  1. I’d check out the PreSonus 16.0.2 usb mixer. It doubles as an interface as well. I use to have one but mine was the FireWire model.
  2. Even tho it’s tailored more towards the synth side, have you considered the Roland SH-4d? I have not used it but it seems to be the same form factor as the tempest albeit they approach drum programming different. Me personally I work in the box with Ableton for programming
  3. LSU did a great job tonight. Yeah early on the officiating was bad but the 2nd half they really let them play. I thought it was a good game. And I’m not just saying this because I live near Baton Rouge lol. I’m not an LSU fan either.
  4. I’m hoping that Yamaha will revisit the “S90” concept. That was the one board from Yamaha that I feel had everything a gigging musician needed at the time. Add in the current features of the Montage/MODX+ and the keybed of the CP88 and I’ll preorder it yesterday.
  5. You may want to look into gospelmusicians pure synth app. I personally use this and mks sensation with my CP73. Match made in heaven (no pun intended lol)

    Cymbals!

The clapstack from Istanbul Agop is becoming a favorite. I also LOVE the Crash of Doom from Zildjian. It is my desert island cymbal.
  7. I could be wrong but I think you can send the cymbals back to Zildian and get them to reapply the logo. For me personally, I play jazz a bit more than any other genre so my cymbals don't get cleaned as much (if at all). In most cases the dirtier (and older) the cymbal, the better it sounds. Now for anything else I tend to use either Roadie in a bottle or the Zildian cleaner, but both will for sure rub the logo off.
  8. It helps that I have a few drum students so that keeps me practicing rudiments every week. It also helps that I play with a church band which differs from my top 40"s band because we learn different songs each week versus the same songs each gig. That helps because of the variety of the music. I also try to avoid the rabbit hole of YouTube and social media. While there are a ton of amazing players, you"ll wind up spending hours looking at that instead of actually working on your craft. Lastly, I look for drum-less tracks and shed on that.
  9. Greetings all. I recently purchased the CP73 and love it. I did however notice that the 1.3 update has been suspended due to an issue that was found. Mr. Fortner have you heard anything from Yamaha concerning the update? When it will be re-released?
  10. Well since you mentioned 'Jazz' I"ll also include one of my favorite intros by Herbie Hancock called 'Good Question.' Tony Williams on drums with Jaco Pastorious on bass.
  11. If they make this an iPad app, I"m all in.
  12. I would say "Brick House" by the Commodores should've been on that list. This list seemed to have been more rock focused. Great songs nonetheless.
