I suspect that the TP100 wasn't designed from the outset as a Rhodes-like action. It was more like "make something light to compete with Yamaha and Casio!" "Here, this feels horrible, will that do?" "It's fine, ship it"
I'm looking forward to trying the TP110.

But seriously, a few question:
- What is your budget? Would you be willing to trade your Arturia for something that could act as a controller for your software setup AND give you "switch on and go" capabilities?
- What sounds do you need? If you like SV2, I'm guessing: acoustic piano, Rhodes, Wurlitzer. Anything else?
My first thought was something like a Casio PX5s, which has good EPs and capable controller abilities. But no onboard speakers.

This. Particularly when the instrument plays exactly the same notes/rhythms as were originally sung. It sounds very stilted and unnatural.
I have no problem with an instrument taking on a melody and playing it idiomatically for that instrument. But vocal and instrumental idioms are different.

This. Many "pure" controllers struggle to send MIDI program change in a way that's useful to a live/gigging musician. The best controllers tend to have on-board sounds (step forward the venerable Casio PX-5).

If you want to spend $1000+ on a mono amplification system for keys, I would look at RCF, Electrovoice, FBT, possibly QSC/Yamaha - ahead of a company that makes jazz guitar amps.

It's the same thing isn't it? If you add a 100% ANC (out-of-phase) and 10% transparency (in-phase) you get 90% ANC. I presume that Sony are simply varying the relative amplitude of "ANC" and "transparency" in their implementation of "Ambient Sound" (1-20).
Now what would be cool is to combine this "dial in the quantity of ambient sound you like" feature with a limiter function: something that dynamically monitors external sound and momentarily ramps up the ANC to compensate for the excessive ambient SPL. Yes this would probably incur the "clipping" artefact that you heard at the Cameo gig, but if that saves your hearing it's probably worth it.
I don't know if Apple are the company to deliver this holy grail: I'm yet to be convinced that they get the musician/audiophile market (this would be useful for gig-going audience members as well). Sony should be able to deliver this. Sennheiser definitely understand this market sector (their modern true-wireless buds sound amazing) but I don't know if they have the tech know-how to deliver the kind of "adaptive transparency" processing that Apple have achieved.

What would be cool is live-programming a percussion/drum track with a looper - either acoustic instruments (shaker, tambourine, cajon etc.) or on a SPX/Octapad-style device. Let that run while you switch to keys/guitar.

I was thinking about a chromebook-tablet (Lenovo Duet something) which gives you 13in screen and the ability to run Android apps, as a large-screen score reader solution.

Love James Morrison. There's a clip of him playing trumpet in his RH and (slide!) trombone in his LH - call and response! His piano playing's pretty solid too.
