    Yeah, Reezekeys, I'll step out into the open and admit it - I've played around 1000 gigs in my life and I never had anything fail on me. I usually bring one TRS cable more than necessary, that's it. I do believe there's a way to minimize 99% of gear failures, and that is treating your gear carefully. So far it has worked out fine for me.

    Well. They've been in the news as they've had the first registered corona patient on the same day as the US. The US has 24 times more cases than Korea while the population is only six times as big. Do those numbers mean anything at this point? Je ne sais pas.

    I had one for a short while. Got rid of it quickly. The build quality was very nice, but for me its short throw made it useless. I'm so used to the Yamaha FC-7, I just didn't warm up to it.

    I guess the fact that some people think it's relevant makes it relevant. My theory would be it just makes some folks feel more secure in the face of uncertainty. Any uncertainty. Speaking for myself, I'd feel more secure if I had more keyboards. Good time to pick up a cherry B3/122 for the living room. My feeling isn't logical, but it's real. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a keytar is a good guy with a cherry B3/122.

    If you're talking swing phrasing, swung eighth notes are assumed. If you wanted straight 8ths, you'd have to indicate it in the score. Syncopation means notes moved from the downbeats to the upbeats. It is frequently used in Swing, or when playing with a swing feel, but it has nothing to do with the subtle change of eighth note duration. Thanks for the sheets, Jazz+.     As music schools have been closed in my region, I'll start remote video teaching tomorrow. The YouTube thing is not an option for me atm as it is too one sided. I'll be doing WhatsApp-Video as the LoFi-version and Discord/Zoom for multiple cameras and screen sharing possibilities. I'll be testing it more with a colleague today, but I suspect Zoom has better audio quality. Like marino mentioned, it's a bit more complicated to handle than discord, though.

    The second I posted that, a colleague texted me that he had set up a multi cam teaching account on discord, so I'll try going the same route. I'll let you know how it goes.

    All my gigs for March have been cancelled & most of the gigs in April as well. In my neck of the woods, schools are closed till after easter. I suspect the music school I teach at won't be open much longer. So now I'm wondering about options for teaching remotely - maybe I should open a new thread for that? I'm thinking about which route to go, Skype and WhatsApp-Video or a more sophisticated streaming software/app?
