  1. As I already said in this forum, in order not to be disappointed, don't expect too much from Korg, they are doing things in their own way πŸ™‚ I personally think there will be no major update to the Vox Conti. But I also thought there would be no update to the SV1, especially after the GS was released. But then came the SV2 totally unexpected, so I was completely mistaken. I also never thought there would be an updated or a new version of the GS, and then came the GS X, also totally unexpected 🀣 So I stopped wandering about Korg's product strategy and will just have a look at what they're doing when I will need to get a new board πŸ™‚
  2. I don’t like Roland’s AP and EP sounds sorry 😞 I think I prefer the design of the 1st Grandstage version. So in my opinion they should have just kept the original chassis and just update the sound palette with more memory and some additional controls like they did. In any case they should not have increased the weight πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Maybe as an alternative they should offer the Grandstage X as a sound module for those who don't want to bother with the shape and weight of the new version. With a magnet included in the bottom so it can fit easily and stick on my Vox Conti's free space area πŸ˜‰ But hey I’m not part of Korg’s team πŸ˜‚
  3. An minor update was just released which fixes a bunch of identified bugs from the previous version, especially the ability to preview user samples in the new Sydney Gadget. This makes the app really amazing, definitely boosting my creativity and productivity, as one can have such a powerful music app in an iphone to create music on the fly!!! I say just whoooaaa (and I don't get so enthusiastic so often lol). But this time I say bravo to Korg πŸ™ Now I'm just waiting for the AUv3 implementation on iM1 as I'm heavily using certain of its patches, and I'll be a really happy music producer; ready to craft new music wherever I feel like doing it πŸ™‚
  4. But damn, looks like Korg was very busy lately πŸ˜‚
  5. Nice but way too heavy and large for me to be a stage piano πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ But maybe I’m just getting old πŸ˜‚ Also I haven’t seen if there will be an 88 and a 73 keys versions.
  6. Yes of course this is more than feasible with the current technology. It's just probably not in Korg's product strategy currently but who knows. We are pretty close to it though with what is already available in Module and Gadget. Just the integration was not thought out to offer an equivalent to a Kronos sound module on the ipad. Module could play this role but as you said it should be further developed to integrate additional sound engines and control capabilities.
  7. So you would basically like to have an augmented Kronos on an iPad πŸ˜‰ Of course this would be for sure amazing πŸ˜„
  8. What updates would you like to have on Module? For me it is fine as it is, but I'm not using it on stage so maybe I'm missing something πŸ™‚
  9. I just updated it and there are some nice and long awaited new features, especially the ability to load the Gadgets in other DAWs as AUv3, because honestly the sequencer in Gadget is not good. Also the new Gadgets are nice, especially the one with the time stretching capability which was missing until now. And it looks like they will give the AUv3 treatment to some other apps like iM1 which I've been waiting for a long time. So unlike what I said in another thread, it look likes finally Korg is listening to their users, even though they take their time to implement new features πŸ˜„ Of course this can be a bit frustrating for us as customers, but I'm nonetheless getting again some good feelings with my favourite brand πŸ™‚ Unfortunately still no possibility to create custom chords like in Cubasis 3, but not such a big deal with possibility to use the Gadgets inside it.
  10. New Edit: after making contact with the official Korg distributor and support team here in Germany, they finally offered me to replace the complete keybed free of charge. I think it's nice from them, but it makes me believe they were already aware of this issue. I really hope now they have implemented a fix in the new BLK version, or in the latest red units they sold. The most annoying part is that I have to bring the board to an official VOX dealer so that they send the unit to the central team. Means I will have also to pay for the packaging and transportation costs, and wait probably 2 weeks to get it back. Anyway I think I will do it because I don't want this issue to happen again with other keys...
  11. Hey guys, I now have a small issue with one of my unit: for whatever reason, one of the screw which is tightening the white handle on top of the amp can’t be tightened any more. I think the nut which allowed the screw to be tightened has come loose and fell inside the amp. So as a result, I can’t use the handle any more to carry the amp, which is a bit annoying. Does anybody know if there is a way to open the back of the amp, catch the nut and put it back to it’s original position so that I can tighten the screw again? Thanks in advance or any hint πŸ™.
