  1. Looks like to claim this freebie you have to add it during checkout by pressing 'Choose your free gift' then 'Claim gift'. I didn't know 'til after purchasing the UAD essentials bundle unfortunately. Still happy to have these UAD plugins.
  2. You can type w/ yer eyeballs w/ Apple goggles, bet musical keyboard apps may work similarly.
  3. Here's a recent interview with Shaffer. Monk does great interviews, Paul's cool as ever. Off to watch this Fagen video now: https://youtu.be/B1IpLbvXn28?si=rSiFPoQnqY4FMuBt
  4. Lost a screw, spacers and a couple washers from K&M 18880 week before last. Had to keep my knee under left side of keyboard stand entire set to keep it upright. Next day, Elder's Ace Hardware in Nashville, TN fixed me up with a spacer and metric screw that works pretty well. I'll be going to Ace Hardware stores more often, hopefully not for kb stand repair.
  5. Afraid I bought mine from Guitar Center used and someone had already registered it on IKM site But reading that thread above, it looks like it wouldn't be able to successfully update anyway. Seems like most companies don't require registration to access firmware updates. What's up IKM?
  6. Have only had my 25 a few months and use it mainly with Pianoteq iOS to practice on the road and in the bed (with iPad Pro 3rd generation and sometimes iPhone 13.) It seems to like 44100 Hz sample rate (set in Pianoteq) best. On 48 or above a weird sweepy phase sound happens every 30 seconds. Even on 44.1 it drops a note once in awhile. With the iPhone I occasionally have to turn iRig off and back on to get Apple Music audio reconnected to it. Have used it with MacBook Air once or twice and connection seemed to be more solid, iirc. -- Wanna go thru manual sometime and see what settings in there can be changed with the buttons. -- Have used batteries with 25 and also bought the iRig power adapter (thinking this would charge devices, but maybe that only works with dedicated iRig i/o interfaces, not keyboards? Who knows.), but it seems to like USB power best, from the iPad Pro or MacBook. Sometimes my iPhone 13 will power it like that too, but not always. The Apple Camera connection kit with extra lightning charger port seems to provide solid power to it when used with iPhone. Those are my random, probably confusing, experiences with iRig 25 so far. Its keys are a lot better than the old iRig keys Pro 37 I used for years. TL:DR maybe changing the sample rate in Gig Performer will help
  7. no internal sounds but iRig Keys I/O 25 has been nice and handy to me in this respect lately. Wouldn’t mind having 49 keys version too.
  8. When I’m not too lazy to bring pedalboard along: Vent, organ grinder & flashback 2 delay by tc electronics. Been wanting to try strymon Volante or keeley Halo for maybe a more analog feeling delay. I have an old deluxe memory man, which I used for years, but now it’s noisy and mono.
  9. KP-610S owner here and think I bought the last one from Sweetwater before switch to SX. Recently I arrived at a show and the volume knob on channel 1 was dangling and definitely didn't work when I plugged in keyboard. I use a Tuki soft cover and figured it was ok to put soft case keyboards on top of the amp in the van. Those potentiometers are pretty fragile, a lot more so than old tube amps with the metal rods etc. I've since fashioned a protective cover out of styrofoam to go over top of that i/o knobby area now, underneath Tuki. Have been meaning to look for the perfect shaped metal/plastic cover that can be velcro'd over that section. But I contacted MotionSound on the website and they sent a couple of replacement pots free of charge. My roommate builds guitar amps so we had an easy time replacing the pot. The fella I emailed with was nice and helpful.
  10. Studio version of this tune is killer. But, live version from last nite also is 👍👍
  11. I use “modern U” sometimes and it works well on Mac and PC. (also requires UVI player) — most VST’s have irregular installations, esp. when I ignore the instructions (often the case) — to me it seems most VST’s have a tad of latency, compared to hardware instruments, and hardware have a tad compared to real acoustic piano, but I get used to it after a minute or 2. — a decent audio interface & computer allows the option to set lower buffer sizes. “32” is where I like it. “64” or “128” if things are misbehaving. — I purchased Ravenscroft for iOS and imagine/hope the desktop version sounds a lot better, due to more available sample memory etc.
