MikeT156
I don't know what age group of "long hairs" you're talking about, but those of us that grew up in the "Woodstock" generation all had long hair. So many of our generation always kept their hair long, and as we grew older, some of us kept it the way it was. I think it looks stupid for a 50+ year old person to keep what's left of their grey hair that way, but I still see them around. "Some of us" outgrew the long hair thing years ago, and as I got older, the less I cared about what's on my head and more about what's in it. I still have a lot of work to do in that department. Can't do much about the hair though. Mike T. coyote
Long hair has been the norm throughout most of history. And if you go back a couple hundred years, you see that those who didn't have it wore WIGS. My hair is currently kinda short, and I like it that way. But I liked it long too, and don't see why others should have issues with that if I want it that way. Besides, it occurs to me that there's a bunch of twentysomething musicians with shaved heads.... why would anyone go to all that effort to get rid of a full head of hair? I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. Dan South
I have short hair. If people don't notice my freaky, quirky, creative personality from my actions, then they're not paying close enough attention. The Black Knight always triumphs! But wifee, employer, and non-muso pals hated it. Universally. So I cut it. The only remnant is my studio name: "Graytail Studios". I suppose it was my midlife crisis - cheaper than a sports car, less danger to the soul than finding a little chica for the side. Sometimes I miss my tail. Usually I don't. Lately, I've taken to wearing hats, fedora varietals mostly. I must nonconform somehow. I hope I don't start a trend. Then I'd have to think of something else. Mutton chops maybe. Or spats. linwood
Ken said it best. Guess ya had to be there. I had the hair in the 60's/early 70s when it meant something. Now I hardly have any and what I do have doesn't photograph. I suffer from premature kojaculation.
Bill Heins
It's not about the hair but what's underneath it...that said I am a long hair from way back and will continue to be one for as long as I feel like it I'm still wondering about those pants that are 10 times too large and only come up to the knees Darkon the Incandescent http://www.billheins.com/ Hail Vibrania! That's the essence right there. If you didn't live thru the 70's, you just have no idea how divided the country was. It was the cops and the jocks and the government and the older generation against the rest of us. Your hair defined which side of the fence you were on and it was a political statement (whether you wanted it to be or not), not just decoration. jay da cop
As a teen in the 70's, my hair was long. In the 80's I did the military thing (and still do - 1 year to retirement, provided the "stop-loss" goes away), and now I do the military AND the cop thing, so I keep it short. Besides, I don't have much left on top anyway. My wife likes it shorter. And, who wants to spend that much time in the bathroom when there is so much more to life? My 2 cents. Faruk
well, I've got bold since I'm 17 due to heavy medications I had to take. I have some strange looking paches of hair here and there and that is why I usually shave my head during the summer and grow it as much as I can during the winter. Nowdays it seems cool to have shaved head . My friends cutted their hair and have it short now too. When I think of it there is not much long hairs these days. Must be end of an era.
