The strange thing is I dreamed my Nord Electro was stolen last night! I went to get my car and when I got back it was gone.

YESSSS! The new sound guy is a keyboard player!

I figured it was a good sign when he requested that a give him a stereo feed (“The Leslie sim will sound really good.”). All in all a pretty good night under less-than-ideal circumstances. To expedite things, I said I’d forego my usual IEM feed and just relied on a line array PA and sub that a 45 degree behind me to the side, just with a little extra KB and my vocals. Small enough room that the tenor sax and trumpet went naked. Less than ideal, but we made it work. backalleyomaha.com -
Second gig with a kid who seems to know what he’s doing. People said we sounded good both nights so I take that as a sign that he does. None of the usual complaints that they couldn’t hear the KB all night. Come to find out he plays KBs as his primary instrument. Also grace under pressure as a storm blew in after one song and he was cool with tearing down and moving indoors. We restarted exactly an hour late and played for 1:45 (no break) instead of the 2:30 scheduled.

The New Restored Talking Heads “Stop Making Sense” Concert
Chris Link replied to HammondDave's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I have to confess I’d never watched this before tonight. Not enough keyboards shown even while they’re soloing. Does it appear that very little or nothing is plugged into some of the backs of some of the boards? -
Here's an example of SD doing "My Old School" without a horn section. Apologies if this has already been posted. I did not read the entire thread.

That's great to hear! Unintentional puns are the best kind.

I had some custom molds made with interchangeable filters from ACS, but they don’t seem to have a US presence anymore (just UK and Taiwan). They work nicely for loud concerts and would probably do the same for high stage volumes.

No. My grandfather shortened a very Slavic-sounding name when he immigrated. So I know all the Links I’m related to!

1913 Henry F Miller upright on FB marketplace. Looks like a hose running to the wooden box on the left.

LOL. I clicked on thinking I might pick up some tips for playing outdoors.

Clavinet part to Eagles Life in the fast lane
Chris Link replied to Iconoclast's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Henley is apparently the driving force behind this. Some guy had the vocal harmonies to a bunch of their hits (and some Beach Boys as well) broken out. Now this is something that was never available in any published form and he wasn't selling them. But Eagles, Inc. shut him down years ago. -
I need a "reasonable" keyboard amp. Help needed
Chris Link replied to Mel Salvatore's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Here's a Motion Sound stereo amp close to your price range. $749. 38 lbs. Probably plenty of power for what you need. This is what I was thinking of but I didn't see it on the MS website. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KP100S--motion-sound-keypro-kp-100s-100w-2x8-inch-keyboard-amp -

Ouch. Mine is pretty old and I didn't know they'd gotten so pricey!