  12. Used the AirPods at practice today with same loud band but used Reezekeys’ settings this time. Very happy with the results. Definitely going to continue wearing them at rehearsals and while I rarely use plugs at gigs, I may occasionally wear these AirPods if it’s an exceptionally loud situation. Thanks! I’m hoping to find a way to get iPhone to display dB levels (and amount being attenuated) in real time. It displays these when background noise is activated but that comes along with white noise/waterfall sound efx so that’s no good.
  13. Reezekeys: Adjusted following your recommendations. I didn’t add the AirPods option to Control Center but glad it ended up there. Ready for Tues evening practice. 🤞👂
  14. You’re correct. I basically opened package and off we went. Will dig into your suggested settings before next practice and report back afterwards. Thanks.
  15. Picked up a pair of AirPods Pro G2 at Target on the way to band practice and gave them a go. I didn't have time to mess with settings other than turning on Noise Cancellation and tried Transparency a little. For the first couple of songs things went really well. These were a couple of our mid-tempo more laid back tunes and it was like listening to a cd, could hear everything more clearly than usual for sure. But then the loud songs started, and I'm right next to the drummer in the narrower end of a living room. His snare drum started clipping out or overloading the AirPods and I was fearful that something was going to blow so I switched back to the regular cheapo earplugs. I'm practicing with an even louder drummer in a couple of days, and will have time to tweak settings this time. Now that I've figured out which tips fit my ears best, I think the seal created by these AirPods would make for better-that-average ear plugs, even without noise cancellation turned on. -- Listened to an hour or so of music just now on the Airpods and I'm definitely happy with the sound quality.
  16. Have been wanting a pair of AirPods for years. I use whatever cheap earplugs are around at practice (and hate the lack of treble) so I use nothing at shows. My ears are permanently ringing from this approach. Maybe AirPods will sound good enough for shows. Will give 'em a try. -- Watch out for knockoffs if you're looking for a deal. I see folks on Marketplace selling multiple units and they either robbed a truck, or might be selling replicants.
  17. Own stank, if possible. K.D. Lang once commissioned a band I was in to record a different version of one of her tunes, using just her original vocals. We did it exactly like her version, maybe a little slicker. She didn't respond when we sent it in. It was long ago and I was just the shy keyboard player and the newest addition to band. Wish we could redo that one, with some of our stank on it. Have been occasionally recording some covers with some old friends. (a memorial album for another too-soon-deceased old friend) They are trying their best to do faithful versions, but luckily we aren't too good at that hehe. The stank is stinking and it's turning out to be a pretty cool lp. The Musical Box (mentioned earlier in thread) would be an exception. I'd like to see their faithful recreations of PG Genesis albums sometime. That material could fit into several genres including classical.
  18. Spent a good bit on Auria and only use it once every few years but it works well on those occasions. Not getting Logic but would try MainStage. Bring it 🍎
  19. Big Star Love: Kanga Roo — (and most other tunes) Like: the Ballad of El Goodo Hate: the India Song Soundgarden Love: Pretty Noose Like: Rusty Cage Hate: Spoonman The Beatles Love: Happiness is a Warm Gun Like: The Word Hate: Piggies Paul Simon Love: the Late Great Johnny Ace Like: Think Too Much Hate: Cars are Cars
  20. -revision- Love: 40s-70s Like: 80s Humanity declining but grunge & hiphop have their moments Hate: 2000-present
  21. Love: 60s & 70s Like: 80s & 90s Hate: 2000-present 😛
  22. Heat vs Celtics just got a bit more interesting. Celtics finally figured the Heat out last night? Kind of hoping Celtics find a way to win 3 more, as it would be fun to watch a close series, and in the Finals they may offer more resistance against the excellent Nuggets.
  23. DX7. In the mid '80s we didn't seem to have much $ for food etc. but my dad found $ for great gear.(much to my mom's dismay :p) We programmed (and sysexed?) in some sounds and often used DX7 in conjunction with REX50 + MOTU's Composer & Performer on early Macs. I gigged with same DX7 'til around 2002. -- Now I just stick to Omnisphere, Arturia V and iPad apps but am trying hard not to buy a Prophet 6.
