AnotherScott
I think I could have waited to buy the Leslie collection (unresponsive to CC in Digital Performer) two weeks ago. Looks like they offer an additional discount to people who have already bought the Leslie collection (or various other things)... https://www.ikmultimedia.com/eligibilitycheck/?a=hammondb3x&s=HB-3X-DDC-IN Is there a demo of this available? ChazKeys
I wonder if this is sharing any of the code with the SK series? Developed in cooperation with Hammond, interesting. Looks very good.
George88
I bought it this evening. Thanks for the heads up on the cross grade. This is a winner. I have VB3 and B5 and this retires both.
AnotherScott
I have VB3 and B5 and this retires both. Impressive! The only other one I'd want to compare it to is Blue3. Fleer
GG Audio"s Blue 3 will be the real contender. And it allows for separate Leslie effects. Don"t know if IK"s B3 allows for that.
ElmerJFudd
I"m assuming the SK in the marketing video is being used as a controller for the VST. The audio demos sound quite good. So what"s the Hammond/Suzuki connection? Did they license their modeled Leslie? Get access to classic instruments and amps in Hammond/Suzuki"s collection to model and sample? 'The first official Hammond B-3 virtual instrument, designed in cooperation with Hammond Organ Company' Stumped at how they scored this deal. Definitely worth a good test drive. jeffincltnc
If they make this an iPad app, I"m all in. This. $200 is a big investment to nail the Hammond organ sound and would probably be more inclined to spend those dollars on a used Mini Vent, but this would be an immediate purchase for iPad if it were priced around the same as Syntronik. AnotherScott
GG Audio"s Blue 3 will be the real contender. And it allows for separate Leslie effects. Don"t know if IK"s B3 allows for that. Good question. As a pretty pricey VST, I would hope that it would give you the flexibility of putting other audio into its Leslie sim (as you can obviously do with their separate Leslie sim product). So what"s the Hammond/Suzuki connection? Did they license their modeled Leslie? I'd say not, since reports are that IK's Leslie VST is better than what Hammond has in their hardware instruments/pedals. Stumped at how they scored this deal. They did the same thing with their earlier Leslie product (which is why their Leslie sim could be marketed with the Leslie name and nobody else's can, except the ones from Hammond themselves). vanderSchoot
Wow.... i think i've never heard a 'fast' leslie setting like this.... very, very convincing. I always assumed the leslie was impossible to 'clone' accurately. The ventilator made me reconsider that notion and the IK Multimedia sounds even better... i'm really impressed. For some reason the 'jazz settings' in all clones don't sound as balsy, woody and creamy compared to the real thing. Compare any of Joe Doria's Hammond jazz video's with the current clones and the differences are still there. Always thought the leslie was the weak link in the simulation realm..... i'm not so sure anymore....

Mark Schmieder
Ah yes, and a post above reminded me that I can no longer get the IK Leslie to load in DP; it just spins for minutes, so I give up and Force Quit the application. Not sure when that problem started, as it worked on initial release, and well enough that I was able to push it confidently to the top of my list of Leslie emulations. Mark Schmieder
Reading the specs, it seems they might have upped the game a bit from what else is out there (except for the XK-5 hardware, and the real B-3). Modeling the evolving interaction of tonewheels and other parameters in real time, is I think a step above what the XK-1c or other clones do.
