  1. I see since then you've been working out, just in case it happens again. right? Not only that, it is also the only way how I work out anymore.
  2. I've been reading through this whole thread thinking how incredibly fortunate I was these things never happened to me, but the other thread regarding Crumar Mojos just made me remember a little story. I used to play a couple of gigs a year in a small city in the Netherlands. I actually once saw kanker playing there with a blues band. It's a very pretty and rustic place with narrow cobblestone streets. They've done the smart thing to prioritize bicycle traffic and pedestrians, so for public transport and travelling by car, there's basically just one very long one way street through the inner city, and that's it. Of course, the venue was right in the middle of the inner city. Setup time would always be after 9pm, with downbeat just around 10 (for those of you who are wondering, yes, it was a jazz gig, plug and play style). When I arrived by car one evening, the lil' road through the city center was closed for some sort of maintenance work. I think they were decorating the streets with christmas lights. It's a smart tactic for 99.9% percent of the population to have these kinds of things done at night - the roads are clear during rush hour and the workers can work without traffic - but not that great for late night gigging jazz organ players... I tried some alleys and sideways, but there was no getting through. So I parked the car, took a deep breath, put the Crumar Mojo organ on my back. Yes, the original soft case came with backpack-straps. I had always wondered what for. Apparently for that particular night. Picked up the stand with my left and a friggin QSC K10 with my right and walked about a mile to the venue. I had to stop every other minute to rest and change hands for the heavy amp. I arrived at the venue sweating like a marathon runner and of course it kinda sucked playing with hurting hands from all the schlepp. Thank god they had beer!
  3. Huh, damn. Have you had a look inside? I had a problem about a year ago when the screws that held the motherboard came loose. Sometimes that led to the organ not powering up. I managed to fix it myself by finding the right kind of screws, it was kind of a simple fix.
  4. That looks like a nightmare a concert pianist would have before a big recital.
  5. Very efficient setup and nice keys! How do you control the speakers? Is that a mixer to the right?
  6. Oh, while we're on the topic of posting... It think it has been talked about before, but is it possible to deactivate the second page that you get directed to when you try to like a post? PS please don't report me, pleeeeze
  7. Yesterday night I had my first concert since 1st of march. Outdoors, plenty of distancing shown from everyone, all in all a relaxed atmosphere. Felt good to be back on stage (though I have been on fancier ones ) playing music. Can't wait for the next outdoor gig on August 30th I'm in Germany, btw. The upcoming winter season looks grim, though. I've had a club tour planned with a band in October and November, and every last one of the gigs got cancelled because promoters are unsure if people will be willing to go see indoor shows, or because they'll simply make zero money when club capacities are reduced drastically by distancing regulations. I've got one streaming gig, that's it for the rest of the year so far. Guess it's time to get back to working on the mandatory lockdown studio album and make millions in royalties from Spotify...
  8. data suggests otherwise bUt wHat aBouT my feElinGs?
  9. It's not a clone - it's a HamSuz.
  10. Sounds great, and most importantly it comes with a "Jump" preset. [video:youtube]
  11. I'll follow this topic with great interest I've heard good things about the Novations... I briefly played a NI Kontrol with synth keys (I don't remember if it was a 61 or 49) and I really wanted to like it for the fancy LED functions, but the action really sucked.
  12. I like their humor and a certain ruthlessness towards dealing with standards.
  13. I can only speak for myself, but I have a couple of students I fit into my schedule on various dates/times of day. I think if the teacher is a freelancer, it shouldn't be a big problem to schedule a couple of lessons without having a fixed regular date. I say that because for someone on a fairly basic level or re-starting piano definitely should see someone in person (as far as that's possible in Corona times) to pin point basic mistakes and bad habits as soon as possible before they become a bigger problem later on. I can't imagine an app doing that effectively.
  14. Thank you Dave and xKnuckles!
  15. Another thought, why not buy any pedal that works for several years instead of re-buying every two years and adding to the ever-mounting pile of Western consumers' trash? (I know that's not your quote there, Randelph.)
  16. Had a FCV100 for a little while (my only ever shameful Behringer purchase). Managed to resell it after a couple of weeks, IMO it's no worthy adversary to the FC7.
  17. Do you remember the time before Corona? Sure seems like it's... [video:youtube] I love the tune but in this reharm tried to get rid of some of the I vi ii V progressions.
  18. Awesome, Linwood! That sounds like A LOT of work! I really dug the muted trumpets in the beginning and the Rhodes part in the middle. I was also really tempted to do a version, but it came out nowhere as good as your's! [video:youtube]
  19. Finally watched the video. I like the top comment "if i send you my parents can you make them into vintage wurlitzers thanks"
  20. That might be the eternal question for me I used to have a softcase for my 88 without wheels that I would fling over my shoulder and carry with the shoulder strap - it would get quite tiresome on longer load-ins, but was great for stairs, gravel and other adverse terrain. Now I have a slightly heavier case with wheels. It's annoying having to pick it up for every flight of stairs, and don't get me started on gravel roads... however, last winter I had a gig where I had to transport the board from a parking garage 5 mins away to a building behind a bustling christmas market. I would have died carrying the board, but dragging it with the wheels was a breeze.
  21. Anyone else having trouble accessing the world's biggest database of flubbed notes? (sorry, I thought it was about time to bring back parody threads )
  22. Call the Apple support. I once managed to lock myself out of my iTunes account and someone from Apple talked me through it over the phone. Went very smoothly.
