  1. Throw the new HX-3.5 inside of it.Sounds better too.
  2. Wow. Always had issues with the last Editor and Flash Upgrader. Did get it to work but once I got what I wanted, never touched it again, as each new upgrade worked fine, but was painful. Not anymore. This whole upgrade sounds better, looks better, works flawlessly, one touch. If you have an HX-3, this really is a great deal considering the new drawbars, Reverbs, CaM Rotor, etc. I bought the extended license for extra drawbars, not the GM. Don't have a clue what it sounds like or does. I"d never use it, I have high quality samples so downgrades are of no interest. Thanks Keyboard Partners
  3. Ah yes. 5.61 MIDI Editor and firmware. Custom made CC sets. Love it when developers hook you up. It was only a month ago and now it"s done. Love deez guys
  4. I saw this coming too. My first gig was a Trio using a Yamaha QX-1. Sounded great having kicks and Bass sequences, plus vocal FX. Going back to page one is easy for me, I"ve already decided no more Tributes or even bands for a while. Me and a Guitarist doing HipHop and making it a live Kareoke where we have 3 different male and female singers. Once we start playing more will want to come. Even have a club right on the intersection of a Main Vegas thorough fare and the Highway. Big parking lot, fast exit onto the highway to avoid the PoPo. Start gigging on the 3rd of July doing weekends only 3 miles from the house. Things worked out OK.4 months of pre production, Bass and kick mixed with LoFi and reverse Vox, all on the AkaI MPC Live in stand-alone mode. Live vocal FX use the TC VoiceRack and Electro Harmonix auto tune/vocoder. HipHop is easy and fun. Going to be some fine trim too. Get some.
  5. We"re already getting summer gigs by calling our show a Protest with Live Music. Masks for 10 bucks each and we fine people 20 bucks for breaking social distancing guidelines. Gonna get some../
  6. Anyone paying quarterly self employment taxes got unemployment as normal in your state. The extra federal kick in actually comes close to what I averaged per month/quarter. Never collected before, but since I"ve always paid and reported earnings I didn"t wait more than 6 days to get a Debit Card. In July I must fill out weekly claims and lie about looking for work. It"s stupid, but a one size fits all approach doesn"t cover Casinos or Green Sheet jobs, much less deductions for agents, etc. Which is why I sent a letter to my Sate Reps 4x-lain*ng to them I"m the guy you need to help you fix your antiquated designs from the last century. These folks know nothing of commissions, tips, etc.
  7. Check Ammo Case Foam, the kind you can shape by removing chucks. I shaped the foam around a large Physis K4 then Sprayed Flex Seal around it, total cost 26bucks, slides in and out of ATA Cases or my Gig Bagthats a softy.
  8. I"m sweaty and blind so these work fine. free photo upload and share
  9. Emerson Lake & Bill Evans. Tight too.
  10. Yepp. My brothas" are those I do business with.
  11. I like Keyscape layered onto PianoTeq. I need big sounds for live work so precision in tone from Keyscape with the beef of PTeq is awesome. But I could use another Rhodes in Kontakt so PianoTeq can do Piano/Rhodes Zawinul layers. Got everything Orangetree made and use his guitars for acoustic and backing leads, etc. Great quality in your face samples. Guess I gotta get this one, I"m tired of Cantebury because of the lower B note. Everytime I hit high velocity on that B note it really chaps my ass.
  12. I"m an FC7/Ashby Adapter addict. But also like the M Audio as it doesn"t budge like certain models. It"s my spare because it"s smaller and fits in my tool bag
  13. Bought my Physis K4 from them. Sweetwater & Kraft for me. Don"t need deals, but rather a nice rapport in case I need a demo rental during repair, or a fast shipment to a preferred customer.
  14. Or go for stage friendly DJTechTools Chroma Caps and Faders. If your playing live they"re great to se grab without slipping, etc. Otherwise why not go directly to Moog support? The new Moog One knobs are definitely custom.
  15. Engineering graduates might be envious, where as musicians, drug dealers and hoes are all in entertainment. We"re pretty much content with each other"s biz. Maybe get your Engineering bros" a hook up with a hoe and enjoy some strange. That and a big beak packing might change their perspective...
  16. Cost with return of the old HX-3 was 380 USD. I think it was a great deal and there"s a better quality of build, sound, control, a very worthy upgrade. Another 90 bucks for the extended license, haven"t had time to dig into yet, bought it basically because I like supporting those who make me sound good. Elmer it isn"t a laptop, just my QWERTY on top of the rack. The top rack is the TC VoiceRack with the TC Microphone option. I get extra gigs and pay for making vocalists sound polished live. Been using automated vocal fx since the hardware sequencer days. Worth the extra effort.
