  1. I literally read this book to pieces, circa 1987
  2. Another KL-8 user here. Having a MIDI interface is a bonus. The only thing I don’t like about it is the power adapter with it’s proprietary connector to the KL-8. cheers, Canoe
  3. Thanks for your insight, guys. cheers, Canoe
  4. Hey gang, I know that prices go up over time, but I think the increase in this case is, maybe a wee bit excessive! I bought a new Rev 2, 8 voice keyboard just before Covid for $2000 Canadian. That keyboard at the same retailer is now $3500 Canadian. Is this increase in line with what you have seen in the industry over the past 5 years? Curiously yours, Canoehead
  5. In my previous band, I did sequence the intro to Europe’s The Final Countdown. I played the lead synth horn and pad sound along with the sequence. It was always well received. cheers, Canoe
  6. Not sure if this is helpful, given your location. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-piano-keyboard/mississauga-peel-region/roland-midi-controller/1686131152
  7. Does it have the same action as the VK 8? To date, that is my favourite clone wheel action.
  8. Jasper’s 6-tier keyboard stand Roland RD 88. Currently, in this neck of the woods, they seem to be blowing out the RD 88 now that the RD 08 has been released.
  9. Great story! I’ve been watching Dennis’ YouTube channel for the past few months and man, he is impressive.
  10. The Nord Stage 3 and Kronos provide all the synth power that I need. However, there are times I take the Prophet 6 and Voyager, if space allows, because I want to darn it! 😀 This is for my previous band playing 80s rock and an upcoming project focusing on Canadian rock.
  11. Yamaha 02R mixer I remember salivating over the 02R when it was released. A bandmate had one that had some bad xlr inputs. He just wanted to get rid of it and asked if I’d take it. I gave a resounding “Yes!” it’s bigger and heavier than I imagined. Even without those faulty xlr inputs I think it might make a nice keyboard submixer for my wee studio and I’m looking forward to puttering around with it.
  12. I usually lay tile in Gb because, well, that way my floor is really flat. 😀
