  1. Forte 76 was great. In fact, I think the Forte is the most practical keyboard (maybe also the K2600) Kurzweil has made.
  2. Scott is right on about using the felts. And there are other similar ways to do the damping. As to processing the samples, there is a way to do it pretty well. However, the keyboard isn't likely to be able to do so in real time.
  3. Yes, I use a Mac all the time with the Numa X. Absolutely no issues.
  4. Gianni told me "next weeks". I think he meant next few weeks.
  5. This is looking good - well done. Your mockup using foam is a great idea. I'm looking forward to your progress pictures and reports!
  6. Magnetic sensing does not necessarily require reed switches - there are other ways to sense position and I would guess this is how the Soul works. That would really fit the multi position sensing.(in Hammonese, multiple contacts) used by Viscount. Obviously the final word needs to come from Viscount. Regardless, having a Sould 273, I can say it works great.
  7. 9 Contact system is great and as everything else, is tweakable. And I like the keybed, but individual opinions differ.
  8. Where is the download? Don’t see it on the Blog or in an email.
  9. TP110 is a big improvement. I really like it.
  10. Sorry about the update problem. I have done all to date with no problems. Let Studiologic know - they have been very responsive in the past.
  11. You missed a key player at Ensoniq - Albert J. Charpentier (Al). He was key to the synthesizers as VP of engineering and CTO. I had the pleasure of knowing him and will say he is a great guy and very talented person. And what a shame that Ensoniq was sold. They were working on revolutionary synthesis technology that to the best of my knowledge, no manufacture has used to date.
  12. You may be right. However, I am aware it is synth oriented, at least as initially specified. As to V.A.S.T., I have used the K2600 from day one. And also the Forte with V.A.S.T. So I also like synths and other excellent Kurzweil sounds. I was largely going on Dave Weiser’s statement that it would likely include the PC4 ROM, which implies more than a synth.
  13. If you ever heard the pianos on the Forte, I doubt you would say sample memory size isn’t such a big deal. As to the 20xx being synth oriented, we are still going to want great pianos. I’m sure we will get them but in the end, for the best quality pianos, sample memory size does matter.