  17. Need help. Old HX-3 was easy to create custom MIDI CC Templates, close to NI B4, but I selected many and changed numbers except the drawbars. New Editor I can"t find the same page, so I guess this is new. Anybody with new HX 3.5 + Extended license, I need to get this out of the way by next week. Thanks 4 any help.
  18. Mini Vent is for Vocals and Sampled Guitar, and the CaM Rotory effect is very good, so need need for the Vent II. I always missed that JBL Horn Driver tone, digital Tube Distortion was never enough. They somehow have right amount of distortion and the tone is really close to the recollections of my 147"s. The Tube and pre amp routings are truly effective. I"m very pleased but the MIDI Editor is deep as the Grand Canyon, but the options are numerous, far more advanced than I expected. Carsten and his crew are top shelf guys. Even before Covid-19 they offered to send me one, then send my old HX-3 back so I had no down time. Now I"ve got a 90 day window. Unfortunately I bought a WaveState and an AkaI MPC Live to also master by then. I need therapy.
  19. Just came in from Deutschland today. If you think USPS is bad try DHL.
  20. Added the AkaI MPC Live, and the Mini Vent II. Awaiting the new HX-3.5. Still trying to learn the Wavestate, but I"m tearing my rigs apart with all this time off.
  21. Racked PC for samples and Soft synths. Softies only good for mid range polyphonic work. Hardware HX 3.5, Hardware WaveState (hacked keybed), & SE-02 module. Keyboard Partners module was nice and half rack able, but I got everything right where I need it. Aka Live MPC and WaveState each get a Manhassett Stand, only big racked unit now is the TC Helicon VoiceRack. Pretty much roll this in after snapping and capping a little. Even have my speaker tree slide under the rack too.
  22. Yeah the Roland and TC Voicerack got everything covered. Surprised at the quality since I used these 20 years ago. Just waiting for GC and Sam Ash to open, will try several bass amps with the MPC Bass lines I made. Pretty cool having lithium powered gear to take anywhere. Thanks guys
  23. The budgets are getting slashed in Casinos, the Conventions and Corporate gigs were all cancelled. No biggie I can do solo Piano, but it"s boring, I don"t need the money, I need the action, seeing fine trim. Dancing, etc. Club bands are stuck at 100 per member and I"m tired of compromising with others on picking somgs only older folks like me like. My answer, I bought the Akai MPC Live, and will use it for drums and bass. I bought the Roland Vocoder Pedal and TC VoiceRack with programmable Microphone. Going to be the live Karaoke EPiano man. I will play EPianos, synth licks, horns, etc. I"ve already got 2 dancer/singer types, but they"re not going to be full time, so I decided to get all of the Arianna Grande, CardiB, etc. type tunes programmed and use different singers all the time. My niece sings all of this music and said I will make a fortune since clubs down here doing this are big wait in line Casino clubs. Smaller clubs off strip will be perfect. Plus they"re DJs only, nobody jams live keys, those cats get big money too. Gonna get me some. I"m going dress like Will Ferrell and call myself Gator and the Ho"s just like the movie. Can"t start giggin until Summer but have already nailed 6 popular hip hop tunes. Screw these tributes, I"m burnt out on them anyway. Got me a Cool hat, fake gold teeth and a Mr. T. Starter kit (a few big gold chains) Gonna get some, gonna get paid to have fun again. Farewell boring ass tributes. Going for the Gator look. are there any banks open today
  24. Looking for anyone with experience using hardware based AutoTune FX. Don"t suggest Tascam, it"s a POS. Can"t believe they even tried to pawn that off. Just bought the Akai MPC Live and a TC VoiceRack. Voice rack has everything I need except the AutoTune, hence the request. Also no longer performing in larger productions, prepping for small budgets, small clubs. What"s a great sounding Bass Amp, the smaller the better since Im already lugging 2 separate small PAs for separation. Thanks
  25. I threw some 5 1/4' FDD"s into my ancient QX-1 to see what would work and was shocked the 384ppq that made me successful when I was a kid still rocked my new rig. Just reassigned MIDI Channels and the old Mahavishnu, Weather Report, ELP stuff sounds so much better than Emulators and Roland S760s I used. No idea about my SCSI HDD still works. It"s a massive 1GB and the size of a shoebox. If I had my PC and a WaveState with the QX-1 in 1985 I coulda been a contenda...
