Fellas, I wish I could say that I love your pieces. I don't. ;):P

I love Michael's Erwin's piece .... but that's cause that's the only one I heard before my !@#$%^%$ amp connected to the computer gave out on me.

Yeah, well, I'm on hold because my @#&**&^% Masterlink is still flashing "TILT"...:rolleyes::freak:

Luckily, I'm in no hurry, but I'd rather try and get it fixed than to have to master in Spark and burn it on the Mac. I'm just so used to the ML - it lets me easily get that ham-handed sound that I like so much... ;)

.....

I just wanted to say this too.

And don't forget to crank up that dominantor! :D

I am back.

You'll be pleased to hear that Schneckles submitted a 15 minute long version of that song that people play on the piano by rolling their knuckles across the accidental keys. It's a musical masterpiece. :D

Of course, I'm gonna need to add a touch of peak limiting... ;)

If it sounds anything like his last clip and crackle-fest, pleased wouldn't be the word that comes to mind upon hearing it.

You guys are bad. Do you really want to bait Schneckles into starting another shit storm? The stench from the last one still lingers.

It's not. Alesis is not responding to my emails regarding the Masterlink, and I'm a bit busy this week getting my stuff together for AES to deal with it, so the project is temporarily on hold.

Sorry...

Here's a corollary:

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It will only annoy you and frustrate the pig.

OK, that had nothing to do with the thread except for the mention of a pig, but I hadn't used it in a while and felt the need. :P

Yup. That's pig corollary #1. I've always known it slightly differently: "Never try and teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig."

The first one I quoted in my original post is pig corollary #2.

Both very useful, I think. :thu:

Go right ahead.

Nothing is gonna happen until the @#$%^&^%$# ML gets fixed, and I don't have 80 minutes worth of stuff yet.

I'm getting anxious to hear everyone's stuff.

What can I say, I can't wait to listen.

I'm going to start a thread for MP3's for the comp 6 CD.

Hopefully, those others that have submitted, will follow my example and post their performances so we can all get a taste.

The full length verison of my submission can be heard at my website, http://www.llarion.com. Go to the Music link in the main menu, and then Sample Songs. It's called The Sentinel. The compilation version is faded out at about 4:50, and remastered. Compared to most of y'all, I'm sure I'll be quite embarrassed, but hey, it fit the requirements. It was actually an accident; I'd sat down to work on some of the parts for a previous comp submission, Dewpoint, and I wanted to warm up. Something told me to turn the deck on, and the piece just sort of tumbled out...

Cheers!

PatAzz, that was me trying to get the gang in the bass forum started in doing a bass featured comp, since I play bass too, wanted to see any takers. Your right it died out, might try to spur it on again though. It would be a challange indeed.

Anyway, good luck folks with this babby. :thu:

ML fixed. I'm supposed to get it back Monday.

I'd really like to try and get this done before I leave for AES on the 8th...should be doable.

Sorry for the delay...

Thanks, Raul! :)

Okay, where were we? Oh, yes...vol. 6...

Here's where we're at - the following people made the following submissions:

Common Ground - LZ

Thoughts About Nothing - SP Gulliver

Edelweiss - Frank Lucas

Promenade/Firth Of Fifth - dB

Santa/Someday steadyb

Wabi-Sabi - Carl "Krakit" Kramer

Solo Piano - PatAzz

Piano Improv #1 - Michael Erwin

Alone - Steve LeBlanc

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - Marino

Rebecca - Roger Hooper

The Sentinel - Llarion

So Little Time - DanS

Sashi - Jerry A.

Rebirth Revisited - Music*al

Hatikvah - Soundscape Studios

I need to ask for two of you to resubmit...

DanS - your tune on the little CD is what crashed the ML, so I'm reluctant to use it again. Can you please send me another one on a normal sized CD?

Krakit - your CD is messed up - it's really distorted...could you also please send me another?

If either of you prefer to point me to a site where I can download them, that'll be perfectly acceptable.

So - there's some more room - anybody else planning on submitting?
