 wheels each already.
  14. I use a brick transformer (like those in laptops) which happened to be 12V (I think it was from a monitor?) and I attached it to the X stand with zip ties. Practically invisible. The "kettle" power cable goes to a multiple mains extension which is fixed (also with zip ties) to my other X stand; I have 2 kbds).
  15. Yes, that seems a better method than crossfading. Given that the samples are known, the FT, interpolation and IFT do not have to be done in real time; they could be pre-computed and stored in the sample/file format for rendering in real time.
  16. I have a NS2 (same piano library as the NS3l) and I cannot notice sample transitions with velocity. I can hear sample transition in the MODX8 acoustic piano and in the Yamaha P80 samples (specially Rhodes sound in the P80). I have not done any spectrograms plots to see if there are any noticeable changes across velocity levels, but that would be one simple way to investigate it.
  17. Yes when jumping into KC directly. After the log in, it goes into English. It is sorted now, thank you! I wondered why the default would be Spanish. 🤔
  18. When I try to access the forum directly through https://forums.musicplayer.com/forum/28-the-keyboard-corner/ every time I am greeted with the Spanish version of the forum... 🤔 Not too much of a problem but I thought I should report it.
  19. Would really love to see that in modern controllers. I suppose it would just require the keybed to be on some sort of rail or suspended with springs and a transducer. It might make the instrument a bit more fragile (think vibration during transport) although some mechanical lock would easily prevent unwanted movement. Apparently this was introduced in the Ondes Martenot in 1930!!
  20. The spec looks good (please add the expression pedal input). I hope such product would put the long overdue pressure on most other manufacturers who refuse to include AT in their keyboards.
  21. I think you have 2 options: 1) Your Nord should have a switch in the transformer that converts it to 230v, but if you do that, you also need to change the fuse for a different value. See: https://www.norduserforum.com/post140032.html#p140032 (Fuses are all Slow-Blow type). And make sure that you switch it back on your return! 2) Get a voltage converter that converts 230V to 115V and forget about changing fuses and opening the board to switch (sorry I can't tell if the one you posted is any good). Make sure that the power rate of the converter is above the power required by your instrument (specified in Watts on the plate at the back of the instrument). Whatever you do you will also need a "US to UK plug adaptor". That only converts the plug shape, not the voltage! If you go for option 2 you could also bring some fuses in case your transformer breaks and you decide to change the internal switch to 230V.
  22. All Nord Stage models have an option for "high trigger point" mode for the B3 organ section. The Nord Electros 5 (except from the 5HP model) and the 6 also have that mode according to the manuals.
