  1. Thanks Bones... Just a bit of liner notes, I am playing Organ, Piano and Bass and have Grammy Award winning Ivan Hampden Jr on drums (17yrs with Luther Vandross) Robin Woodard on Guitar, Emmy Award winner Richard Putnam, and Alex Almasy on horns, and Cammy Award winner JK Loftin is my producer. One nice line up!! Quick UPDATE, Runnin Blue has been making waves up several local radio Charts! Already #19 on DJ Eric Bowmans chart and "Bubbling Under" on Fessa John Hooks Top 40 Beach Music Chart. www.jimmyweaver.com or
  2. I purchased a used Bose L1 Compact. Sweet little sound for small venues. Light weight one trip where I have a piano. Cuts a trip where I bring my own keys!

  4. I just finished this recording. It is the first release from my solo project I started last year. The delay has been exhausting, with first my studio owner/engineer had a heart attack. Then his parents both have had major health issues. I finally took what I had to another studio to get this song out. It is an old Boz Scaggs tune called Running Blues. I am not computer savvy so I don't have the "Clonk" thingy
  5. Interested in how these work out for you. Been eyeing a pair myself. Midinut, my observation for the EV ZLX 12 after a solo show with one and using in a large outdoor setup. 1. Solo, my vocals sounded as rich and full as if I was using the 15 JBL G2 and plenty of bottom for piano. I was impressed. 2. Full on PA for outdoor sound show for 4 bands. We had a QSC powdered system of two 15-horns and two QSC 18 subs. Added the EV ZLX 12 along with three Renkus Hienz powered 18 subs. I used my QSC Touch Mix 16 with iPad to mix and the system sounded incredible. As good as any sound companie I have had do sound with equipment costing 3 times this one. The musicians that stuck around all raved about the clarity and quality of the mix. 3. Now I have only one more place to use them and that is as monitor in a band situation.
  6. Midinut, Right off the bat they are easier to carry and lighter weight! And I have played a few hours through them at moderate to low volume and they seem to have enough bottom. They did get quite warm on the back after being on for 4 hours. We will see how they work in live settings this week and weekend.
  7. Just picked up a pair of EV ZLX-12p papered speakers. Selling two of my JBL EON G2 and keeping one pair. I will find out this weekend how they work together.
  8. I could have sworn I posted a response here yesterday!!! In fact the thread was on the first page when I opened KC! Ok here e go again, thanks for the responses, I have been busy trying to finish up a song I am about to release and prep for what was a Cat 4-5 Huricane, but now looks like a Nor'easter as the old men would say. It is looking like we are out of the path but it's a waiting game now. Anyway when things get back to normal I will see what I can get!!
  9. I have available, Spectrum which was Time Warner which I hated! $44.99 for 100mbps At&t which has not had U verse in the area when I checked a early this year. But now it will not say it is available, but gives me the Internet 100 or 1000 plans $40/$90 (100 & !000mbps) Century Link 80mbps $55 I hear a lot of complaints on AT&T U verse and Spectrum, speeds not consistent or service cuts off at odd times etc. I use my Verizon Phone as a hotspot but it has slowed down so much I am ready to switch!!
  10. Roland RD-2000 I have had about a month. I am still trying to Get myself acclimated to it. Love the APs, EPs etc but not loving Some of the other features. Still in the learning curve. I have yet To gig with it and will have to get my performance set put together Before I do.
  11. FYI, I have owned mine for Two years and have not broken a key! People can talk about the action and feeling cheap, but proof is in the pudding!!! I break keys, it is what I do, lol, if I get another year in without a broken key it may be a new record!!! I still dig this board, my only complaint is the (organ) distortion sucks!
  12. Been there 3 times. It gets easier!!! Lol Good luck to you I know it will turn out for you. My 1st plaintiff said it best "you should have married music" now I finally have and life is good.
  13. Great job DB. Nice to get the origins of our KC. I started on Compuserve about the same time because they had a musicians corner with Ensoniq and Cakewalk forums. I was so green to midi, programming and digital recording. As others have said its the vibe here!!!
  14. I just took the VR-09 out to a jam because of limited space. Though I don't like unweighted keys for piano I was pleased with the piano sound and it made it playable. Really liked the two trip load in/out. This little board packs a lot of fun.
  15. Roc N Soc Stool with nice soft pad for my tired Butt.
  16. A cat turned me on to Jon Cleary. Wooow if you don't dig this cat you ain't got a hair on your ass.
  17. The Netgear N150 WNA1100 works like a champ... now we just need someone to peruse this thread for all the great changes you muso's have made!!!!
  18. I first apologize but I tried searching for this and had no luck. Question Is there a substitute for the Roland Wireless USB that will work on the VR-09? I just dislike spending more than I have to and looks like I could buy a NETGear wireless USB for $15.00 verses $50 I want to use it with the iPad app.
  19. I use the Ashby adapter with the Yamaha FC-7 and it works like a champ. I also rewired a FC-7 to work with Roland and it does fine too.
  20. oddly enough an old case I made years ago for a Kawai K4 from 1x4's and 1/4" lauan plywood fit the VR 09 perfectly with a space for the power supply at one end.
  21. 1st gig with the VR-09 1. Must put velcro on bottom. It is so lite it was moving all over my invisible stand. (I had the arms covered with velcro for my Triton LE) 2. Love the Leslie sim and the joy stick on/off. Much better than D beam 3. Strings came off fairly well, not as good as My Motif but definitely usable. 4. The draw bars seemed to give me better sounds as I worked them. Have had a VK8m for years and this unit seems to better respond to my draw bar changes. 5. OVERALL IMPRESSION? I will have fun with this board. It has all the functionality I could ask for at this price. It will be a welcome part of my second rig for years I think. It is really a joy to play and easy to maneuver between settings on stage. 2 thumbs up
  22. Thanks Guys, I have a VK8m and the overdrive is much smoother operating. I would have go so far to say better, although next to the Vent it still is less than desireable. Will say the leslie sim is improved, but to bad to loose one and gain another.
