  1. Saw this and thanks for mentioning at is I had no idea they were available....do you know if they can now send on more than one channel? Past models could only send on one user defined channel. EDIT: finally tracked down a manual - seems in MIDI mode, when using splits each split can send on a unique channel. One caveat, is it seems poly AT is not available in MIDI mode (IE controlling other synths, and not NI gear) it makes no mention of poly AT in the MIDI section, just AT....everywhere else, when using NI synths Poly AT is mentioned everywhere. So I suspect as a controller it will not function as expected.
  2. Gig Performer = Expensive and quite convoluted. Cantabile cheaper (albeit a yearly sub for about $90, but only if you want newer features - bug fixes are always free) much simpler to use. Plus it has a totally free version. https://www.cantabilesoftware.com/
  3. Thanks - the keyboard maker in it's wisdom, decided to have controllers like sustain and expression be accessible via midi only on channel 15, and the control buttons on the device (which can be duplicated via a midi footswitch) to be on channel 16. I have the Roland FC-300 (modded to remove one pedal to reduce size) but it can only do one channel, and the Behringer FCB1010 is way too big!
  4. Seems most I find can only send on one channel (user selectable, but still only one channel) Are there any that will send midi CC messages on more than one channel?
  5. Been a fan forever, just don't see the need to should about it is all! This guy is arguably the best exponent, ever!
  6. Just as an aside, I prefer the Korg 73 config at C-C...the low E for playing left hand bass is a bit restrictive. At least with a low C one can get 5 and six string bass ranges. (well sorta haha)
  7. Probably only if they see something in it for themselves....it's funny isn't it, that most of use here (even those with the "arse" out of their pants) would cross the street, or town to help out a fellow muso in need, and usually for nothing.....but these super wealthy successful "artists" don't seem to be able to do anything other than "lip service" when it comes to stuff like this, apart from........re-read the original sentence
  8. Interesting that a joke is the best this lot here can do about a guy who has more talent (check out James Morrison if you don't get me) in his little finger than most here. Yet everyone goes all gushy over a hack pianist playing too fast and with debatable chops!
  9. And would this also happen to John, Joel et al?? Don't think so...sound guys would be sacked on the spot!
  10. Yep, the Atari pictured was exactly my setup! Things were certainly much simpler then, and folks were not so demanding! Not that I recall at any rate.
  11. Check out the range of Lumbeat drum apps - can all be played via MIDI and run in AUM. Afro Drummer might be the best... IAA only though
  12. only came across this by accident playing an A[Apple programmed playlist... brilliant song from d4vd - Here With Me
  13. That Klark Teknik looked ok till I saw the size of the transmitter - probs ok for a standard keyboard though
  14. And Izotope is going to Native Instruments
  15. TBH, we went through this same thing with World Series Cricket, when the "money" bought most of the major players. Who were subsequently banned from official cricket. Establishment then (after a few years - and MUCH dissing of the WSC mob, much the same as McIlroy and co spruiking off about LIV)) decided their bread should be buttered by the more commercial sectors of the game and offered a merger deal... and ever since its been "happy campers"
  16. ooh, now there's a thought! I might try that and post back
  17. Ok so replaced the speakers - the Patriots have eight screw holes so the alternate four are open but it still seems to seal quite well against the Cube speaker cutout. To me, the bass is more pronounced but I'll let listeners be the judge. I used the line inputs which are flat EQ, and used the same app and beat with the iPhone recording in the same spot and at the same level, Just used the simple recorder app in the phone. Left recording is Eminence, right is Roland, which although less "bassy" has more clarity. When I played using keys bass and drums, the Eminence stood out...lot more gain before going flabby! I might re-do the audio but with proper recording...this was just a "quick and dirty" test. The picture shows a marked difference in the size of the magnet, so I am not really surprised bass response is better. Eminence Speakers.wav Roland Speakers.wav
  18. Perhaps, ascertain the number of active members (active meaning at least one post a month) and divide that into the monthly cost of maintaining the site. That could be the base subs model. And still maintain the patreon for casual "lurkers". Most folks area already subscribing - even if only to movie/tv streaming services (or cable as you have ti over there), so I'm not sure why folks would find it obnoxious!
  19. It's only 20wats when using batteries. And as I use bass and drums (both on the FR8 and a separate iOS drum machine) the 6" speakers were to "farty" at higher levels.
  20. It's the 30m not the 50. I tried one 50 and thought it was ok but a bit weighty, and I figured two was too much. The 30m is a very nice compromise
  21. First speaker arrived today. Nice chunky little unit. Both were shipped on the same day, and tracking was mirrored right until today... the other one is scheduled for June 6...Not sure how Amazon manage to do that...ship separately instead of one package in the first place, and then somehow they drift seven days apart even though according to tracking they were neck and neck???
