or provide routing function to group one or more DINs to individual USB C ports.

So in my example, you could route the DX7 to play a CT-S1+P125 layer?

If they're going to go that route, they really need fully configurable routing from any DIN/USB-C to any number of UDIN/US-C ports, and that requires a richer user interface (or an app or similar to configure). Sipario have a product that does this, but only one USB host, and not USB-C.

Why not patch them all to a single USB C port?

I guess this way allows you to connect a Casio CT-S1 to a DX7, and simultaneously a Yamaha P125 to a Roland D50, and simultaneously a Kawai ES120 to a Korg M1. Clearly this is not a MIDI interface (to connect to a host, such as a laptop or tablet), this is a 6-way host, designed to connect to USB devices.

Not seeing it there. I may have to find something at the hardware store that’ll work.

    Thanks.

You could contact K&M's support dept on their website - they're responsive. They could advise you where to obtain a spare part - or simply say "you need a M6x50mm knob".

But it was my first real gigging organ, and I do miss having a 70-something key board with a waterfall action that I could actually cover an entire gig with (that means organ, piano, electric piano, clav, and even some moderately-tweakable synth patches).

Nord Electro (depending on your definition of "moderately-tweakable") or Stage, and Hammond SK73 are today's contenders.

Plus, when I used the D-Beam controller to change the Leslie speed, everyone thought I was using The Force. A great axe!

Roland VR730 has the D-Beam and everything else you need, but not the waterfall action I believe.

The action on the VR700 (and the earlier VR760) made it super-desirable.

(All I could find so far)

I wouldn't pay that much. That would buy you a Crumar 61 or Legend Solo, wouldn't it?

More like it. I'm putting my chip on $999 US/€999/£999.

    Glad you're enjoying the YC88!

I'm considering a used CP4 now that I'm picking up some gigs again (sold my immaculate CP4 years ago, wish I'd held onto it). I've found one that looks relatively tidy with the exception of some scuffs and scratches, but nothing serious. Hopefully the action plays OK (I suspect it's been gigged a fair bit). Asking price is around $1050 USD which I think seems about right?

FWIW I haven't played the CP88 or YC88 for more than a few minutes; as long as I stay away from those I should still be happy with how the CP4 feels/sounds.

It's practically begging you to respond "I'll give you a grand for it?".

What’s the difference between a flute player and a French horn player?

That escalated fast. Reminds me of the story of the pianist playing in a swanky bar - when he comes back from break somebody has left a long-stemmed red rose in a slender vase on his piano alongside a note: "8pm. One rose on your piano. Midnight. Tulips on your organ".

Huh - you wouldn't think that HS would be the company to launch a competitor to the Microkorg

perhaps better to think of it as a desktop organ module with drawbars and all the controls., comes with a bonus 4 octave keyboard that is sufficient and convenient for casual players wanting some organ tones for comping.

for the serious organists, you can always midi it up, just like you would with a hammond sound module.

ps. were there not many very popular tonewheel hammonds with 4 octave manuals,  albeit two of them?

To be clear - I was gobsmacked, but I wasn’t criticising. Although if I were HS, I would have gone for 44 keys, like half an M3.

I believe Nord use Fatar actions, so if you like the feel and want to save a few thousand, is it worth trying something like a studiologic controller or a Numa Piano?

Not all Fatars are created equal. The TP/40 and /400 families are very different from the /100, and the (sprung) /8 and /9 are also unlike each other. Then there's the detail that the same action (TP/40M, say) can feel different in different installations.

I personally think the actions are Nords main weakness, but of course, actions are a very personal thing.

The latest Nord hammer actions in the Piano 5 and Stage 4 are based on the /40, but with a third sensor, and have had great reports, including from those who didn't like Nord's earlier installations of the /40.

I do agree that if you like the sounds of your CK upstairs, then a Numa X 73 is a great pairing for significantly less than the Nord Piano 5. The Numa has a TP/110 action, which is unknown to me, but many here like it. By contrast, the recent review in Sound on Sound of the Kurzweil SP7+ criticised the same TP/110 action. It's all very subjective...

Good: poly-aftertouch. Audio interface. Real 5-pin MIDI. MIDI 2.0. Expression pedal input. Music/tablet rest.

Bad: proprietary PSU and USB-B connector (why not use USB-C, and allow power that way?). No faders (that's 9 too few).

Strange: what's the second MIDI port - MIDI in? What does that do on a controller?

EDIT: I see our own @pjd has posted on this as well http://sandsoftwaresound.net/korg-keystage-midi-2-0/

    Cheers, Mike.
