  1. Can anyone suggest where I can buy this from? Don't need the full orchestral, just the basic "nuts and bolts" - or if you have a privbte transcription you'd like to share perhaps? Always available via PM. Thanks
  2. It's what you play, not what you play it on!
  3. My tips for playing with trax - is keep them as empty as possible. IE, play as much live as you can and (if solo) do not try to emulate 100% the "record". I tried the whole full separation thing, even when playing live bass and a drum machine all with separate feeds and running the show in stereo with panning and all....in the end it simply is not worth the effort or cost. Just create well balanced trax and you'll be fine!
  4. And https://www.karaoke-version.com/ and they are much cheaper with a far larger catalogue!
  5. hahaha, I HAVE had to do it with a 61 on occasion - it's doable needs a bit of thinking but possible. re the OP, 73 or 76 is totally fine, especially with a vocalist, which is what the audience would focus on anyway tbh.
  6. IN all my experience with small gigs (and having tried several keys with speakers) all of the above comments are accurate. It sounds like it will be ok in the lounge room, but when you get out there, with A/C noise, people chatting, glasses and plates - it all just gets buried!
  7. It's possibly why the Nords are so successful - they are very straightforward stage keyboards. Everything you need is right there in front of you.
  8. haha, is there nothing Rudess will draw the line at these days??
  9. TBH, (and not denigrating your choice) as someone who grew up with and studied stradella and freebass accordion, I really cannot see the point of needing an acoustic unit as well....the sound is not THAT different or better for that matter, really, once you're out on stage or anywhere away from the living room!
  10. For sure as a controller!!...You can send on a different MIDI channel on the right hand for each of the sections -Accordion. Organ, Orchestra 1 (all the piano/EP/synth etc sounds) and orchestra 2 - then on the left you can send on a different channel again for the chords and bass.
  11. I've got the piano-key version of the FR-8...and I am really diggin it for playing - I have actually changed over to it for all my gigs now....I can play solo piano pieces as well as combo (with electric/acoustic bass and pno chording on the left) and the ability to use and layer drum sounds to go with either left hand or right hand is really cool! Just got to not go overboard as it sounds a bit naff when you have too much going on. I tend to use just a kick and hi-hat/ride combo. My history on accordion goes way back as it was the instrument I studied music on as a kid (up to about 15). Not sure what prompted me to get one or even LOOK at one, but these digital babies are so, so, soooo much more interesting to play than a traditional acoustic.
  12. Michael Bridge plays the 1812 on a digital accordion - they have come a long way! All on the accordion live! No trax. Just wanted to share, in case it hasn't been before...goes for about6 minutes -well worth a full listen imo.
  13. It's what the scroll wheel is for - the power is in your hands!
  14. It's very good, imo - but with 20gig of samples I suppose it should be.
  15. Anyone know how to get this to download to anything other that C drive? I cannot download as I need to create 20gig more space on C - I am guessing that is the sample folder size! All my VST sample data is on other drives Fixed, that was easy I just moved the download .exe over to the other drive and ran it
  16. hmmm, the Alesis Vortex II comes to mind . And apart from the 4 midi zones, can do all this unit can as well as have aftertouch.
  17. I'm considering one - pretty much ONLY for the adaptive drums/style function....will make live solo keys playing so much more interesting!
  18. 5 stars for the find and for the content. I agree it was fascinating - but why? This guy must have bags of money and time
  19. iOS airplane mode used to turn it all off, but with the plethora of various bluetooth and wi-fi devices, Apple introduced the option for the user to engage airport, but still activate either wi-fi or BT or both if needed. It still does not accept incoming SMS or phone calls. It also remembers your preference next time you engage airport mode. I've been using my iPhone for years as break music.
  20. Boss EV-1-WL - https://www.boss.info/global/products/ev-1-wl/ which has the jack on the side to accommodate a separate footswtich. I have used a sustain pedal with this device and can confirm it works as expected. Bluetooth, USB midi or standard MIDI And for just Expression https://beatbars.com/en/midi-expression-pedal.html Not sure if either would help out the OP, but could be useful
  21. Was just going to ask if the stand comes with it - thanks for the answer
