  1. Mine are; Crossroads by the band Cream from Wheels Of Fire (#1 by far in my humble opinion) 5 String Blues Roy Buchanan The Version on his Second album (And #2 in my humble opinion) (The vocal comes in real late in the song, but it is there after the piano solo which is one killer bit of keys work) Almost anything by David Gilmore during his Pink Floyd days.
  2. Excellent news Larryz, I am still using a older version of BIAB and Jammer Pro (A similar program) on an XP Pro laptop used for that purpose. I use the MIDI export function so I can use samples in Sonar and then edit the MIDI's before rendering them to audio. However once I get my new DAW up and running, I will probably pull the trigger on a new version for the DAW. But still keep the XP laptop for a spare. I have been using MIDI in recording since I began with my analog set up in the Mid 80's. I have a real good knowledge in how to manipulate MIDI to my taste such as using edit tools in Sonar to transpose, before rendering them to audio and remove the MIDI generated bends and other data. My first computer recording set up was run by a Mac Plus (that's how long ago) I used the Mac to use MOTU's Performer 1 a MIDI only sequencer and I controlled some MIDI capable modules such as synths and samplers and SMPTE time code to lock the sequencer to the tape decks. And yes to answer Jimi's question, I am experienced.
  3. & a toast to Grandma for her wisdom handed down.
  4. I could not get the videos to play without buffering pauses, so I went to You Tube, and here is the live raw version of the same tune in the same place with the same band. A little different sounding
  5. Classic Hendrix playing. I don't know the intent of the people putting it out, probably a profit based motive. In any case. It sounded like Hendrix.
  6. I can't eat cheese, dairy, nor wheat. So I won't miss them.
  7. Good news amigo. Whats the final tally? Let us know when it closes.
  8. I do have that Studio Projects C-1 which I use only for recording vocals. I have several Sure mikes, a SM57, and a Sure SM58. I use the 57 in front of my guitar speaker for recording or if I went live. I would use the 58 for live vocals if I ever go out again. I also have an AKG C 420 head set mike which I used live back in the day, and always liked it.
  9. Unless I hit the big lotto, there is no chance of that happening in the near future.
  10. If I had the bread I would get several Neumann U 87 mikes, they cost over 3 grand each and well worth the money. When I had my analog setup, I had one and I used it on all vocals.it gave me some magic in the recording process I never found with any other mike. It only cost me a grand in the late 80's. If I regret selling any of my gear more than that one, it escapes me. https://www.amazon.com/Neumann-87-AI-MT-Microphone/dp/B00GXNTHNE I do have a Studio Projects C-1 which comes close to the Neumann U 87 but not quite as smooth. 11. I noticed that also, however I always use my tone control fully wide open on my guitars. If a certain pup is too ice picky I use the between the pup sound. I set the amp tone controls to have the cleanest tone and not too crispy. Then I find that nice between the pups sound on each guitar that I have, the partscaster and Strat Clone are between the front and middle pups for cleans, and on the Ibanez it has one setting that sounds like it is half of each hum-bucking pup. all three guitars work well that way. Then for more bite and oomph, I set my overdrive stomp tone controls, and I put that in the front of the amp for more bite.
  12. Hooray, the thing is getting closer to what it should sell for.
  13. Wish I had a nice new 1 ton pickup truck and a nice little travel trailer, (that's about 60 to 80 grand I don't want to spend at this point), My wife would rather have a class B motor home (Which is basically one of those converted vans without altering the factory shape of a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Mercedes van) That would be a hundred grand that I don't want to spend at this point. But more-so a winning Power Ball ticket (With the proceeds of which I could buy a Southern Ca. beach house)......
  14. Thanks amigo. If I was in the market for a mike I would definitely find this useful.
  15. Surprisingly excellent tone after a slow start.
  16. I do not have any need for another guitar, or I would have bid on it. Plus I do not do business with e-bay at all. I once had an account on e-bay and someone hacked into it and my pay account at the same time. It took me hours to get through to those two places so when I finally did get free of them both, I decided to do my business elsewhere. However I do hope the the thing sells for bigger bucks than is now offered.
  17. I started using my laptop today in the house the Dell Desktop is out in the shed waiting to be set up for DAW work. (Now that is going to be tricky)
  18. I might update my band in a box for the Win 10 DAW to be built very soon. I do have the old versions of BIAB as well as Jammer professional on an XP laptop that still runs, once I am out there fixing the studio up a bit, I will experiment with how well it works. I will have to load on a set of samples and synths that come with my Sonar Versions that will get the laptop up an running for MIDI file creation.
  19. My skill level was decent. I started surfing in my mid 30's I did surf some double overhead waves in Cardiff By The Sea Ca., and maybe off of Carlsbad Ca., as well. But they were only breaking top to middle. Which made it a bunch less scary. By that time I had a Surfboards Hawaii single fin pin tail gun. And those few times were the only time I ever used that board. I was a small wave rider of course from the East Coast of the USA. I surfed mostly twin fins and when the 3 fin thrust-er came out I built a few of those.
  20. Wow surfergirl. The pipe is awesome, always has been. Nothing like a 10 footer breaking in 4 feet of water to get your heart a pumpin. I never surfed big Hawaii, I did a little bit of small waves near Hanalei bay in Kauai back in the mid 1970's The day Hanalei bay broke big, I stayed on the beach, we had small twin fin boards 6' or so, too loose for big Hanalei bay. Everyone there were surfing big guns. I was awed. We went a little bit more north (I think) and surfed a smaller beach break.
