  1. Best of luck, DB. Stick with the therapy and all will be good again. Jake
  2. We passed 46 last April. I am still paying for 45, 44,43,42,41,40,39,38,37,36,35,34,33,32, etc. Jake
  3. Look at the bright side: It only took 91 years to repeal NYC"s Cabaret Law, so we should be able to gig in 2111. Jake
  4. Your first loyalty is to yourself, and secondly to your family. What happened in the past is not always a barometer of the future. One thing I have learned over the years is try as we might to separate musicality from personality if there isn"t a total comfort level on both sides of that equation, it"s time to let go, As much as I love gigging, I didn"t get to reach middle age by being stupid or oblivious to reality. I"ve turned down iffy gigs for lack of details on band size, indoor/outdoor stages, etc, which 6 months ago meant nothing. Even though music is my first love, breathing is more important. You can"t over analyze anything in these horrendous times. Jake
  5. The original was also played on a Harmony H-22-1 bass. The Fender ain"t cutting it. If it wasn"t for clonewheels and apps most of us elder statesmen wouldn"t be playing at all. If he can live with it so can I. Jake
  6. Chief Dan G nailed it: Loaded with cheeze, but for a 6 year old kid in 1957 this was great stuff. A Bell 47 and a Boeing B47 in the same movie, but the F100 Super Sabre with the bomb bay hatch was bogus. Jake
  7. I"ve been using the 1080p version of this for years: Zoom Q2n-4K Great price, great sound. You may have to still stitch large files together, but I believe that"s a limitation of the memory card, not the camera. Jake
  8. Just saw this in my B&H nightly feed: Harmony 54 Low C to High F. Could be a nice travel sized keyboard, but the jury is out on sound quality since the only downloads I've found are pics. Jake
  9. The only way I have found to disable the Leslie effect is: Go into cabs section.Choose Guitar amp (either one) and make sure "Mute" isn't lit. Go to "Mixer", dial Leslie to "0", and dial guitar amp to "10". Pure Hammond tone without much coloration. Hope this helps. Jake
  10. Similar to others. 25 years ago a college frat wanted us to play on a cruise around Manhattan island. Quoted them a price and told them 'No Hammond on the boat'. 'But we"ll pay extra'. Quoted another 1K figuring they wouldn"t pay the freight. 'No problem'. Rats, now I gotta do it. Hired my cousins to assist and mind the van. Got aboard, did the 4 hours. They wanted overtime. They knew upfront all costs, and agreed...... for 2 hours. Back at the pier. The dock is now 12 feet above the boat. I made it no problem, but the drummer was in a rush and his trap case went into the Hudson. Best money I ever made, but thank God for clonewheels. We got paid cash that night. Jake
  11. Really glad you don't use live chickens........ Jake
  12. Thas is just ... insane. You"ve met my wife, I see....... Jake
  13. Be positive in your outlook. That studio might be gone, but you and your passion and talent are still here. Prepare for another go. Spend time now to write your own syllibus. Use other method books as a guide, but analyze what works and what could be better, then create your own lessons. Test them out on some friends, get feedback, and prepare for Round 2. In the meantime visit that piano twice a week. It will provide you with inspiration to get this this issue behind you and remind you that this is a temporary setback: Music will survive. Jake
  14. Read all about it New Nord Yeah I know it's clickbait, but I got suckered by the title. I wonder if old Hans himself can declare patent infringement...... Jake
  15. Still doing this silliness after almost 50 years, and until recently always got me work. Finally graduated to a fretless. [video:youtube] Jake
  16. I wonder if Mel Brooks named the governor in 'Blazing Saddles' after coming across this........ Jake
  17. Salvation for old farts like me...... Glorious! Jake
  18. X-stands (previously noted) and a Roland KC........... And lived to tell about it. Jake
  19. I remember when you didn"t even need to buy a keyboard stand. My Wurlitzer 140B had legs that screwed into the removable top cover, my Univox Organizer and Honer Planet T both came with stands that were angle adjustable. Jake
  20. You can"t buy a clone for that money - with a real Leslie, to boot. I hope it gets a good home. Jake
  21. I do try to be informative and positive, so it"s taken me 19 years to reach the 950 post range. That being said my biggest issue is when I type out a long reply and fat finger the back arrow on the iPad before I send it. After a few minutes of expletives I just move on and my creativity remains unshared. Jake
  22. Adan, I pay my lease company roughly $35.00 - 50.00 a month, and I usually get a credit from my utility company. My favorite sport is watching the electric meter roll backwards........... Jake
  23. I combined my drone footage with B3X to produce a salute to the USA's 244th birthday. If you watch carefully Marty the Beagle makes a cameo appearance in the front door side lights. [video:youtube] Jake
