  1. The scientific explanations and other great advice offered here doesn't do anything for my needs. I just set the SSv3 at Noon everywhere turn it on and play. No additional settings, stands, Sub cabinets, wings of Plexiglass. The amps works like a champ w/o all of the engineering feats. Only thing that is different is it sounds better than a pair of K12s no matter where I stand or when I listen to others play my rig. Maybe if I ever get forced by gunpoint to play Smooth Jazz I'll need a sub, but the KW 181s of our PA add so much sub freqs. my B1200D isn't getting any use. This amp sounds great out of the box just the way it is. Perhaps the XITE-1 makes it so easy and hands free to operate. Then again just plugging my Solaris directly into it again beats the K12s hands down, w/o no need to audition more than a single preset. Aspen did an excellent job. At 1,050 USD less than the QSC's cost.
  2. You don't need to check the Barometer or see which way the wind is blowing with the highly scientific mathematically made SSv3. Just plug in and play. First time I used this everyone assumed it was the PA and side fills, but last weekend had a guy sit in during the sound check and the SSv3 carried across the entire room, probably 200 seats. Then when the PA kicked in my keys had only one sweet spot. Everywhere. After all of the scientific studies and seminars I can conclude this amp is a winner. No need for extra Sub, baffles or reflectors, no need for any tweaks either. Everything set at noon, amp sits on an empty 8U Anvil case (hollow). The band is full of players with chops and ears, so sure we are loud, but loud in the FOH. On Stage loud enough to keep a mix with the drums.
  3. Al has an XITE-1 'eh.......? Heard that's what they use on the big jobs...
  4. Digital is the answer, wireless too. But I understand as I have old school buddies that still like coiled headphone cables by Alexander Graham Bell.
  5. Vocals are sure nice through the SSv3 too. Hooked up the antiques and used the basic Reverb>Pitch ADT emulation and it was big. If I were a singer that didn't like IEMs, and some guys just don't, this would be a great replacement to those last century wedges.
  6. Coming from a Soniccore XITE-1 I use the Zaollo Silver for the SSv3, XLR to TRS, then Mogami Gold XLR to XLR when I need the Sub. Coming from a keyboard just for shits and grins I used the audio from my Solaris instead of the digital connection I always use and the Mogami XLR TRS Gold had the same noiseless high fidelity sound I get from digital. The guy who first mentioned the B1200D here needs a round of applause. I usually wouldn't be caught dead with Behringer years back, but since the Midas acquisition, have the X32 and couldn't be happier having that for a PA Mixer. So took the chance and this little 12 gets a great low end sound, and the signals getting passed to the SSv3 have no degradation compared to when it's running in stand alone.
  7. Hey Marzzz. No way I can stop using the Physis, it's too great for live performance, but I always wanted a VAX77. I kicked in at KS after I saw your post. In Nashville through 2015 then back to Vegas. I don't like Snow, or Manager/father/boyfriend types. Side gig makes the pain go away though. We shall watch and wait together again 'eh..?
