  1. Carpet padding! it is cheap and often a carpet shop that does high volume has a few pieces of scrap they will give you!!!
  2. Two shows I thought were going to happen one this week and one next week have been cancelled! i have been looking forward to playing but I guess it is not meant to be!
  3. I am following this thread because I have an FC-7 that I need a potentiometer for! Where can I source one?
  4. Same thing down here. As I suspected the restaurant/bars that have had music are trying to get back on their feet and either are putting off music or offering to us at half the pay. I am taking the cut in pay to help a few out but I'm afraid it will set a precedent. It is quite the conundrum!!!
  5. Have you listened to Bose L1 compact? You can pick them up used for $600-$700. If you need more volume check out Turbo Sound 2000 or 3000. I have used the L1 with my trio in a small intimate restaurant setting successfully and the TS 2000 in a rehearsal that sounded great! Both are compact! If more volume is needed then a Small EV system would be my choice.
  6. i heard they were planning to put bassist on the corners downtown. All playing LEADS!!!
  7. DB I would like to submit a tune I wrote. I am waiting on a sax player to blow and intro and lead on it! What time frame do I have? I can have it mastered or just mixed. You tell me which you like better.
  8. Yeah... That upskirt thing was a bit disconcerting. Dan certainly has the toys. But David Bryce! Man, he's taken over his whole house with keyboards in every room! The tour was just what I expected though. He should repurpose his home as a museum and charge admission, methinks. OK... I'm ready for round two. BluesKeys - please wear pants next time! ITGITC? Tommy, If you keep this up I will start singing the famous Hot Nuts Song!!! Joe, thanks for making this happen, I saw a lot of new faces from all over the globe. It was nice to put them with the names! DB what a wonderful world you reside over!!!
  9. I been watching!!! He has got a great voice to tom with his many chops.
  10. i think I got it. I downloaded the app, voice, speaker and video all work. So maybe I will figure it out!
  11. THAT is Blue eyed soul if you didn't know!!! If I could only sing half as good!!!
  12. As a former business owner. Standard practice is you do not process a Credit Card until the item ships. The problem with liars is they cannot remember who they told which lie to!!! Mark, regardless of this guy"s current situation, he brought this on himself by telling you he was finishing up Feb 20, and you still had nothing a MONTH later. Screw him!!!
  13. Happy Birthday Dave!! Stay healthy and drink Beer!
  14. So sorry for your loss Josh. I cannot imagine what he meant to you and your career!
  15. CEB, I am glad you were listening last night to my FB Live. Jimmy Weaver I really feel that song because of spending a week in Memphis. I got to sit in with a band on Beale st. and when I walked out on to Beale St that song just hit me and I learned it!!!
  16. It has been bit of a whirlwind of shows cancelled. I rely on music and have played 170 shows a year for the last several years. So this has me looking for new ways to create income. It has forced me to tune my 6'10" K Kawai grand tuned so I can do some live shows from my livingroom. I will ask for tips/donations to cover my income loss. I have no idea what it will produce, but it really the only thing I can do until this eases up! I will have to sell some things as well.
  17. I have and play both the RD800 and RD2000 and I find that with a little tweeking they are real similar. I play in an 8pc horn band and it never gets lost in the mix.
  18. It was the power supply. He found a new one and I am back in business $256 later. I am going to be buying a new board soon. Who knows when something else will go!!!
  19. I have been looking a replacement for a year or there abouts for my Motif 6. Last night the Motif worked fine at sound check. I Left it on for the hour or so before down beat. When I came onstage to start the first set and the Motif had shut down.Tried to power back up, then a different power cord but no luck. To bring you up to speed the last several shows I would be playing and it would shut down and restart for no apparent reason. I'.m hoping it is just bad connections of either the power cord (inside the unit) or the switch. I am not afraid to open it other than the 88 screws just to get there. BUT I am concerned about soldering on a circuit board. Any tricks or ideas??? Maybe someone here has a fix they have done???
  20. Like many here, I learn the entire song on piano and chart it (usually Nashville style) Then I go back and add what ever other parts I might cover (Strings, bells, synth etc) one at a time. With that many tunes I usually listen to signature lines and learn them first. Then I will come back after playing a while and see if there is anything else that needs to be there. I sometimes write out a string line in case I FORGET it on a show. MOST IMPORTANT I listen to the songs in the car or anywhere I can to get familiar with them all. I ind that repeated listening is almost as good as rehearsing it on the boards!
  21. Cosco has an aluminum cart that I use $99 or less when on sale. The nice thing is the lip folds down and I can get my 88 case on it with weight.
  22. I don't recall any upright samples that were so clean and perfectly tuned. They sound amazing and I would bet inspire a certain style change verses a grand!
