Clarification: I own a 2101 (the small Leslie with spinning horn and simulated low rotor), I’m considering adding a 2121, their stationary full range amp for amplifying the whole rig.
The alternative would probably be a Space Station XL, in that case I would ditch the 2101 and use a Ventilator. I’m not sure the SSXL is the right choice though - I don’t need the 3D spread of the SSXL on this gig but it feels more allround than the 2121. I don’t ‘need’ an amp at all but since everybody else is using amps and I’m only audible in his wedge the stage balance is a bit off.
I can’t try either model here in Sweden so any input is welcome.
I play with a band where the lead singer uses a wedge, the rest of us are on IEM:s. I am the only one without any kind of amp on the stage and I know the singer would like to hear me better when moving around on stage. IEM:s are unfortunately not an option for him. I think the best solution for me will be to stay on IEM:s but use a stage amp. A regular Space Station doesn’t really do what we need on the bigger stages, so I was considering upgrading to a SSV3 XL, but then again I use a 2101 quite often and figured I could route everything through that system. I use a MODX and an SK pro 61. Does anybody have any experience with both systems?
As a Montage user, there are a few OS quirks that could/should be redone. For instance the possibility to freely assign multiple zones to one midi channel as well as opening up channels 9-16 would be great, and if they were to release software expansions a new OS allowing them to sell/authorize licenses could be a possibility. The Montage could use more memory - but with a software based VA synth and the YC organ you could free up sample space in the Montage. Win/win..!
I’m usually more into Oberheims and Prophets and big, lush sounds, but I did a session many years ago where I borrowed a Two-Voice and a JP-4 from a friend and ended up using the JP-4 more… the envelopes sound really good to me and it has a great ability to sit perfectly in a guitar heavy mix.

The good stuff: This seems legit. The JP4 is one of my all time favorite synths.
The bad stuff: Available for the System-8 only..? I have a Jupiter-X. IMHO this ought to be available for the Jupiter series since - well, it is indeed the first Jupiter.
The OBX is a true monster of a synth. The only thing I could have wished for in mine was the addition of a more lush 4-pole filter. And that’s actually in the X8. 🤩
Does this look familiar to anybody..? Almost an inch of movement without anything actually happening inside the pedal. Only one screw to adjust and it doesn’t do anything either way I turn it…

I recorded and edited a couple of audio books last year and used RX8 or UAD C-suite C-vox for noise removal. C-Vox can even solve problems while tracking.
I bought a used JPX a few weeks ago. It sounds really good..! I use my JX10 and Juno-60 for most of my analog needs and haven’t really found an instrument that does them “good enough” live. I have an Integra-7 which sounds great but lacks directness, the JP sounds equally good but has that live-fun-factor. It’s big and heavy but worth the schlepp.
I have a mil grade SKB case, packing the Kronos in something soft inside the hard case should do the job. I usually refuse to fly with my boards due to the wear and risks - I bought an Integra-7 and a HX3 module that I can carry onto the plane.