  8. Drawbars can be inverted. FWIW Kraft Music sells these w/o the Children's Bundle for 2100 USD. This controller is a God send. I use custom made CC# Devices in the Scope DSP Platform for live work, so I simply apply a CC# 96 to one and it will then control as many other CC's as I wish to use. In the case below, I have presets for every style of drawbar swelling I need. The Target and Destination can have speed set with curve modifiers, and lag processors so the swells can be exactly where you wish each drawbar to start and end, as well as their speed and return rates. Uriah Heep/Boston/Argent, all players had different combinations, sounds and uses, so these come in handy. I get whatever swell I want by sending a Prgm.Chng. message then stomp down and pull back on the FCV 100 Expression pedal. You do not need to "feel" your way, the feel is already set in the DSP Device, just stomp on it, then pull it back. The rotary speed, vibrato, stop rotor, perc, all 13 other VB3 parameters I need are quickly accessed. Even have CC# 99 on the MRotary gain as a negative value so when I return to a percussiive less drawbar sound, the volume is equal to the drawbars at full swell. Separate Master Volume for the Scope XITE-1 Mixer covers overall volume, and the B1200D and SSv3 with slightly wide settings sound like a kick ass Rotary/Doppler stack from Hell. Also in Kontakts' Session Horns, they hard wired the Do-iT's and Falls to the PBend Wheel. At first I thought it was a drag as I often do Hammond/Rhodes or Upright Piano with Horns, no time for the Jan Hammer one hand solo stuff. But I took the 1st switch on the dual switch FS-6 assigned it to pedal 3 on the K4 using PITCH in the Zone area (also where all pedals are calibrated and set up) gave it a value of 64 (no PBend) then a negative value of 30 (as I wanted Falls not rises) and the perfect amount of Fall with proper speeds is now a simple step and release movement, no need to hit twice for toggle or any other wasteful moves, the K4 does everything you can possibly think of. Actually made me a MIDI mad man using the MC3000 for years, but the K4 made me step it up even more. If you play live and do more than B3 Piano stuff, this Dog Will Hunt. http://s9.postimg.org/6e2c7xh6n/untitled1.jpg upload picture
  9. Stereo IEMs can be pretty darn nice when you have means to dial them in and control them yourself via iPad/iOS device or individual console Agreed, and have used them since the late 90s, always upgrading when the new drivers were available. Just spoiled from having really good Engineers and an old Midas board didn't hurt either. X32 Rack works well with the I-connectivity and tools, I just don't have the time for tweaks in between songs. SSv3 and sidefills will let my JHAs have a break for a while longer until they come out with 8 ways...... Cheerz
  10. We need a Spacestation Forum... Got my Sub and Cables and SSv3 w/ the B1200D is the most portable, powerful stage Monitor rig I ever had. Barbetta's and 41 Sub forever, then QSC-K12s, both rigs had to be driven hard to get a good sound, but this combo is top shelf all the way. I had no crackling with the SSv3 alone, and the SUb just was the icing on the cake. I play in a loud group but the Guitarist is far side so all I get is Bass and a 30 inch Kick drum. K12s are the side fills now so I can hear everyone thanks to the X32 rack we use. Also I send Toslink from my rig to the X32, then the XLR's go the Sub/SSv3. I was just about ready to break out my pair of JH Audio Pro 6 ways, but not now, everything is fine. Besides the IEMs are really only good when you have a good FOH/Monitor man. Thanks Aspen.
  11. Doppler simulations are excellent and a great hardware FX unit also really helps. The TC Fireworx is my choice out of the 7 or 8 ancient FX I have laying around. It has excellent reverbs for when I wish to bathe in glory, but the modulation width and quality is awesome. My cheezy VB3 with Multiband Saturator and MRotary from Melda sound so big for a plug in based set up I am quite pleased. The Side speaker really is what makes this set up sing. SSv3 was punished by my FAT Analog synths. That's the real test for any amp/powered stage rig. SSv3 is a champ for big fat bastards from the analog era. http://s27.postimg.org/xk8236ws3/IMG_0558.jpg upload pics
  12. Still would love to hear which cabling works the best. Dual TS or dual TRS. I can then order my stuff custom lengths and quality. All of my gear is 48k Digital, even the hardware FX so with the AES/EBU and ADAT being used, XLRs are open and nothing but the best for SSv3. Zaollo cable for this gem of an amp. Nothing less.