  12. Lucky you. I'm wandering if it would be possible to buy a complete keybed as a spare part. I've seen somebody suggesting a repair in the Vox Conti FB group and tried it but it didn't solve the issue. It was just bending a metallic rod which lies under the key. If you bend it, then the keys become even again but they must be pressed harder for a sound to come out. And this doesn't feel good, at least for me. Then I bended the metallic rod back to their original shape, so now the keys are uneven again. I think the problem can't be solved this way. So I think the only way to go would be to change the keybed but I don't know if it is possible to get one. Anybody has an idea? Edit: I ended up swapping the unevenplastic keys with some of the keys in the low register which I seldom play. Problem is now solved. So it looks like the issue is rather coming from the plastic keys themselves, which is rather a good news because one can either swap them or probably buy some spare parts. So no need to completely replace the keybed! I'm feeling much better now πŸ™‚ Let's see how long the keys stay in their right position!
  13. Do not hope anything from Korg, they do just what they want to do without caring much about customer requests or complains πŸ˜’ That way, you cannot be disappointed... Besides the keybed, even though it is pretty nice to play, has some serious issues: I have 4 uneven keys on mine since 3 or 4 months which is really annoying. Sorry to ponder a bit the enthusiasm here, but I was really in love with mine until this keybed issue came up. And I'm not the only one in that case. Maybe the latest Black Edition includes some fixes which solve it but I highly doubt it.
  14. The Italian piano is also available on the SV2, in several versions (like standard and bright). I personally like it very much, even more than the CP88 acoustic pianos which I tested in a shop. Roland acoustic pianos are a no go for me: they sound way too bright and artificial to my ears. But as far as acoustic piano tones are concerned, this is a way too subjective topic to get to a consensus on which brand provides the best acoustic piano tones πŸ˜‰ Plus there's always the never ending discussion on what is better between modeled and sample tones.
  15. But the Hammond sound is not only depending on the drawbar settings. It’s also depending on the Perc, chorus, vibrato and leslie settings πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Plus any other possible elements in the amplification chain. There are actually many parameters to consider which makes it sometimes not easy to reproduce a particular tone. But I guess that’s part of the fun and of the learning process to work this out on one’s own πŸ˜‚ For sure, there is also many information available on the internet. I think there are even books on this topic. Good luck with this !
  16. Yes, I've got two of them, and they both make this smooth noise. I think it is normal background amp noise. I hear the same kind of noise on my guitarist bandmate's amp πŸ˜‰ It's just noticeable when it's quiet around, so no issue at all when used on stage or in a rehearsal room.
  17. Yes I did mention Zapp and Roger earlier in this post πŸ˜‰
  18. Starpoint: It’s All Yours Lakeside: Fantastic Voyage Dayton: The Sound Of Music D Train: Keep On Rocket: Groove Thing Sharon Redd: Never Give You Up The Jones Girls: Keep It Comin’ …
  19. Zapp&Roger: More Bounce To The Ounce, So Ruff, So Tuff and many other tracks πŸ˜‰ Many Cameo tracks.
  20. Thanks for the Autosampler hints πŸ˜πŸ™ Yes I still need to take the time to do this. Not so easy at the moment πŸ˜‚ So finally I got Scarbee EP-88S, and it is really excellent. I’m already a heavy user of the iOS version in Korg Module, but the desktop version is even better. Very playable and with a lot of available tweaks. To be fairly honest, the SV2 EPs do not sound as good. They are good for live performance but not so good as the Scarbee for recording and production. So I will use each of them for different purposes, and that’s fine for me πŸ‘
  21. ok thanks for the hint. I finally decided to buy the Alicia Keys piano. It's pretty nice πŸ™‚ I think then I will get the Scarbee EP-88S, as it is currently also on sale. So no Kontakt 7 for me at the moment.
  22. NI is now making a summer sale with 50% off many products, including Kontakt 7. I'm tempted to get it πŸ˜… Can somebody just tell me if the factory bank includes some decent sounding acoustic pianos. I could not access the factory bank user manual from NI's website to check this. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ The link seems to be down at the moment. Otherwise the Alicia Key's piano sounds interesting to me. I bought the Scarbee Vintage Keys bundle just before the summer sale but NI was kind enough to grant me the 50% reduction. The Scarbee Mark I sounds pretty good to me, and as I want to get Kontakt 7 just to be able to use the Purgatory Creek EPs, I'm now thinking this may be too much. Geeezz, life is not easy sometimes 🀣
  23. Yes Korg once did something similar on the Vox Conti and the Grandstage. I believe it should also be possible on the SV2, but until now there's no sign that something will ever come. So I don't expect anything more from them. I also think what is available on the SV2 is more than enough. So it's not so important in the end. Well at least this is my way of dealing with my disappointment πŸ˜‚
  24. I also know this, so I'm only complaining about the wrong advertising which Korg did on their website and the wrong expectations this generated in customers like me πŸ₯² Anyway I have no more hope now, but I'm still angry against Korg because of this πŸ˜‚
