  1. After a year of use, I’ve come to admit the Electro 6 overdrive sucks for organ. All fizz with no body. Anyone agree and what are you using in place of for overdrive? I’m considering a Loundsbury Gear Grinder. Hi Thanks.
  2. So how were you doing this? Through Midi out of the Stage to the in of the Electro, and filtering out note info? Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing.
  3. I’ll give that a try Mike. Thank you.
  4. When using my Nord Stage 2 on the bottom tier, and my Electro 6D on the top tier, I like to use one set of foot controlled switches for expression (cc#11) sustain (#64) and rotary speed (#82) to control whatever keyboard my hands happen to be playing. Expression and sustain work fine, but it seem after years of using cc#82 for rotary speed, on the Electro 6, Nord has switched the rotary speed cc# to 108. Instead of using just one simple MIDI cable, this involves re-programming my Midi Solutions Event Processor Plus black box to convert #82 signals to #108. At least that’s how I understand it. Only thus far I haven’t been able to get it to work. Why would Nord suddenly change their Midi cc#’s? I’ve owned about 6 Nords over the years and otherwise quite enjoy them. TIA Steve B.
  5. Don’t do it. How old are you? If you’re relegated to the couch after one gig episode, it will only get worse. I stopped moving furniture fifteen years ago. I’m now 72 and for the most part my back is in good condition. Are you running stereo? That’s critical to get enjoyment out of digital Leslie simulators.
  6. Any Wave 2 users out there? Obviously the instrument is made to be run in stereo. But there are times it’s not possible for me to feed the FOH mixer in stereo and I run in mono. Must I run both outputs to my mixer and then to the PA, or does the left output sum everything to mono first before it gets to the PA? It seems to work this way with my Stage2 and Electro6. TIA
  7. I’ve been a Yorkville user for fifty years. They rarely disappoint. I wasn’t aware of these but will check them out.
  8. Very sad to hear. Rod was major influence on me as far back as his Wurly solos and Hammond solos. So unique and stood the test of time. Hope he pulls through ok.
  9. When I got my B-3 at age 16, the first guy to ever play it was Doug Riley, the Dean of music in Toronto. In 2011, the last guy to play my B-3 was Joey Defrancesco. After that, my Hammond has been retired to my basement studio.
  10. I just bought an IPad G9 which has a Lightning port. I have a Korg Plugkey and/or an I-Rig Pro Duo to interface to the IPad. The negative of the I-rig Pro Duo is it does not charge the IPad, so I had to buy some Camera kit adapter to get power to the IPad. I hate extra dongles and adapter cables but it works. The Plugkey does everything in one.
  11. I’ve discovered on the left side of the Wave2 an “Octave Shift”. This seems to accommodate moving up and down the keyboard a couple octaves, and doesn’t affect sound quality. I think this is what I was looking for, and I can adjust my patches accordingly. Thanks for the help guys! Steve
  12. The Wave2 is brand new from Nord. I haven’t done anything with updating samples.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. But I’ve read the Wave2 doesn’t have an abundance of memory, I’d probably have to remove some other samples to make room.
  14. Here’s another one for you. I’m trying out a Wave 2 synth before I purchase. There’s many things about the architecture of this thing which I like. It’s like 4 synths in 1, with an assortment of available sounds to build your patches. Waveforms, FM, Wavetable, samples, etc. Today I stumbled upon a Yamaha Stereo C7 Grand Piano sample which I use all the time in my Nord Stage 2. I use it typically with zero EQ as it just bright enough to cut through any band situation, and responds to velocity very nicely. So I activate the sample on my Wave 2, after I did a quick A-B test, and they sounded identical to my Stage2 sample. Then, as I often do, I transposed the sample down -12 which is one octave. When I did that the quality of the sample just disappeared and ended up with terrible fidelity from the same sample with no transposing. Is this because the original Nord piano sample is not multi-sampled across the keyboard? I’ve never experienced anything like this in any Nord or other keyboard before. Even from other manufacturers. Strange. I don’t want to try to EQ the sample back to normal. I like it in its original pitch as is. Thanks for reading this far.
  15. This is a new one on me. Thank you Jinkings and DJKeys. I've implemented this on my Stage2, and put all my Midi Solutions boxes away for the time being. This Keyboard Corner Forum continues to amaze. Thanks to all! Steve Beach