  13. Well mine arrived last week and sounds great, I would love to hear what the optimal cable style is, TS or TRS, lengths, etc. I am running a Solaris hardware synth, Rack Mounted Analog Mono synths SE-1/SE-1X, Kontakt, PianoTeq, VB3, u-He and all gets mixed in the Scope DSP XITE-1 rack, where TC ELectronics Fireworx and DSP FX treat things. ALso the Physis K4 is incredible, I can do whatever my brain is capable of doing, launching clips, old Zawinul style dual PBend riffs. PianoTeq Pro 5 Upright, Rhodes and 200A sound so much better than Scarbe and Neo SOul, I wrote them off and made room for Hollywood Strings and LASS. All I am waiting for is the Sub, didn't really need it but after hearing my KLA and KW 153's without the Sub knew it was a crucial piece of kit. First impressions were awesome though as I recently had to do Baba O'Riley using Piano Octaves as the right hand triggers and plays arpeggios. After the initial "wow" factor set in I ran the SE-1X and Zebra together for a dual mono bass/lead split, then added Solaris. Played for hours with no interuptions..........Sweetness indeed. http://s3.postimg.org/gppgv92er/IMG_0556.jpg gifs upload
  14. B>Van from SW called me early today and said the SSv3 was shipped out, see it down here Saturday. Won't be back from giggin' till Monday but what a sweet surprise. I can leave my K12s at the rehearsal hall since they have been turned into side fills. Thanks Aspen for getting them here before the big shut down that is going on now until who knows when...... I still have admiration for my brothers of the Longshoresmen, just glad our shipments slipped through... Cheerz.
  15. At first it looked like a SSv3 was already sitting in it. Great idea as long as it fits fairly well. Suppose I could stuff a few Air Travel neck pillows in it just to be sure, they collapse really well, so well I bought 6 of them. Thanks
  16. The MKIIS do sound nice. I bought one last Fall thinking it was the newer III and didn't know until I read this thread, then looked at SW to find out they just updated their page. It will be my spare now as it is plenty loud for a stage monitor, and I do work with Marshall/Twin stacks and an ancient beat up SV4 that sounds 10 times better than the ones made in the last 20 years. MKIIs pop up every couple of months in Nashville, they don't last long either.
  17. Excellent news indeed. I can't wait to get it, ordering the Behringer Sub so I will have both in time for March.....!!!
  18. But Stereo Inputs and 300 USD is hard to pass up. You would need a Stereo Bass Combo Amp. As rare & useful as a stereo Kick Drum mic... Would love to see a Spacestation Sub with an Emminence 12. Same Grill. Maybe even small side ports. Yum-Yum..
  19. Thanks RickP. Didn't want to break my back for nothing. Better do some homework and find the perfect Sub. But I am still getting use to seeing that name and flipping the page. X32, ADAT Mic Pre's,...etc. Pretty good kit for the price. Cheerz and Thanks for the heads up.
  20. Please do, I won't need one for a few months, but definitely want to hear about it. Otherwise I will be taking mono out of 2 x KW181s into the SSv3. No biggie really but 200 lbs. worth of Subs is a little overkill.
  21. Oh, and Aspen Pittman too, or we wouldn't have this kick ass Stage Monitor. Thanks Again Gents, great forum, lots of cats gigging.
  22. Nice to hear about the Sub 1st being used. I was always accustomed to other methods until I got QSC KW153/KW181 Bundle. Once I took the stereo out from the X32 into the Subs, then to the KW153's I realized this placement of Sub 1st rules supreme. Way more control w/ Crossovers, etc. I just need a behind the head, small stereo/3D sound as I do not like IEMs for this particular Group. I don't sing and I definitely want to hear every player involved. IEMs are great for getting rid of Vocals, players who have no ears, but chops, etc. If I need to fill up a small venue that Behringer looks perfect as it has the Stereo Ins. Over at Behringer someone is definitely listening to the wants of performers.
  23. I purchased one back in January didn't bother asking when, as I prefer just getting a phone call like I did when Kraft sent my Physys K4. When I get the call, then I can get excited. But just curious what part of Februrary, close to the end..?
  24. I get the next batch. MKII will keep me happy until then. Can't wait for the v3. Ever since I got the MKII I have been salivating. Too bad you can't use the Pacific ports in Mexico like China does. Take the NAFTA Superhighway North and save a bundle.
