  1. Learn to play with weight. Sometimes playing certain pieces make it clear you'll have a hard time getting through it without building up stress. When I first tried working on Chopin's Military Polonaise in A, it became obvious to me. If you watch Yuja Wang's body mechanics, her posture and balance are excellent.
  2. I was surprised some analyst didn't blame it all on pandemic stress. But maybe I speak too soon? Maybe the academy will have pies in hand for future broadcasts. Stooges.
  3. This link will apparently take you to any radio station playing in the world. Just point where you want to go and listen. I pointed to Kyiv and the station was laying down blues. http://radio.garden/visit/kiev/QkxHmSx8
  4. If this app can get chord tones, I wonder if it can or be developed to get notes played in time set on a music staff? That would be awesome.
  5. Thinking of getting the app. One question, it would be really cool if this could create a pdf chord chart on the fly as the chords are being shown. Or maybe it does? That would be a time saver.
  6. I have an early classic 2 manual mojo. I don't believe I had any static issues. But had a note hang once or twice. I think they fixed that with an update as I don't have that issue anymore. One thing that bugs me is with the separate foot switch for leslie control. First it works ok, then after awhile playing, I have to double hit the switch for it to work the leslie. Not a big deal, I'm using the halfmoon switch now anyway and have no problem. The mojo did freeze up a few times when my HVAC system started. As many users suggested go get a good UPS which I did and that has not happened again.
  7. Seems very cool. Wonder if how it would work on these chord voicings.
  8. There are roland A90's going used for $400 or more. That was a $2K board when first out. The action is nice. Only problem is the key weights may need some love with epoxy.
  9. Nice discussion, but I wish she just had the camera farther away so she didn't move it so much.
  10. Love the underlying swing feel. Sometimes you don't need a lot of notes to kick ass. Sounds like laid back Oscar. Nice indeed.
  11. I use Musescore sometimes. Been getting messages their pro version is on sale that gives access to a library of scores from users I think, maybe more. Anyone try that?
  12. Is this what you want? Was $90 two months ago now 30 higher. https://www.amazon.com/Workstation-Keyboard-Controllers-Turntable-Equipment/dp/B08JNWWHGZ/ref=asc_df_B08JNWWHGZ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532462241650&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11974737387675222720&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007357&hvtargid=pla-1395119094428&psc=1 I was going to get one but got a KN omega with a tier for 2nd board.
  13. Gotta be nice to do that in an apartment. Veronica Swift knows her stuff.
  14. Bought a nice used K&M Omega stand with 2nd tier for $180. Plan on gigging with it if setting it up isn't too much hassle. Seems sturdy.
  15. Agree. Getting these under your fingers really helps my fingers. With the lockdown, it presented time for more Bach. Last January I wanted to work on Bachs French suite 5 and now finishing it up at speed. If I listen to some beautiful classical piano music, why not learn it? Classical helps other chops and your reading. So much piano music out there. Remember, the physical side of things. Being in my 60s, keeping the hands and mind in shape playing classical or other stuff to me is obvious. As for gigs, solo or otherwise, that's another can of worms that fluctuates. If more time is available, you can still improve obviously. Playing in public, you may never make everyone happy no matter how you play. Personnel standard matters more to me.
  16. OT but wondering. Played a casino last night but on their grand. Does musical instrument insurance cover stuff like this if your board gets damaged? Though this looks like not near a band, got me thinking to insure as the world gets dumber. https://www.phillyvoice.com/harrahs-brawl-video-atlantic-city-new-jersey-one-person-injured/
  17. Only primed the jar a couple times. Felt uncomfortable, figured it's insulting to the crowd IQ if they don't know what it's for. Especially the regulars. Over the years, what strange things have people received besides money in it? Remember getting always $2 bills from one regular. Once a mini bible. Couple buttons. Candy. One old lady dropped in a gold broach. Not sure what it's worth, real or junk. People like the Doors music for tips.
  18. This would be nice if you could get rid of some cables like using a Bluetooth system. Wonder how reliable that would be? Looking to your left at the Ipad, did your neck hurt at end of gig?
