  1. No there's not an update. Same Balanced Hammer on Montage since 2016. The only time they update anything is when they make another model and completely move on from a keybed. But this same Balanced Hammer was on all the Motifs and S90's. No BHE is any heavier or lighter than another. Identical. https://usa.yamaha.com/products/music_production/synthesizers/montage/specs.html
  2. I might not have read this correctly, I haven't found any MIDI through capability on the YC. I submitted on Idea scale that they add that. Even the Motif Rack XS had Midi through switchable via the Midi OUT port. So there was no MIDI through jack, but it could be turned on in the menu.
  3. on a similar topic Blurred Lines was not anymore of a rip off than Emotional Rescue was of the Marvin Gaye song. Lawsuit was ridiculous.
  4. Hi Dave, Sweetwater is correct. No warranty . It's on the Yamaha warranty document also. "This warranty covers only the Original Owner and is not transferable." https://usa.yamaha.com/files/WARRANTY_Synthesizer_Stage_Keyboard_Stage_Piano_Products_2021_da90a6f3dd6bc3a7ae6406bf7b8052fe.pdf
  5. Baked Potato: No you want the indoor seating. You cannot see the band from the patio. You watch it on a tv screen and hear it on speakers and coming from the hallway. Was just there a few mos ago.
  6. I have a classic rock gig on Saturday April 27 at the Lincoln House in Covina. I have a YC61 and you are welcome to sit in ( I have a guitar rig too).
  7. Was Korg there and I just didn't see them? All I saw was a meeting room with their name on it.
  8. One of my Doors rigs is a midi controller and two Motif XS Racks, and of course I went all the way to Venice, CA 45 mins away without the racks once. A waiter at the venue saved me, he had a cheap Williams Digital piano that could be split and had a passable organ and piano, I made it through the gig. Incredibly lucky May this never happen to us again!
  9. Yes it will. Always back up first before doing any update on a keyboard. It is in red on warnings: All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized by this updater. Please make sure that you save all User data to a USB flash drive before performing this update. https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/yc61_yc73_yc88_os.html
  10. thanks the search took me back to the wrong topic and I didn't check. Since the CK just came out there's no updates yet. So hopefully this gets added down the road too.
  11. Panning just got added in the latest os update and includes organs. https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/9/1382649/yc88_yc73_yc61_en_sm_c0.pdf
  12. We had a guy sit in with us a few times here in Orange County, CA 2007-2010. He was a great keyboardist, but he lied as much as that D.C. politician from Brazil that’s in trouble for that. He told us he was in Rainbow, except he told the wrong band that and didn’t realize I am a Blackmore super fan , and I instantly knew he was lying. I got my revenge by posting about it on a Deep Purple forum. It was incredible , one of his friends chimed in telling us he lied to them too, telling them he was the wizard from Three Dog Night! One of my drummers was in a 3 Dog Night tribute, this guy shows up and then doesn’t know any of the songs. Whoops. Caught. He’s since died of cancer. He actually is on some CD’s , one from Joe Lynn Turner and Kelly Keeling’s brilliant Sight to the Eye, which I’ve had since 2005. Should have left it at that instead of making stuff up.
  13. Found these. So no it won't be covered unless you send it to the original owner. Once it's sold as used it is not under warranty. https://usa.yamaha.com/support/warranty/index.html "Yamaha products purchased from retailers other than Yamaha Authorized Dealers (whether via the Internet, or otherwise) will NOT be covered by Yamaha’s warranties, and U.S. service centers will not repair such products under warranty. " https://usa.yamaha.com/files/WARRANTY-Synthesizer-Stage-Keyboard-Stage-Piano-Products-2023_d902efa0429c7968ecb19909e23b37a8.pdf "This warranty covers only the Original Owner and is not transferable."
  14. that is right, he goes back to then as well.
  15. You would think after over 15 years in the band people would take pics of Charlie as he showed up to rehearsals. We got pics of just about everyone but him every day when they were in Redbank a couple of months ago. He's invisible and fans don't seem to know who he is. 🤦‍♂️
  16. This tour is the first one ive followed on the Facebook groups, plus one of my Bruce tribute band drummers is texting me setlists and me him if we aren't on FB checking the posts out. Last night was the longest night of the tour at 2:50. Most shows have been around 2:40. Trapped is one of my favorites and has been played a few times on the tour including last night. The last song is called "See you in My Dreams" and many fans have speculated it's a farewell piece just in case there are no more tours. It's great for someone like Bruce to have a new album out like Letter to You and have several songs in the set. These are great. Bruce stated on a recent podcast he still loves touring and hotels and being in different towns.
  17. Their customer support in the USA used to be really good. Now it just goes to voicemail. I had a bag zipper break four months after purchase. They sent me a couple of different replies then completely blew me off and never took care of me. Nice going. They are horrible. I hope the new owners step it up. I still have to reach back out to them on this and give them another chance before I go on line and start making posts about it on amazon, yelp and Better Business. Some of the worst service I have had lately. Nice plan- tell me you are going to replace then never do anything about it then switch messages on the next emails and then blow it off. Terrific work. And yes, I provided in warranty proof of purchase and it was bought new authorized dealer.
  18. I didn't realize until yesterday this has onboard speakers. There's not been a keyboard with speakers like this from the synth dept, those are always from the PKB side or digital pianos. The exception on the pro side was the CP300, but this is quite different.
  19. The great session and live ace David Garfield. George Benson, Karizma, Los Lobotomys with Lukather and Jeff Porcaro and much more. http://www.creatchy.com/DG_pages/DG_bio.html http://www.creatchy.com/DG_pages/DG_contact.html
  20. Yes you have read this correctly- there is none. Same as CP/YC there's no panning. As seen by searching the word pan in the pdf- there's no panning possible on these. The manual will not say "You cannot Pan" It just won't have anything about it in the manual. Omission is the no answer. https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/2/1547682/ck88_en_om_b0.pdf
  21. phones/Tablets don't use drivers. Those are for computers. There's no driver to install on the ipad and iphone- that is plug and play. You cannot install the drivers unless you have a computer.
  22. Yes I have a cool layered 12 string setup . I love it. I also play the rhythm guitar parts on keys when it goes to the other chords that part is not playing.
  23. Jeff Beck played his last show on November 12, 2022 and the next day, Gary Rossington played his final show.
  24. That is right. The original Lynyrd Skynyrd the world knows from Pronounced and Second Helping albums is extinct. Ricky was only a drum sub for 6 mos in 1971-72 and contributed nothing to the original band's legacy. So none of the hits or anything else have his mark on it. He's now promoting himself ( as well as the band doing so) as some kind of important historical original to make up for the fact that there are now none left. The other original era survivors are drummer Artimus Pyle from 1974-1977 and Honkette Leslie Hawkins from 1975-77 .
