Finally! I haven't figured out how to get a direct link to these but go to broadjam.com and search for "DoubleLight" in the ARTIST category. There should be 4 songs there. :D EDIT: I do believe that clicking right about HERE will take you there directly.

The mastered versions sound SO much better than the last demos I heard. The guy really did a nice job, don'tcha think? Unfortunately, I couldn't get the mp3 links to work. I ended up listening to the Realplayer format. Sounding good!

I haven't posted on this thread in a long time. I hope someone listens as last time I recieved some interesting feedback that I enjoyed hearing. We have a GIRL DRUMMER and we are a three piece from San Diego California. We are currently recording a better quality recording at a very awesome studio, and the owner of the studio has taken us on as his project band and is getting us a lot of extra time and mixing mastering for free. Please listen to Sweet Superstition first, I like that one the best. The others would be good, if I would have had a decent Electric Guitar sound... well of course that is what I tell myself to make me feel better about my recording ability :) www.hmdmusic.om All you have to do is click on the song titles to the left of the page.... WFTurner - Those tracks were definitely an interesting listen. You have a pretty complex and convoluted musical personality if those are an indication. "Surreal" indeed! :thu: CY - Great vibe, nice recording...and you said you pulled that song out of your archives from 1968? It must have been great fun to revisit something you did so long ago. Neat! --------------- Up until recently, I could pretty much be described as a "Neo Progger," but over the last year or so all the odd meters and extended song structures have gotten a little old and I've found myself wanting to do something more modern and immediate (not to mention something that's going to be a little more palatable to a mainstream club audience). Here's a reference mix of one of the songs I'm working on for a new disc. "Thrill to be Alive" (160k MP3)

Hey LanceMo - yes ! Diggin 'Light' & 'Nightmare Universe' dissident - 'Lady Godiva' nice attitude & performance - nice dynamics & eq balance, Platform Sigh is cool too - would be a fun live band to go out and see. knunchucksammy Howsmydriving - funky & fun snare ring on hourglass ! Lot's of of dynamic space in there I really like that !!! Maybe needs a touch of treble to balance the EQ a very small bit. Sweet Superstition - very nice & lots of space too - nice EQ ! Glad you're the 'house band' for such a talanted studio...A+ on web page too... Dave G - Nice musical density without squishing the devil out of it - Rational Animal, arf ! There's a noisy cord or device at the beginning but it gets buried pretty quick. Wowie the level of all these songs is very good ! Let's end musical pollution with some more of this quality - leave that to me, hehe

WFTurner, I gave a listen to The Fading Glow of Hope. You sound like a hopelss romantic. ;) I liked, a nice sense of composition and orchestration. Shmee, great lyrics. Are you a bass player? Is that a Clavinet that sometimes comes in with the bass notes? My son's band. New tune. I'm thinking of rerecording. I have some second thoughts on: drums bass guitar strums. everything. Too bassy? Tim, I liked your guitar playing. You certainly can play. But the genre is a song genre. Without the vocals to complement your playing I think the effort is only half there. The palette of a rock band isn't as great as a symphony orchestra, so where's the development? Despite the incredible ability of some guitarists the guitarist alone seems to be a sideshow to R&R essentials - the song with the singer/s and band. You're a great player though. I thought the bass drum sounded too pinched. Like over use of a gate. It sound more like a lower pitched snare drum than a bass drum. Good work on placement of sounds and getting one guitar (or was it two) separated in the mix so well. The guitars get great attention, I think the other instruments need not be so secondary in their treatment. Since it's a trio, maybe the drums could sound almost as big as the guitars. As a person living in a glass house, I should talk. Your music is real good.

WFT - You win the award for creative, diverse compostitions. Great variety, melodies, rhythm, structure, balanced mixes. It took me three or four songs to get over the generic VSC sounds - you have Sonar, so you must have VSamp, right? I do recommend better quality samples at some point, or going in a virtual-synth direction with most sounds. DC - I'd agree that "midnight" sounds a little old, but it's a song and is served well by the recording. Wasted time is busy, but interesting. Sean - Yours are some of the few songs here that keep me coming back for more listenings. You have a way with song structure, lyrics, etc., that are different but hang together. The mixes aren't that far, either. Duke - fun and well done - it probably doesn't even need the tambourine. LD - more fun! CarmenC - still more fun! A lot like a cover of this song that I used to do many moons ago. dissident - release-ready! knunchucksammy - the chick smokes! I really like all the songs. Were they mixed on NS-10s...by the bass player (a little too much bass gtr). Dave G - the mix doesn't need much more work. I had a few thoughts that the mix of old and new was not too homogenous, but the song still works. Alcohol - I liked the alt-indie-Infected. Yeah, a little bass-heavy. timrocker - get some air around that guitar sound, but keep rocking!

Here is a tune of some high school kids i recorded. They wrote and performed the tune. I think it's AWESOME. Thought you might enjoy hearing it. The drummer is 14 and the bass player Helen is 15, the others are in grades 11 and 12 i think. I hope to do more with this singer in particular. halljams, that tune from the high school kids is impressive and the kid who is singing has a good sounding voice. It''s really a good effort from people so young. I think the drummer deserves special credit too.

Doug, Midnight Sun. The singer has a really good voice. The guitar sounds good but the unvarying rhythm could change. Also, the singing and the instruments don't seem to gel where the rhythm changes, near the end for instance. whiere it's sung "And it feels so right, and it's midnight somewhere." The repeated notes on the high hat right after that could be more rhythmically interesting. I would have mixed the drums up more. Good song though.

Hi guys, I gave a link to this band I recorded in the guitar forum a while back but that link is dead. This one has some shortened samples so it wont take long to download if you want to hear the higher quality on a dial up. Paul http://ameranouche.com/wst_page2.html

Hi Folks I wondered if i added a link to our 40 second sound bits if you let me know what you think of the tracks we have done on our last 2 albums 2Double 01 and Ultraviolet. I manage a band called YCB and they are a Britfunk band in the UK and are doing pretty well. It would be great to hear some other opinions other than our fans as we are in the process of completing our 3rd album 'Partners In Rhythmic Crimes' ready for release in October. Please checkout www.Y-C-B.co.uk and go to MP3 tasters at the top of the page and enjoy the music as we have tryed our best to capture what we are about in our musci and how we feel about what we do. Looking forward to hearing your comments. Thank You YaCaBaby
